Chapter 983: Insane Zhao Fei
by xennovelZhao Chen grabbed Zhao Fei and beat him for more than ten minutes.
He only let go when he was exhausted and out of breath.
“Hahaha, keep hitting me! Go ahead, why aren’t you hitting anymore? Hahaha…”
Zhao Fei lay on the ground, his face bruised and bloodied, but he laughed madly, the mockery in his eyes growing more intense.
It’s a sad sight when even brothers can fall to this level.
“Zhao Fei, you’re nothing but a beast!”
Zhao Chen roared through gritted teeth. If it weren’t for a shred of reason left, he would’ve killed this bastard.
“Pah!”
Zhao Fei wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and struggled to stand, spitting a mouthful of blood at Zhao Chen’s feet.
“Zhao Chen, stop pretending. How much better are you than me? What right do you have to criticize me? You look down on me, huh? Today, I’ll show you that I can trample you underfoot!”
“Enough. That’s enough, Young Master Zhao. For the sake of everyone, it’s better if you just go abroad. Whether you study or indulge in pleasure, just don’t appear in the country again.”
Xu Shaochen intervened, stopping the escalating quarrel. The scene had already reached its climax; there was no need to continue.
“Do I even have a choice?”
Zhao Chen laughed mockingly. Despite knowing that his wife had slept with Xu Shaochen, his heart burned with rage.
But he was smart enough not to utter any threats or say anything foolish.
He knew that empty words were useless and could only bring about his own death.
“Young Master Zhao, everything’s been arranged for you. Leave now, or you’ll miss your flight.”
Xu Shaochen handed over an envelope from the table.
Zhao Chen opened it. Inside was his ID card and a plane ticket.
Zhao Chen checked his wallet and, as expected, his ID card had long disappeared.
“It was that female teacher who gave it to me.”
Xu Shaochen said casually.
Zhao Chen smiled bitterly. Reaching this point was pathetic and sad. All this, and he lost it all over a woman.
“Xu Shao, the road is long. If fate allows, we will meet again.”
With those words, Zhao Chen turned and left the private room.
“Zhao Er Shao, it was a pleasure working with you.”
Xu Shaochen stood up from his chair, straightened his jacket, and extended his hand to Zhao Fei.
“I owe it all to you, Mr. Xu. I’ll never forget your kindness.”
Zhao Fei quickly bent down and took Xu Shaochen’s hand, his face full of a flattering smile.
“It was all because of your hard work.”
Xu Shaochen patted Zhao Fei’s shoulder, then left with Deng Tianwen.
“Letting Zhao Chen go is like letting a tiger return to the mountains. Zhao Chen is much smarter than Zhao Fei. He will make a comeback sooner or later.”
After they left the room, Deng Tianwen voiced his concerns.
Xu Shaochen shook his head indifferently. “Do you think Zhao Fei will let Zhao Chen leave alive?”
“This…”
Deng Tianwen instantly understood.
Zhao Fei would surely finish Zhao Chen off. As long as Zhao Chen was alive, he’d always be a threat.
Just as Xu Shaochen had predicted, Zhao Fei had no intention of letting Zhao Chen leave alive.
He planned to stage a car accident during his journey to send Zhao Chen to his grave.
About half an hour later, Zhao Fei received a phone call. Seeing the caller ID, a satisfied smile appeared on his face.
There should be no surprises. His dear brother should be dead by now.
“Speak.”
“Second Master, the eldest is not in the car. It was someone else, a stranger.”
Zhao Fei’s smile froze. It took him a few moments to react. “I understand.”
After hanging up, he received a text message from Zhao Chen.
Zhao Chen: Zhao Fei, you really went all out. Thankfully, I had a backup plan. You’d better pray I never return, because if I do, it’ll be time for you to pay your debt.
Zhao Chen had cleverly swapped cars with a taxi driver for 4,000 yuan, which saved his life.
“Bang!”
Zhao Fei furiously hurled his phone to the ground. “Damn it! What kind of courage does a fleeing dog have to threaten me? You’d better not come back, or you’ll regret it!”
Though his words were fierce, Zhao Chen’s successful escape cast a shadow over Zhao Fei’s heart.
Half an hour later, Zhao Fei returned home.
As soon as he walked in, he saw Zhao Lianghe sitting on the sofa with a cold expression.
“You still have the nerve to come back?”
Zhao Lianghe glared at Zhao Fei with icy cold eyes.
Clearly, Zhao Chen had already told Zhao Lianghe what Zhao Fei had done.
“Dad, what do you mean by that? This is my home. Why shouldn’t I come back?”
Zhao Fei smiled as if nothing was wrong and calmly sat opposite Zhao Lianghe.
“Slap!”
Zhao Lianghe stood up and slapped him across the face, gritting his teeth. “You’ve really grown bold! Teaming up with outsiders to set up your brother? And who gave you the right to agree to those terms with Deng Tianwen!”
Feeling the burning pain on his face, Zhao Fei touched it and then looked up. Smiling, he said, “Dad, no matter the means, the fact is that my brother won’t be coming back in this lifetime. I’m now the sole heir of the Zhao Family.”
“As the sole heir of the Zhao Family, don’t I have the right to negotiate with the Deng Family?”
“You… you… How outrageous! How outrageous!”
Seeing Zhao Fei’s self-righteous attitude, Zhao Lianghe’s face turned pale with anger, his finger trembling as he pointed at him.
“Dad, you’re getting on in years. You should rest and enjoy your retirement. From now on, let me, as your son, take over the family’s affairs.”
Zhao Fei stood up, meeting Zhao Lianghe’s gaze, his smile growing brighter.
“In your dreams! If our Zhao Family really falls into your hands, we’ll be doomed for generations! I… I…”
Zhao Lianghe was extremely agitated, and as he spoke, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. Clutching his chest, he collapsed to the ground.
“My medicine… give me my medicine…”
He frantically reached into his pocket for his pills, but the bottle slipped out and rolled away.
“Medicine… quick! Quick, give me my medicine…”
Zhao Lianghe’s face paled, and he stared desperately at the medicine on the floor.
Zhao Fei instinctively bent down to pick up the medicine, but suddenly stopped.
Looking up at Zhao Lianghe’s increasingly pale face, Zhao Fei’s expression wavered. Then, with a hardening heart, he kicked the medicine bottle aside.
“You… you…”
Zhao Lianghe looked at Zhao Fei in disbelief, his breathing becoming more rapid and shallow.
“Dad, don’t blame me. Blame yourself. Why wouldn’t you hand over the Zhao Family to me? Even after my brother was gone, you still wouldn’t give it to me! How could I bear it? How could I bear it!!!”
At first, Zhao Fei’s tone was calm, but by the end, he was gritting his teeth.
Zhao Lianghe’s eyes widened with fury. After convulsing for a moment, he passed away from a heart attack.
