Chapter 158: Battle of Bloodlines: God Valley’s Fierce Showdown
by xennovelThe New Seven Warlords in the original story always seemed way stronger than their counterparts. That just shows how powerful the Lunarian bloodline truly is. No wonder Oda calls it the blood of legendary gods.
If I’m not wrong, the very first inhabitants of Mariejois were probably the Lunarians.
See, Mariejois didn’t have a floating bridge at first, and Lunarians are born with wings. With rumors floating around that Lunarians were known as the Clan of Gods, it’s clear the place originally belonged to them. They truly deserve their divine title.
Now it makes sense why Buckin was after Newgate’s and Karl’s blood—those with superhuman power.
“Got it! Now with Newgate’s blood, at the very least, I can clone a fighter nearly as strong as him.” After collecting the blood, Buckin quietly slipped to the other side of the battlefield.
And there, Rocks came into view.
Judging by her tone, Buckin clearly hasn’t been idle these three years. She must’ve forged deep ties with Judge Vinsmoke, since mAdS disbanded because of Karl’s influence. Now only Vinsmoke can clone bodies using blood.
Buckin must’ve realized Newgate’s and Karl’s incredible power stems largely from their bloodlines, so this was her chance. A chaotic battle is the perfect opportunity.
Only in a brawl like this would Rocks, Karl, and Newgate shed enough blood for her to collect freely without drawing suspicion.
“Hahaha!” Rocks moved with the wind, his robe billowing.
He slashed to his right, sending a hundred-meter blade of sword energy straight at CP0, crackling with Conqueror’s Haki.
“Divine Might!” Hill and Kong rushed over to help their ally.
It had taken all four of them to maintain a balance. If even one fell, everything would unravel in an instant.
But as Hill and Kong dashed to the right, a sly grin curled at the corner of Rocks’ mouth.
Raising his Black Dragon blade, he flashed like lightning toward another CP0 agent on the left.
The entire fight, while facing Hill, Kong, and the two CP0 commanders, Rocks had been eyeing the two weaker CP0 agents.
He kept probing with his Observation Haki, waiting for one of them to slip up. Finally, he seized the chance.
The CP0 agent on the left paled the moment Rocks charged at him.
After a brief clash, he knew for sure there was no way he’d last against Rocks alone. If not for the others backing him up, he’d have folded after a few dozen exchanges.
Damn, Rocks was aiming for that guy all along.
“Rocks, don’t underestimate us!” Fleet Admiral Hill rushed in for the rescue, yelling to divert Rocks’ attention while swinging his fist clad in Conqueror’s Haki.
Kong wouldn’t be outdone. He attacked Rocks from another direction.
But they were a split second too slow. Black Dragon’s blade swept past the left CP0 agent. In the next instant, his head came off and blood rained through the sky.
“Hahahaha!” Rocks hovered in midair, laughing wildly.
Watching the CP0 agent tumble to the ground, Rocks turned to Hill, Kong, and the others with a mocking smirk. “The four of you together aren’t even worth mentioning.”
“Don’t get too cocky, Rocks!” Kong shot him a steely glare and charged forward.
Kong unleashed a punch trailing a white shockwave, compressing the air in front of him. A tangible blast of energy shot at Rocks.
Fleet Admiral Hill and the other CP0 agent quickly joined in too, swinging fists and swords to clash with Rocks.
Rocks first dodged Kong’s attack midair, then clashed blades with Hill. At that moment, Kong closed in and threw a fierce punch at Rocks’ right cheek.
The other CP0 agent tried to ambush Rocks from the left, snapping a whip-kick at his waist—but Rocks spun and blocked it.
“Got you!” Even Rocks hadn’t expected this CP0 agent to hand him such an opening. Glancing from his miserable face to the corpse on the ground, a strange smile flickered across Rocks’ lips. Were those two actually friends?
He wasn’t wrong after all.
They’d both joined CP0 in the same batch and had a real bond. Seeing his ally die right before him, overwhelming grief crashed in, leaving him wide open.
But Rocks had been waiting for exactly that. He grabbed the CP0 agent’s left leg with his left hand, still wielding his sword against Hill with his right.
But Hill only managed to fend off Rocks for a few moments before getting knocked away. Rocks swung his sword with a triumphant snarl.
His eyes turned sharp as he locked onto the CP0 agent. He whispered two words. “Divine Might.”
In a swift motion, he slid Black Dragon’s razor edge upwards, its Conqueror’s Haki-infused power splitting the man in two at the waist. Half his body crashed to the ground.
Rocks let go of the mangled corpse and wiped blood from his face, a haughty, arrogant grin spreading. “Let’s hope you two don’t end up like them.”
“Damn it!” Fleet Admiral Hill cursed through clenched teeth, fury blazing in his eyes as he glared at Rocks.
Who would’ve thought the CP0 agent would lose his cool so easily? Rage clouded his judgment. Now only Hill and Kong remained—odds just got even worse.
“This is bad,” Kong muttered, frowning as he gazed at the two CP0 bodies on the ground.
Hill and Kong exchanged a glance and looked up at Rocks. They knew the balance had tipped for good.
But backing down wasn’t an option. Their faces steeled, the pair charged Rocks again.
Rocks might be overwhelmingly strong, but he wasn’t unscathed—the battlefield was already splattered with his blood too.
Buckin, though impatient, hadn’t found a chance to race into the fray. The battle zone was massive; getting caught in the crossfire would be disastrous. She just marked where Rocks had bled and waited on the sidelines.
Rocks swung Black Dragon straight at Fleet Admiral Hill.
With only these two left, he hardly saw them as a threat. In a bit, he’d be strolling right into God Valley itself.
“Don’t get cocky, Rocks.” Kong charged, fist wreathed in Conqueror’s Haki.
“Watch out!” At that moment, Xie Yuan was still wondering why, since he was the strongest present, Rocks would come straight for him.
The moment Kong rushed in from the side, Rocks’s lips slanted in a knowing smirk. He knew then—things had turned south. Kong must’ve fallen for a trick.
Xie Yuan raised his sword to intercept Rocks.
