Chapter 929: Don’t Bother Her Anymore

“Young Master Xu, how do you find this place? If you think it’s suitable, we can sign the contract today. If not, I have other options in hand.”

In an office building, Xu Shaochen was currently choosing a location for his game company.

The person accompanying him and making the introduction was none other than the owner of the office building.

This office building was in the city center, with fifteen floors in total. Most had already been rented out.

Even though the rent was high, there was no shortage of wealthy people in China.

“The place looks quite good.”

After making a round of inspection, Xu Shaochen made a nonchalant comment.

Aside from Long Yi and the other three who were responsible for his daily security, only his secretary was with him today.

The secretary was quite considerate, sensible, and competent. Though a bit silly, she was endearing. Xu Shaochen had grown accustomed to her, and barring any surprises, he wouldn’t change his secretary.

The owner’s face lit up with joy upon hearing this: “So which floor did Young Master Xu prefer? I’ll give you a good deal.”

“I was talking about the entire building. Are you interested in selling it to me?”

Xu Shaochen withdrew his gaze and looked at the owner with a faint smile.

Xu Shaochen had his own plans. His game company wasn’t going to be small-scale, so he might as well just buy the entire building.

The owner was stunned and took a moment to react. This, indeed, was what it meant to be truly wealthy. While ordinary people rented floor by floor, he bought buildings all at once.

When the owner finally understood, he nodded repeatedly: “Sell! If Young Master Xu wants it, of course, I’ll sell it. I’ll talk to the other companies. Worst case, I’ll compensate them to move out quickly. Xu Shaochen can just take over directly.”

Those other companies had only signed their contracts in the second half of the year. Selling the building to Xu Shaochen now would breach those contracts.

Compensation would be required, and it wouldn’t be a small amount.

But the owner felt it was worth it. Moreover, he believed that once the buyers knew the building’s new owner was Xu Shaochen, they wouldn’t make a big fuss.

“Since that’s the case, I’ll trouble you then. Here’s my business card. Once it’s settled, just give me a call. I’ll treat you to a meal.”

Xu Shaochen patted the owner on the shoulder and handed him a business card.

“No, no! How could I let you treat me? I’ll invite you! It would be my greatest honor if Young Master Xu would grace me with his presence.”

The owner was flattered, quickly reaching out to receive the business card with both hands and carefully putting it into his pocket.

“Alright, it’s all the same.”

Xu Shaochen nodded and left with his secretary.

“Chairman Xu, things will be quite busy at the game company, won’t they?”

The secretary jogged to catch up to Xu Shaochen, cautiously asking while sneaking a glance at his expression.

“Yes, I plan to hire another secretary then.”

Xu Shaochen found it amusing, but outwardly he kept a calm expression.

“What?!”

The secretary’s face immediately changed.

“What’s the matter? Why are you so worked up about me hiring another secretary?”

Xu Shaochen asked with a baffled expression.

“It’s… it’s nothing.”

The secretary’s face was unnaturally pale as she forced a weak smile, internally panicking. What if some foxy woman came in and pushed her out of her position?

“Relax, I’m just teasing you. I’ve gotten used to working with you. How could I possibly hire a new person?”

Xu Shaochen let out a hearty laugh, wrapping an arm around the secretary’s slender waist and pulling her close. Instantly, a fragrant breeze wafted into his chest.

“Chairman Xu, you’re so bad! Always scaring me.”

The secretary sighed in relief, feeling sweet inside. She knew Xu Shaochen wasn’t a heartless man.

She was getting addicted to being his lover. After all, being Xu Shaochen’s mistress was far better than marrying someone else.

She had made up her mind: if Xu Shaochen ever grew tired of her, she would take the money, leave, and live her own life abroad.

She believed Xu Shaochen wouldn’t treat her badly.

“Did you miss me while I was out of the country?”

Xu Shaochen asked.

“Yes, of course!”

The secretary nodded earnestly, looking as serious as ever.

“Where did you miss me?”

Xu Shaochen’s gaze carried a hint of teasing amusement.

The secretary shyly averted her eyes, whispering, “Everywhere on my body.”

After speaking, she lowered her head even further. How embarrassing… When had she ever become so shameless to say such things?

As the two spoke, they had already exited the office building.

“So, Ye Ling, you wretched woman! You’re holding someone else while dating me?! I’ll beat you to death!”

At this moment, a young man suddenly rushed forward, pointing at the secretary and cursing her out in a fit of rage.

But before he could get close to Xu Shaochen and the secretary, Long Yi and Long Er blocked him.

“What’s going on?”

Xu Shaochen frowned. No way, right? Did I unintentionally steal someone’s girlfriend again?

“Chairman Xu, don’t listen to him! I never agreed to date him. He’s someone my mom set me up with on a blind date.”

“I’ve already rejected him, but he keeps pestering me and telling everyone I’m his girlfriend.”

The secretary anxiously explained to Xu Shaochen. She was afraid he would misunderstand, and that would be a disaster.

Ever since she got involved with Xu Shaochen, she hadn’t planned on finding another boyfriend.

Raging, the young man pointed at Ye Ling and yelled, struggling to break free from Long Yi and Long Er’s grip.

“Lin Wei! When did I ever accept your gifts? You forced them on me, and I mailed them back!”

Ye Ling felt very wronged. This guy was a creep, even stalking her and forcing gifts on her.

She didn’t even dare to refuse them in person and could only send them back by mail discreetly.

“That’s your business. I know I sent them, and you accepted them. That makes you my girlfriend. So what are you doing messing around with someone else?!”

Lin Wei righteously accused Ye Ling.

“Chairman Xu…”

Ye Ling looked at Xu Shaochen, pleading for help. Lin Wei’s extreme personality really frightened her.

“Brother, it seems you don’t know that she’s my woman.”

Xu Shaochen looked at Lin Wei and spoke with a warm smile.

Lin Wei sneered: “Who the hell are you? Do I need to know you? Let me tell you, don’t flaunt your money in front of me! Tell your lackeys to let me go right now!”

Xu Shaochen didn’t get angry after hearing this. He remained calm and unhurried: “You didn’t know before, so I won’t blame you. But now that you do, don’t bother her anymore, okay?”

“I’ll tell you what! I won’t back off just because you say so. I’ve claimed her, but once I’m done with her, I’ll pass her to you if you want! How’s that?!”

Lin Wei provocatively looked at Xu Shaochen, a mocking smile spreading across his face.
