Chapter Index

    “What happened?”

Seeing Xu Shaochen hang up the phone, Deng Tianwen asked.

    “An arrogant fool.”

    Xu Shaochen said indifferently.

He didn’t care whether those two bodyguards lived or died.

After all, he had given them a large settlement package. It wasn’t for nothing.

It was only a pity for those two Genetic Serums.

He wouldn’t waste any more time on Huo Shen. His goal was only to kill Xu Zhou.

Now that goal had been achieved.

Meanwhile, far away in the Great Wilderness, Huo Shen’s mind was exploding.

    “Bang!”

He threw his phone on the ground furiously and cursed: “Damn it, Xu! If you have guts, don’t ever come to the Great Wilderness again!”

He felt like he had just punched a cotton ball.

It was as if Xu Shaochen had been attacking him, and just when he was ready to strike back, Xu Shaochen ignored him.

    Both infuriating and powerless.

He could only helplessly let the matter drop for now.

After all, he wasn’t foolish enough to go to Jiangzhou to cause trouble for Xu Shaochen.

In the Great Wilderness Province, he was powerful.

But outside of it, he was nobody.

This was the downside of not expanding outward.

He thought the matter would end like this. Little did he know, they would indeed meet again.

    Northwest.

Northwest Iron and Steel Group was well-known throughout the Northwest. They had long-term contracts with many real estate companies.

Right now, Northwest Steel’s chairman had an unexpected visitor in his office.

“Zhao Er Shao! What a rare guest! I wonder what brings you here today?”

Northwest Steel’s chairman, Pan Quan, was in his fifties, with a balding head and a beer belly. His face beamed with enthusiasm as he welcomed Zhao Fei, smiling like a blooming chrysanthemum.

He thought Zhao Fei was bringing him business. After all, it was well known that Zhao Family was doing exceptionally well right now.

But he was a bit curious. Normally, it was Zhao Chen, the eldest brother, who handled these matters.

Why was the second young master here today?

“Old Pan, I wouldn’t call it a favor. I just need your help with something.”

Zhao Fei casually sat down on the sofa by the wall and said to Pan Quan.

In his mind, given his status, the success of his request was a sure thing.

Indeed, though he was upset by Zhao Chen’s patronizing attitude, he still followed Zhao Chen’s advice.

Start by targeting the Deng Family’s suppliers.

“Quick, serve tea to Zhao Er Shao.”

Pan Quan instructed his secretary while sitting across from Zhao Fei: “I wonder what kind of assistance Zhao Er Shao needs from me? If it’s within my ability, I’ll do my best.”

“Not just your best. You must accomplish it,” Zhao Fei emphasized.

Pan Quan felt a little uncomfortable after hearing this.

The Zhao Family might be powerful, but Pan Quan wasn’t a nobody.

Zhao Fei had come to his company, and he had shown respect. But now Zhao Fei was acting all high and mighty, as if giving him orders.

Despite his discomfort, Pan Quan remained calm: “Please be straightforward. What is it that you require of me?”

At this moment, the secretary brought in the tea: “Chairman Pan, Young Master Zhao, please enjoy your tea.”

After setting the tea down, the secretary swayed her hips provocatively as she left the office.

“Here’s the thing.” Zhao Fei took a sip of tea, moistening his throat, then said: “I heard your company has a cooperative relationship with the Deng Family. As you know, our Zhao Family and the Deng Family are currently at odds. I want you to delay a shipment to them by ten days or so.”

Pan Quan frowned, tentatively asking: “Is this your decision, or Big Young Master Zhao’s? Or is it the chairman’s idea?”

You couldn’t blame him for asking.

Up until now, Zhao Chen had handled matters like this, and Zhao Fei had never gotten involved.

So he suspected this might be Zhao Fei’s personal request.

What Pan Quan didn’t expect was that this cautious question hit a sensitive nerve inside Zhao Fei.

Zhao Fei was already dissatisfied with his elder brother and felt his father was growing more and more biased towards Zhao Chen, treating him as the heir.

Now, Pan Quan’s words seemed to give more credit to Zhao Chen, and that made Zhao Fei feel even more upset.

Zhao Fei’s face darkened, and he said irritably: “Of course, it’s my decision.”

Hearing this, Pan Quan breathed a sigh of relief. So it was just Zhao Fei acting on his own. In that case, there was nothing to worry about.

“Young Master Zhao, I have a business to run. My company has many employees who need to be fed, so I can’t fulfill this request. Perhaps you can think of another way?”

Pan Quan spoke calmly, his tone now firm.

At first, he had thought Zhao Fei represented the Zhao Family.

But once it became clear it was just Zhao Fei’s personal request, he didn’t take him seriously anymore.

    “You…”

Zhao Fei’s face turned red with fury, and he slammed his hand on the table: “You really won’t help me?”

“Young Master Zhao, I suggest you contact Chairman Zhao or the eldest master. If they agree, I’ll help you with this.”

Pan Quan said flatly. If Zhao Lianghe or Zhao Chen asked, he would definitely help. After all, Zhao Lianghe was the current head of the Zhao Family.

As for Zhao Chen, everyone knew he was the future head of the family.

Both of these men’s favors were highly valuable.

But Zhao Fei was a different story. Getting a favor from him wasn’t worth anything.

“Fine, fine, Zhao Chen, Zhao Chen! It’s always Zhao Chen! Remember how you treated me today, Pan!”

Zhao Fei gritted his teeth, stomping out of the office, enraged.

Pan Quan’s refusal to help was bad enough, but bringing up Zhao Chen had made things unbearable for Zhao Fei.

In everyone’s eyes, there was only Zhao Chen. Even his own father was biased towards Zhao Chen. Why couldn’t anyone see him?

    “Bang!”

The door slammed loudly as it hit the doorframe.

    “Chairman Pan, are you alright?”

As soon as Zhao Fei left, the secretary hurried in, concerned.

Pan Quan chuckled disdainfully, his voice full of indifference: “Just a brat throwing a tantrum. Nothing to worry about.”

Zhao Fei stormed out of the Northwest Steel Group building, his anger boiling inside him.

“Young Master, how did it go?”

Seeing him come out, the bodyguard waiting outside immediately rushed over.

Zhao Fei walked in silence, face grim as he headed to the car.

The bodyguard could tell from his expression that things hadn’t gone well, so he cautiously asked: “Maybe we should ask the eldest young master for… Agh!”

Before he could finish, Zhao Fei suddenly turned and kicked him hard. The bodyguard, caught off guard, was knocked to the ground.

“Damn you! Zhao Chen again! Can’t you tell who your real master is? Damn it! In all of your eyes, there’s only Zhao Chen!”

Zhao Fei kicked and cursed, his eyes bloodshot.

“Young Master, I’m sorry! Stop it, please! I was wrong!”

The bodyguard curled into a ball, pleading for mercy.

Zhao Fei stopped only when he was too tired to continue and yelled: “Get up and drive, now!”
