Chapter 159: Fury at God Valley
by xennovel“Divine Might!” Neither of them expected Rocks to pull the same trick twice.
He unleashed Divine Might, sending a blade of sword energy hundreds of meters high tearing through the sky, forcing Kong to abandon his attack from the flank.
“Clang!”
“Did you really think I’d fall for it that easily?” Rocks’ left hand, wreathed in thick Armament Haki, clamped tight onto Fleet Admiral Hill’s longsword.
Hill never imagined Rocks would be so ruthless as to battle injury for injury just to beat them.
Swinging Black Dragon in his hand, he thrust straight toward Fleet Admiral Hill. Hill’s face fell, instantly layering his chest with Armament Haki.
But this blade, wrapped in Conqueror’s Haki Infusion, wasn’t so easy to block. In the next second the sword plunged straight through his chest.
“Admiral!” Kong, knocked back, saw the scene unfolding in midair and roared in fury.
“That’s the admiral!”
“Not good—we have to help the admiral now!”
The roar drew every eye on the battlefield.
Garp, hearing the shout, swung his Iron Fist and battered Karl away.
“What, planning to run away now?”
Honestly, even Karl hadn’t expected Garp to improve so fast in just three years. He couldn’t take him down in a short fight anymore.
No wonder, later on, he could single-handedly thrash the Roger Pirates all over the place.
Looks like Garp’s already reached near-sovereign strength. At this level, it’s not too hard to beat your equals, but killing them is a whole different story. You’ll need at least two or three others of the same tier working together to have a real chance.
“Ptooey!” Garp spat, wiped his mouth, then said, “Karl, our fight’s not over. We’ll continue this next time.”
Without another glance at Karl, Garp took to the sky with Moonwalk, heading straight for Rocks.
Karl didn’t try to stop him. Truth be told, Garp’s strength demanded all his focus. He had no idea what Jennifer’s plan was up to now, or how Borsalino and the others were faring.
So seeing Garp break away on his own, Karl finally let out a sigh of relief.
He just hadn’t expected Garp to be this strong. Turns out, it’s no myth that Garp and Roger finished Rocks off at God Valley.
“Rocks!”
With a roar, Garp drove his Iron Fist straight at Rocks.
Rocks flung Hill down to the ground with a sweep of his blade, then spun to meet Garp’s attack.
“Clang!!” A strange look flickered across Rocks’ face as he stared at Garp. “Garp, we’re both of the D Clan—why are you stopping me?”
Sensing Garp’s strength rivaled his own, Rocks roared in frustration.
His voice seethed with resentment. He couldn’t understand why someone else of the D Clan would stoop to serve as a Celestial Dragon’s lapdog.
“There’s nothing left to say, Rocks. The grand line can’t descend into chaos.” Garp’s face was unwavering.
He had to stop the rampaging Rocks Pirates now.
“Hahaha, I knew it. How could someone of the D Clan be completely clueless?”
“But we’ve chosen different paths.”
“So if you’re set on stopping me, come at me.”
Rocks knew Garp wasn’t truly willing to be a dog for the Celestial Dragons, and for a moment he felt a weight lift from his chest. But even so, he wasn’t about to quit now. He beckoned Garp with his left hand.
“Bone Fist—Meteor Smash!”
Garp hurled his Haki-wreathed fist at Rocks, unleashing Observation Haki at the same time to lock onto him without pause.
Rocks didn’t flinch in the slightest.
With a clash, Black Dragon met Garp’s Iron Fist head-on. This time, Garp’s Armament Haki held firm—unlike Hill, he didn’t get blasted away but stood his ground, locked in a test of raw strength with Rocks.
Garp hammered his blackened left fist down on the sword, knocking it out of Rocks’ grip.
Rocks didn’t hold back either. Twisting, he drove his right foot—coated in dense Armament Haki—straight for Garp’s chest.
“You may not be a true Celestial Dragon dog, but you still betrayed the D Clan by joining the Navy. I can’t let you walk away today.”
Rocks’ words were cold, his face twisting with rage. Today, he’d end Garp himself and cleanse the D Clan with his own hands.
“Rocks, you really think I fear you? Monsters like you don’t belong in this world.” Garp didn’t answer Rocks’ accusations directly.
Faced with Rocks’ onslaught, Garp retracted his left hand and swung down hard.
Fist and foot clashed at blinding speed, the air between them warping under their explosive force.
“Boom!”
The raw impact sent Garp flying back hundreds of meters.
“That’s power on another level.” Regaining his footing, Garp stared hard at Rocks.
He’d always known Rocks was fierce, but he hadn’t guessed he was this overwhelming. After three years of brutal self-training, he’d pushed his body to its limits—he thought even Karl was a fair match now.
But Rocks was a cut above, leaving Garp’s left hand trembling in pain, his face twitching as the ache flared.
“Clang, clang, clang!” Kong set the badly wounded Hill behind him. Seeing Garp blasted back, he rose again to engage Rocks.
The two traded savage blows, fighting tooth and nail.
Garp cracked his neck, then leapt back into the fray, joining the assault.
“Hello, everyone! It’s Mor Morris bringing you live coverage! Right now, the Rocks Pirates are attacking the Celestial Dragons’ sacred ground—God Valley.” Mor Morris stood before a Visual Transponder Snail, narrating the battle and beaming the fierce fight across the entire sea.
All across the Four Seas and most of the Grand Line, people were watching the stunning battle thanks to the Visual Transponder Snails.
“Whoa—so that’s the Celestial Dragons’ palace?” A civilian stared at the golden palace glittering in the distance, awestruck.
They’d never imagined what the Celestial Dragons’ palace might look like.
The Celestial Dragons only brought suffering. Most citizens of the allied nations lived under crushing oppression. Here, there was no real spirit or culture, only endless toil just to scrape out a meager living.
“There’s actually someone challenging the Celestial Dragons.” Another civilian, watching the Rocks Pirates battle Navy admirals, spoke in excitement.
After years of secret agitation, most people no longer trusted the Navy—and each recruitment call drew fewer and fewer volunteers.
Now, they could barely scrape up enough recruits at all.
Gazing at the battlefield, someone exclaimed with admiration, “The Rocks Pirates really are heroes!”
Those words echoed the thoughts of many.
All across the seas, people broke into applause and cheers. “That’s right! Absolutely!”
“Down with the Celestial Dragons!” The oppressed and runaway slaves watching were stirred to shouts and tears.
This spectacle caused a sensation across the seas. Years of hatred and rage toward the Celestial Dragons boiled over. People longed for true freedom, to break their chains—and the Rocks Pirates’ boldness was the spark that gave their courage new fire.
