Chapter Index

After more than ten days sailing, Karl and his crew could finally see Beehive Island on the horizon.

    “We’re finally back!”

    “Throw a party! Let’s celebrate!”

Hearing the lively voices outside his cabin, Karl stepped out into the corridor.

He looked out at Beehive Island in the distance.

“Looks like we can finally get some real rest.”

    “Ma ma ma ma!”

Karl stretched lazily, turning with a soft smile toward Linlin standing beside him.

    “Hey, Linlin.”

Charlotte Linlin cocked her head, looking at him curiously.

“Do you know how to use Conqueror’s Haki infusion?”

Charlotte Linlin hadn’t expected Karl to ask that out of the blue.

“What’s up, Karl? You interested in learning?”

“From what I heard, only Captain Rocks knows how to do it.”

Right now, Golden Lion and the others weren’t at their peak. The only one on the whole ship who could use Conqueror’s Haki infusion was Rocks.

    “Is that so?”

“Looks like I’ll have to go ask in person then.”

Karl glanced over at the Jibeck, Rocks’s personal ship.

After landing, he went his separate way from Charlotte Linlin and set out to find Rocks.

    “Captain Rocks!”

“Karl, is that you? What’s up?”

Rocks had only just arrived at his cabin. Seeing Karl at his door, he stepped out to greet him.

Karl didn’t hesitate—he got straight to the point.

“I wanted to ask about the method for using Conqueror’s Haki infusion.”

Rocks looked Karl up and down.

    “Hahaha!”

“Fair enough, you’re the first mate now. Come on in.”

    Rocks led Karl inside.

He took a stack of papers out of a cabinet by his bed.

“This explains how to use the Conqueror’s Haki infusion technique.”

“If anyone else wants to see it, feel free to share it with them.”

Karl didn’t expect Rocks to be so generous.

He took the papers and skimmed them, then looked at Rocks. What surprised him most was that it wasn’t that Rocks was unwilling to teach—the others had just never bothered to ask.

    “Thanks, Captain Rocks.”

“If there’s nothing else, I’m heading out.”

Now that he got what he wanted, all Karl wanted to do was go practice.

    “Alright!”

Watching Karl walk away, Rocks muttered under his breath, then smiled mysteriously before heading back into his room.

“Let’s hope you lot keep getting stronger.”

After leaving Rocks’s cabin, Karl first made his way to Charlotte Linlin’s quarters.

Seeing Linlin out in the courtyard, he called out loud.

    “Linlin!”

“Karl? Didn’t you go see Rocks? How come you’re back already?”

Charlotte Linlin looked at Karl, puzzled. To her it felt like barely any time had passed—how was he back so fast?

“I got it. Let’s look it over together.”

    “Ma ma ma ma!”

    “Not bad, Karl!”

Karl quickly went over, pulled Linlin toward a bench, and the two of them sat down to study the papers together.

Before they knew it, deep night had settled in.

    “Gurara ra ra!”

“Karl, so what did you call me for…”

    “Newgate, come check this out.”

As evening fell, Karl sent someone to fetch Newgate.

Hearing this, Newgate strode over to them.

    “Mm!”

    “What’s this?”

The moment he glanced at the papers, Newgate realized it was the training method for Conqueror’s Haki infusion.

    He was honestly stunned.

He couldn’t help thinking—did Karl swipe this from Rocks?

After all, only Rocks could use Conqueror’s Haki infusion aboard the Rocks Pirates.

    “Karl, where’d you get this?”

“I asked Captain Rocks for it today.” Newgate nodded in understanding—so that was it.

“Don’t worry, he said anyone could practice it.”

“Actually, I still feel bad about all the money you spent helping me back on Liton Island.”

Karl felt a bit embarrassed just mentioning Liton Island.

    “Gurara ra ra!”

“Compared to this, that was nothing.”

Now that he knew Karl had gotten it from Rocks with permission, Newgate didn’t hesitate—he sat down and joined them to study.

    “Master Karl, the banquet’s ready.”

Just as everyone was fully absorbed in their research, a servant came over to fetch them.

Karl looked at Newgate and gestured.

“Newgate, come on, let’s eat together.”

    “Gurara ra ra!”

“Well, I’d be rude to refuse!”

After a hearty meal, the group got right back to poring over the Conqueror’s Haki infusion method.

Even if they weren’t at their absolute peak, they were still some of the most powerful fighters on the sea.

By the end of a night’s study, they had a solid grasp on the basics—even if they still needed a lot of practice.

    “Newgate, give it a try.”

Getting their hands on something this new and exciting, there was no way they could resist testing it out. With the sun already rising, the timing was perfect.

Despite staying up all night, everyone felt wide awake.

“Gurara ra ra, just what I was thinking!”

The group used Moonwalk to reach a small, isolated island near Beehive Island.

Standing on the shore, Charlotte Linlin watched Karl and Newgate on the island, her gaze lingering on Karl.

The two stood at the center of the island, facing off.

“System, now’s the time. Fuse Rocks’s Conqueror’s Haki with mine.”

    Buzz—!

A sudden shift in aura rippled around Karl. His eyes flashed red, and crimson waves danced before him.

A crushing aura swept out so powerfully that every living thing on the island fainted. Even the people back on Beehive Island couldn’t escape its reach.

“Hey, what’s going on out there?”

“Who’s blasting out Conqueror’s Haki like that?”

The unfamiliar surge of Conqueror’s Haki jolted the Golden Lion out of sleep.

    “Hahaha!”

“That’s Karl for you! His Haki just keeps growing stronger.”

Rocks was honestly pleased—stronger crew meant a greater chance of achieving his plans.

    “Look, the sky’s splitting!”

Everyone on Beehive Island stared at the distant island as a massive crack split the sky.

“Karl, you’re getting stronger by the day, huh.”

Newgate unleashed his Conqueror’s Haki too.

The collision of their Haki filled the air with a deafening sizzle that echoed across the entire island.

    “Newgate, here I come!”

    “Gurara!”

“I’ve been waiting for this, Karl!”

A rush of excitement curled Karl’s lips into a grin.

He sprinted toward Newgate, throwing his right fist forward, clad in Conqueror’s Haki.

Not to be outdone, Newgate raised the Cloud Cutter and swung it straight at Karl.

    Boom!

Sure enough, as their fist and blade met, they didn’t actually make contact.

There was a visible gap between them. Clearly, both had mastered the secret of Conqueror’s Haki infusion.

    “Gurara!”

    “Hahaha!”

Feeling that wild and unfamiliar energy clashing inside, both erupted in laughter.

    “Eight-Level Fist – Crushing Elbow!”

    “Quake!”

With such raw power on display, their battle only grew fiercer.

Newgate swung blade and fist, meeting Karl at close quarters.

Blurs and afterimages flickered through the air—their speed so great that the eye could barely follow.

    Boom, boom, boom!

Their fighting shook the island with thunderous roars.

Every creature on the island had already been wiped out by the sheer force of the clash.

After only a few dozen minutes, the entire island started to crumble.

    “Congratulations!”

    “To you too, Karl!”

“So this is what Conqueror’s Haki infusion feels like.”

“It’s even more incredible than I thought.”

Hearing Newgate’s praise, Karl nodded in agreement.

Conqueror’s Haki infusion was on a different level.

Golden Lion wasted no time—he came to grab a copy of the training manual as soon as he found out Karl and Newgate were practicing it.
