Chapter Index

Cheng Jin felt like he had fallen into an ice cave.

His whole body was cold, as if his blood had stopped flowing.

He deeply regretted, why did he jump out so early?

Now, he had kicked a steel plate.

“Young Master Ye, save me, Young Master Ye.”

Seeing that begging Xu Shaochen was useless, Cheng Jin could only turn to Ye Shilong, looking at him pitifully.

If Ye Shilong didn’t step in, what would others think of him?

So, Ye Shilong looked at Xu Shaochen: “Young Master Xu, how about giving me some face…”

“Do you have face with me?” Before Ye could finish, Xu Shaochen rudely interrupted him.

Ye Shilong’s face stiffened, feeling his dignity was hard to maintain.

Ye Shihu pointed at Xu Shaochen and scolded: “Xu, don’t disrespect me!”

    Smack!

Before Ye Shihu finished speaking, Xu Shaochen raised his hand and slapped him across the face: “Get lost! You don’t even have the qualifications to talk to me!”

“You…” Feeling the burning pain on his face, Ye Shihu was so angry his liver hurt.

Ye Shilong pulled him back, looking at Xu Shaochen and said: “Young Master Xu, be lenient whenever possible. If you give me some face today, I might return the favor someday.”

“Don’t worry, you won’t get that chance.” Xu Shaochen smiled faintly, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.

Ye Shilong’s face was as black as the bottom of a pot. He was really helpless against Xu Shaochen’s reckless attitude.

    “You, step forward.”

Xu Shaochen pointed at a middle-aged man who had been condemning him earlier, along with Cheng Jin.

    “Me?”

The middle-aged man looked around uncertainly, then cautiously stepped forward: “Young Master Xu…I…I was wrong.”

“Beat him. Beat him to death. Send him to the hospital to lie there for ten days or half a month, and I won’t hold it against you.”

Xu Shaochen pointed at Cheng Jin coldly and said.

    Cheng Jin’s face drastically changed.

    “Young Master Xu, this…”

The middle-aged man looked at Cheng Jin, then at Xu Shaochen, clearly in a dilemma.

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t hit him. If by this time tomorrow your company is still running, I’ll be impressed.”

Xu Shaochen patted his shoulder and casually threw out these words, then prepared to leave.

“Young Master Xu, I’ll hit! I’ll do it!”

Xu Shaochen had just walked less than five steps when the voice of the middle-aged man turned hysterical behind him.

    “Old Liu!”

Cheng Jin’s expression changed as he looked at the middle-aged man.

    “I’m sorry.”

The man gritted his teeth, said this, and then kicked the kneeling Cheng Jin to the ground, immediately following with a series of punches and kicks.

Within a few minutes, Cheng Jin’s face was a bloody mess, and he lay on the ground, curled up and wailing, his body convulsing.

Seeing this scene, the others couldn’t help but feel a sense of fear, as if the same fate could have befallen them.

    Soon after, Cheng Jin fainted.

    “Young…Young Master Xu.”

The middle-aged man surnamed Liu, drenched in sweat, nervously looked at Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen smiled, then looked at Ye Shilong: “Young Master Ye, this man has been beaten up like this. I wonder how the law will judge it. But you’re noble, you can’t cover up a criminal, right?”

    “Young Master Xu!”

The middle-aged man surnamed Liu’s face changed, not expecting that Xu Shaochen would go back on his word and set him up.

Ye Shilong’s expression was terrifyingly dark as he coldly said: “That’s a matter for the police, not something I’m qualified to interfere in.”

“Be more careful with your words in the future. Spend a few days in jail to reflect. It’s just beating up someone, you’ll be out in no time.”

Xu Shaochen nonchalantly said, then strode out of the hotel.

    The hotel was eerily quiet.

Everyone looked at Cheng Jin and the middle-aged man with sympathy.

Of course, they also felt a bit of relief.

    Thank goodness it wasn’t them.

After leaving the hotel, Xu Shaochen suddenly regretted it. Why did he leave by himself? He should have kept partying.

But a true man never looks back at the explosion.

Likewise, if he returned now, his style would lose a lot of its prestige.

    “Boss, heading back?”

At the hotel parking lot, Long Yi and Long Er were waiting inside the car.

    “Let’s head back…wait!”

Xu Shaochen changed his mind at the last moment as he received a text message from Zhao Fei.

A few minutes later, Zhao Fei opened the car door and got in.

“I need a private chat with Mr. Xu. Could I trouble you two to step out for a cigarette?”

Zhao Fei looked at Long Yi and Long Er, handing them a fresh pack of cigarettes.

The two exchanged a glance before stepping out without hesitation.

After all, even ten weaklings like Zhao Fei couldn’t be a match for Xu Shaochen, so they weren’t worried about him posing any threat.

    “Talk, what’s the matter?”

Xu Shaochen asked while checking the message, which said Zhao Fei wanted to meet him inside the car.

“Mr. Xu, the deal we made was that I would serve as your insider within the Zhao Family, and you would help me become the head of the family.”

“Actually, we could make it even simpler. You could directly help me become the head of the Zhao Family right now. If that happens, the Zhao Family will immediately withdraw all their plans against the Deng Family.”

In short, Zhao Fei was becoming impatient, especially after seeing his older brother bask in glory tonight while he was ignored.

“You won’t get what you want by rushing. I haven’t even figured out your situation yet. Be patient.”

    Xu Shaochen casually replied.

“Mr. Xu, I have a way.” Zhao Fei said.

Xu Shaochen raised an eyebrow: “What way?”

“Zhao Chen has an account book. It holds records of many shady transactions. If we can get it, Zhao Chen will hit a dead end.”

“You can’t even get it as a family member, how can I?” Xu Shaochen wondered if Zhao Fei had lost his mind.

Zhao Fei gave a nervous laugh: “Mr. Xu, my sister-in-law knows.”

Xu Shaochen looked at him with a dumbfounded expression: “Do you seriously think your sister-in-law is at my beck and call now?”

“It’s true she won’t betray my brother, but what if she finds out he’s cheating? The deeper the love, the deeper the hatred. Surely, Mr. Xu, you understand this principle.”

Xu Shaochen shook his head: “If it was in the past, she would have harbored a grudge. But now, because of her affair with me, she already feels guilty toward your brother. Her reaction won’t be as intense.”

“This…” Zhao Fei was dumbstruck. He hadn’t thought of that.

“However…” Xu Shaochen changed his tone: “Your plan isn’t entirely impossible. It just needs some refinement.”

“How should it be refined?” Zhao Fei’s eyes lit up again.

Xu Shaochen chuckled and whispered a few words into Zhao Fei’s ear.

Zhao Fei’s eyes grew brighter, and he gave Xu Shaochen a thumbs up: “Brilliant, Mr. Xu, that’s brilliant! With this plan, my sister-in-law will definitely hate him to death.”

“Now go, and don’t blow your cover.”

Xu Shaochen waved his hand, dismissing him.
