Chapter 546 – Eighteen Years Early Blessings (Update 4)

Early in the morning, Xiao Yu kissed the peacefully sleeping Mu Qingwu in his arms. Lin

He got up, washed, and began preparing breakfast.

The baby, now seven months old, had become even heartier when it came to eating.

Xiao Yu made a serving of dried scallop and vegetable porridge to feed the mischievous baby.

Knowing that his sister was struggling alone with the baby when he wasn’t around, he also prepared a heartfelt breakfast for her.

Once the love-filled breakfast was ready,

Xiao Yu smiled as he teased Mu Qingwu, who was clinging to him, “Come on, little mama – stop acting like a koala and get back to being human. It’s time to eat.”

    “Hmph!”

Mu Qingwu snorted in response, holding onto her younger brother tightly.

“Where’s that cool, proud attitude of yours…” Xiao Yu turned and lifted Mu Qingwu, placing her onto the chair at the dining table.

The happy, little sister beamed with soft, moist eyes as she watched her brother bring in the breakfast.

After the couple finished their “527” breakfast, they cleared away the dishes.

Xiao Yu then cradled the baby and began teaching him to speak.

“Mu Mu, remember – on every holiday, you must give mom a gift.”

“When you grow up and have a girlfriend, learn to be just like us – matching couple outfits, matching shoes for outings and for home, even identical toothbrushes, pajamas, and kisses.”

“Girls can be so moody. And if they start fussing, you must remember that us boys should just smile, no matter how fierce the winds may blow.”

“The key is, us boys must never act like sissies.”

“If Mu Mu could talk, he’d probably ask why, right?”

“Let daddy explain… All those childhood fairy tales taught us a lesson – how Snow White was persecuted by her stepmother, fled into the forest, and found refuge in a tiny cottage with seven dwarfs who, after hearing her story, took her in.”

“Later, after the princess ate a poisoned apple, the seven dwarfs placed her in a glass coffin, guarding her day and night until a prince’s kiss revived her.”

“Mu Mu, you see – this story tells us that no matter how well you treat a goddess, it’s just a prelude to an appearance by some handsome, rich guy, isn’t it?”

“So if we’re going to do it, we should do it as… big shots!”

“I bet Mu Mu will ask, ‘What’s a big shot?’”

“For instance, imagine a goddess as stunning as mom, who one day goes to a bar.”

“She would instantly become the center of attention; countless suitors would be itching to admire her beauty. Then, out of nowhere, Young Master Zhao would make an appearance, trying to act cool and shout, ‘Tonight’s tab is on me!’”

“At that, mom would look down on him with utter disdain, not even sparing him a glance. Enraged, Young Master Zhao would try to pick a fight, only to have daddy make a dazzling entrance with a big shot’s presence, delivering a slap and declaring, ‘You’re not worthy!’”

“Exactly – daddy is that big shot. So, Mu Mu, you must study hard and strive to be just like him, so that mom will love you all the more.”

    “Haha…”

Watching the silly pair of father and son, and seeing the little one daydreaming like a tiny goof, Mu Qingwu burst into giggles, collapsing onto the sofa in fits of laughter.

Her little brother was so silly – just as adorable as the baby.

“Mu Mu, look – mom’s laughing at the two of you,”

Xiao Yu, holding the baby and frowning, pointed at the laughing Mu Qingwu, “Sometimes, girls just can’t stand it when we boys brag about our little quirks, right?”

    “Yippee!”

The baby’s little hands and feet flailed about, dancing with delight.

    “But…”

Xiao Yu planted a tender kiss on the baby’s cheek, his smile that of a doting old man, “Mom had it tough carrying you. Mu Mu, grow up quickly and always be good to mom – pamper her with daddy and me, cherish her, and take care of her!”

    “Yippee-aye-aye!”

The baby giggled and clapped, as if in agreement.

Watching the silly father and son, Mu Qingwu felt an unexpected pang of emotion.

She gently picked up the baby and nestled into her younger brother’s arms, whispering softly, “Silly, Mu Mu is still too little to understand!”

    “It’s alright.”

Xiao Yu, embracing both his sister and the baby, grinned, “Then let’s record this moment. When Mu Mu grows up, he can see just how handsome daddy was in his youth and how beautiful mom always is. What do you say?”

    “Mm…” Mu Qingwu replied.

After tiring the baby out with playful antics and settling him into his crib for a nap,

Xiao Yu and Mu Qingwu retrieved the white shirts they had worn when they visited the Civil Affairs Bureau to collect their marriage certificate.

Once changed into them, the young couple exchanged glances, as if transported back to the days of their youth, their faces beaming with smiles.

Xiao Yu then set up a stand, positioned his phone, and turned on the recording function.

The couple sat before the camera.

“Hello, Mu Mu. Here you see what your parents looked like when they were young – handsome and beautiful, right?”

Xiao Yu smiled into the camera, “When you watch this video, you should remember…”

“The name ‘Xiao Mu’ might not sound too fancy, but your old man only graduated from the police academy with little formal education. We just combined our surnames to create it for you, so you can’t hold this against us.”

“I heard that just days after you were born, you’d smile. You had no idea just how happy it made mom; when you were six or seven months old, she wouldn’t stop giggling every day.”

“The only downside was that you were always impatient – you couldn’t wait even a minute for your milk, unlike your old man…ahem, well, that part is on me.”

“But you were so brave during your shots that you didn’t cry or fuss, sparing us unnecessary worries.”

“And now, it’s not just daddy’s turn to speak – let’s hear a few words from mom.”

Xiao Yu smiled and looked over at his wife.

With a teasing glance at her brother, Mu Qingwu smiled and said, “Mu Mu, I’m mom. Don’t listen to your dad’s babbling – you’re actually very well-behaved.”

“When you watch this video, my dear Mu Mu, you’ll already be eighteen.”

“Eighteen marks a turning point in life, the start of a brand new journey.”

“Your parents will always be here to protect you, but you must also strive on your own to carve out your future.”

“Though I hope you’ll be a great hero like your dad, I wish even more for you to walk the righteous path in life.”

    “Understand?”

Xiao Yu wrapped his arms around his wife and continued warmly, “All in all, your mom and I are so lucky to have you, and we hope your life will be nothing short of amazing. Our blessing to you…”

    “Happy 18th Birthday!”
