Chapter 160: The Battle of God Valley: The Clash of Legends
by xennovelThe Visual Transponder Snail darted across the land of God Valley, first capturing the fierce clash between Kong, fists swinging, and Rocks.
Right now, only Kong and Garp were besieging Rocks, but with Garp’s sheer strength, they just barely managed to keep things balanced.
Their fight sent shockwaves through the battlefield, and dark clouds started swirling over the sky.
The scene shifted, revealing Newgate, Wang Zhi, John, Golden Lion, Charlotte Linlin, Kaido, and Karl. Each unleashed their signature fighting style and skills, locked in deadly combat with Navy vice admirals and admirals.
Newgate, wielding the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, was locked in a brutal showdown with Sengoku. Every strike from Newgate seemed to shatter the very air, leaving even seasoned veterans stunned by the spectacle of his Devil Fruit power.
“What kind of Devil Fruit is that?”
Newgate’s attacks were so overwhelming that every punch from his glowing right hand cracked the air before him like shattered glass. The force of it left Sengoku struggling to defend himself.
“I know, I know! That’s the Tremor-Tremor Fruit!”
An excited civilian stepped forward, lucky to have witnessed Newgate use this power firsthand before.
“I heard the Tremor-Tremor Fruit can do more than shatter space. It can also unleash tsunamis and trigger earthquakes—it’s one of the most powerful Devil Fruits out there.”
With this explanation, people around nodded, each lost in thought.
Silver Axe swung his giant weapon, the defenses around him impenetrable. His opponent, Air Force Admiral Kasa, managed to stand his ground—neither gaining nor losing an edge.
Honestly, Air Force and Army strengths just didn’t match up to the Navy. So an Air Force admiral was really more like a fake admiral—just enough to go toe-to-toe with Silver Axe.
The scene cut to Wang Zhi, who danced through the battlefield with a massive sword. His agile strikes and razor sharp technique let him weave between enemies, clashing right now with Air Force Admiral Udyr.
If you wanted the most intense part of the battlefield, Golden Lion was right up there among the fiercest.
Golden Lion slashed with twin blades and unleashed the Float-Float Fruit’s power, relentlessly attacking Air Force Marshal Skor.
Lion constructs formed from earth blotted out the sun, their blades whistling through the air as a barrage of sword aura rained down. Skor barely had a moment to catch his breath as attacks closed in from all sides.
Charlotte Linlin, wielding the Emperor’s Blade, clashed blow for blow with Zephyr.
Every exchange between them echoed with the clang of steel, the battlefield ringing with their rivalry.
“Ma-ma-ma-ma!”
“I hate fighting you,” Charlotte Linlin said, her face twisted in annoyance. Zephyr’s close-combat skills were flawless. She couldn’t find a single opening.
He was like a turtle shielded by an unbreakable shell, leaving no weak spot to strike.
Elsewhere, Kaido and Borsalino squared off with a crowd of vice admirals. Their fight wasn’t as explosive as the main showdowns, but they were still key players—able to tilt the tide of the battle.
With 200,000 Navy and nearly 100,000 pirates, their numbers were now dwindling fast.
The battlefield ran red, blood staining every corner, turning it into a scene of carnage.
Some Navy soldiers looked on in terror as their comrades dropped one after another. The pirates seemed endless, charging wave after wave.
“Don’t panic!” Nick called out, stepping forward. He knew morale was crumbling; most had never seen a battle this vast, and he didn’t blame them for their fear.
He glanced over at Kong, who still fought fiercely on the front lines. “The admirals are fighting with everything they’ve got—if they can hold strong, so can we! Charge!”
Nick roared and dashed at the pirates before him.
All around, Navy soldiers took his cue, looking to the battling Kong, Sengoku, and Zephyr. With grim determination, they nodded to themselves, gritted their teeth, and plunged forward, weapons in hand.
Down in the trenches, the fight had become pure physical endurance—a grueling test of stamina.
The longer the fight dragged on, the more exhausted both sides became. Still, you couldn’t ignore the freakish monsters lurking among the pirates.
“Thunder Bagua!” Kaido swung his spiked club, each blow sending Navy troops flying as he slowly pushed toward the center of the battlefield.
But now, Borsalino and his group faced their first real challenge.
“Yasakani no Magatama!” Hovering in midair, Borsalino’s body was wreathed in dazzling light as he unleashed wave after wave of energy blasts at the pirates below.
“Damn pirates.” Vice Admiral Julian hurled a punch, slamming Borsalino out of the air and into the ground.
Borsalino got to his feet, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and grinned insincerely. “Kowai ne!”
“Light Sword!” He clapped his hands together, then pulled them apart. A gleaming golden longsword materialized in his grip.
Throwing a look at Sakazuki and the others, he dashed forward, leading the charge against Julian.
Sakazuki and company had no time to relax either. Dozens of formidable officers—local Navy vice admirals—rushed at them, ready for battle.
“Let’s all try our best to survive, okay?”
After tossing out the warning, Sakazuki leapt into the fray against the vice admirals. Issho, Perospero, Daifuku, and Long Er exchanged glances—then followed him in, without hesitation.
“We’ve seen most of the battlefield already, so let’s check out the Celestial Dragons’ palace!” Just then, Mor Morris’s face filled the screen, apparently riding a flying contraption.
His view soared over the island, sweeping past the brilliantly gilded palace complex. From ships at sea, everyone gaped in wonder.
Mariejois!
“This isn’t good, Five Elders!”
“The World News Agency’s at it again—broadcasting another live feed!”
The doors to the Five Elders’ meeting room burst open, and a blond young man rushed in.
“What?” The Long-Bearded Five Elder immediately grabbed the Den Den Mushi from him and slammed it onto the table.
The next second, they were watching the whole scene unfold. Especially when they saw Fleet Admiral Hill unconscious in a corner, Kong and Garp forced back over and over, and Navy vice admirals barely holding the line—their anger was plain on their faces.
“Damn Rocks Pirates.”
“Looks like these old bones have to get moving,” the Tall Thin Five Elder said, eyes sharp.
The Middle-Aged Five Elder nodded in agreement. “If we don’t act soon and this keeps escalating, we’ll be in trouble if it reaches Lord Im’s ears. That failure will fall squarely on us.”
From how things looked, the Navy couldn’t last much longer. “Let the Holy Knights join the battle.”
With his legs crossed and hands clasped, the Middle-Aged Five Elder didn’t seem rushed. After all, the Holy Knights were supposed to clean up after the fight anyway, so joining sooner rather than later didn’t make much difference.
“I said we should’ve stepped in earlier—no point waiting!” The Bald Five Elder rubbed his shiny head, stood, and stormed out of the room.
The other elders exchanged glances, then followed after him.
