Chapter Index

“System, open the Thunder Tiger template.”

Karl quickly instructed the System to pull up the Thunder Tiger template.

    “Thunder Tiger:

Origin: The Chinese animated Zodiac Legend series

One of the ancient Twelve Zodiac

Master of Plum Blossom Villa. Skill: Vajra Demon-Subduing Fist (Modified version).”

“I wonder how strong Thunder Tiger actually is?” Honestly, after the changes, how powerful can he really get?

If memory serves, Thunder Tiger wasn’t all that amazing in Zodiac Legend. Even after a skill makeover, how impressive can he be?

“Vajra Demon-Subduing Fist: Body-tempering technique. Mastery can reach Admiral level.”

    “Now that sounds right.”

After reviewing the details, Karl nodded in satisfaction.

“This template came at just the right time. Perfect for White Tiger.”

    “Daddy, come play with us!”

He turned toward the door. Turns out, Katakuri had come running in.

Ever since Karl became ‘father’ to Katakuri and the others, Katakuri had started acting more like a regular kid again.

They didn’t have a father before.

Whenever their mother left, the older siblings had to be tougher and more mature.

That was the only way they could look after their younger brothers and sisters, especially since even Beehive Island wasn’t truly safe. But times had changed now.

    “Dad, what’s this?”

Katakuri ran over, curiosity gleaming in his eyes as he spotted three items on the coffee table.

A red gem, a stone, and a crystal—the Rainbow Stone, Zodiac Mouse Talisman, and Mokya Crystal.

    “Want one?”

Karl’s grin was just like a mischievous uncle trying to tempt a child.

He remembered Katakuri had already eaten the Mochi-Mochi Fruit. He was eager to see what kind of powers Katakuri could unlock.

    “Yes!”

    Katakuri nodded emphatically.

After all, kids are curious about everything—especially since Karl never acted strict with them.

As a result, none of them were ever afraid of Karl.

“Here you go. It’s yours, go have fun with it.”

Karl placed the red gem right in Katakuri’s palm.

    “Thank you, Dad!”

    “What’s this do?”

The moment Katakuri touched the Rainbow Stone, it started to change.

Under their watchful eyes, the Rainbow Stone began to glow with a gentle light.

Then, starting from Katakuri’s feet, the whole room began to ripple and shift.

    “So that’s how it works!”

Karl hadn’t expected the Rainbow Stone could trigger Fruit Awakening. But could it really…?

    “Let’s go outside!”

He knew this transformation couldn’t continue indoors—unless he wanted to renovate the place again.

He reached out his right hand, covered in Armament Haki, and scooped Katakuri right up.

As soon as Katakuri left the ground, both the room and floor snapped back to normal.

The two of them soared straight out the window.

    “Lord Karl.”

    “Good morning, Lord Karl!”

Once outside, he spotted guards patrolling. He greeted them with a warm smile and a nod.

Holding Katakuri, Karl quickly shot toward the Chocolate Forest by the shore.

“There you are, you lazy tiger!”

Even from above, Karl had seen White Tiger sprawled out lazily near the soda river.

He glanced at the repaired house nearby—no doubt Krell’s handiwork.

It could only have been Krell who’d arranged that. Karl could only shake his head and smile wryly.

“Eat, sleep, repeat. You really have reached the peak of tiger life.”

    “Father, where are we going?”

Katakuri looked puzzled. He didn’t understand what was happening to his body or where his dad was taking him.

“That red stone is called the Rainbow Stone. It can show different abilities depending on the user’s will.”

“But I never thought it could actually force a Devil Fruit Awakening.”

“Father, do you mean my fruit has awakened?”

Before Karl could finish, Katakuri cut him off.

Katakuri might be young, but he was never an unruly troublemaker.

Awakening is the final stage of a Devil Fruit.

Even the weakest Devil Fruits, once awakened, could become overwhelmingly powerful.

“So this is the Rainbow Stone?”

Katakuri clenched the stone tightly in his right hand, eyes gleaming with excitement.

He’d only wanted to play with his father, but because of this stone, he’d actually awakened his Devil Fruit ability.

“I honestly didn’t see this coming either.”

Even Karl was stunned by the Rainbow Stone’s power. It must have reacted in some special way with the Devil Fruit.

    “We’re here!”

“Take your time here and get used to your awakened Devil Fruit powers.”

When Karl and Katakuri landed, the ground beneath them began to turn soft and snowy white.

“You need to get a handle on this fast. You can’t have your powers going off all the time.”

Karl frowned. Staying in a constant awakened state was hard to control.

“Otherwise, you’ll have to put the Rainbow Stone away for a while.”

“No, Father! I’ll master it soon, I promise.”

Hearing that Karl might take the stone away, Katakuri immediately raised his little face in determination.

A chance to awaken a Devil Fruit—he had to treasure this.

He wanted to get stronger fast—not just for himself, but to help his parents and protect his siblings even better.

“Then it all depends on how fast you learn.”

Karl said with a mischievous glint. He knew exactly what Katakuri was thinking.

In the original, Katakuri was always the reliable big brother protecting his family.

Now, with such a golden opportunity, he wouldn’t let it slip by.

    “I will!”

Katakuri nodded and immediately got to work, familiarizing himself with his power.

Watching Katakuri in the distance training hard, Karl found a spot and sat down cross-legged.

    “Awoo!”

    “Hey there, White Tiger.”

Back when Karl was flying, White Tiger had already sensed his arrival.

    “Awoo!”

    “Alright, alright, I get it.”

Karl nudged White Tiger away as the big cat tried to lick his head.

“System, does gifting a template need the recipient’s approval?”

    “Not required!”

Satisfied by the System’s reply, Karl grinned.

This way, he could play the mastermind whenever he wanted.

“System, overlay the Thunder Tiger template onto White Tiger.”

    “Overlaying…”

With the System’s response, Karl watched as White Tiger started twisting and transforming with a flicker of amusement in his eyes.

“You pigged out so much, now look at you.”

As White Tiger’s chubby frame slimmed down, Karl couldn’t help but laugh.

He never thought overlaying a template could act as a weight loss program.

    “Awoo, awoo—it hurts…”

Watching White Tiger’s body writhing all over the place.

    Suddenly, Karl was stunned.

    “You can talk now?”

Staring at the now upright White Tiger, Karl was genuinely taken aback.

All it took was one template overlay—White Tiger lost weight and learned to talk!
