Chapter 166: The Shadow of God Valley: Annihilation Unleashed
by xennovel“So, it’s come to this?”
A deep, low voice escaped the Mysterious Man as he opened his eyes, stood up from the stool, and strode outside.
He pushed open the door and walked down a long corridor.
He entered a secret chamber, the whole room brimming with sci-fi vibes and crowded with strange instruments. If Karl were here, he’d think he’d traveled back to Blue Star again.
The Mysterious Man walked straight to the control console, his fingers hovering over an array of buttons. He reached out and gently pressed the red one.
“Vrrrmmm!!!”
A mysterious hum filled the air as something deep underground in God Valley began to turn. No one noticed the Celestial Dragons lying dead—their blood slowly soaking into the earth, draining straight into this strange machine.
The so-called ‘Celestial Dragon Sacrifice’ was a conspiracy from the start.
Im’s eyes fixed on a massive map, his hands zooming in until he tapped on a small island.
In the next instant, the scene within the island came into focus before him. The island Im clicked on was called God Valley.
When his gaze landed on a colossal giant moving through the island, Im’s lips curled in confusion. “Are you the anomaly?”
Meanwhile, in God Valley!
“What… is that?” Karl, locked in battle with several of the Five Elders, felt an ominous chill ripple through his heart.
He’d never experienced anything like it before—an overwhelming sense he might die in the very next instant.
He looked up and squinted at the sky. High above, something shone. “What the… Uranus?!”
In the world of pirates, only the legendary Heavenly King, Uranus, could project such lethal pressure before launching an attack.
“Aether Element—Soul Shaping!”
“Wood Element—Thousand-Armed Buddha!”
“Earth Element—Earthquake!”
The giant towering hundreds of meters came to a sudden halt. He stared at the Five Elders in surprise. But a moment later, thousands of titanic hands erupted behind him, each palm stretching several hundred meters wide.
“No, fall back!” Saint Saturn, already wounded and unable to fight, shouted urgently as the sea of giant hands came crashing down.
In an instant, thousands of Buddha palms slammed toward the ground, raising clouds of dust.
To make the island’s destruction even more convincing, Karl sent shockwaves through the earth with his earth element, splitting it open completely.
“Boom, boom, boom!”
Thunderous explosions shook the air.
The entire islet began to shake wildly.
“Falling Star Strike!” Saint Saturn ignored his agony and swung out a fierce slash.
“Whoosh!”
A single flash of the blade severed several of the giant arms.
The other Elders dodged the attack just in time.
“Doomsday Cannon!”
Karl pressed his hands together, aiming straight at Saint Saturn.
“You’re still fighting, even now? You’ve got guts. But this is your stop.”
A deep blue pillar of energy pierced through Saint Saturn, not even giving him time to react.
His body dissolved into nothing, vanishing from the air.
Nasjuro stumbled toward where Saint Saturn vanished, panic and grief in his voice. “No, Saint Saturn!”
“Spatial Slash!”
In a blur, Karl’s giant body was cut clean in half—but there was no blood.
Turns out, Karl’s giant form was made entirely of energy. The real Karl stood atop the giant’s head, calmly watching the Five Elders below.
“It took you this long to figure it out?”
“But, your power… I want it.”
That last attack had radiated outward from within the energy giant’s core.
If his senses weren’t wrong, Nasjuro right there was holding the Space Fruit.
“Tch. Disgusting.”
“Lowly commoners shouldn’t be allowed to wield such abilities.” Nasjuro’s face twisted as he glared daggers at Karl.
Saint Mars watched Karl descend slowly from the giant’s head, eyes full of rage. “Enough talk. Everyone, attack!”
It finally dawned on them—they’d been fighting nothing but an energy clone all along. The Five Elders felt insulted.
“They’re not strong, but they’re at least useful pawns.”
“Let’s end this circus.”
After operating the controls one last time, Im left the room. In his mind, no one could survive a strike from Heavenly King Uranus.
Back in God Valley, Karl felt that deadly pressure overhead and instantly fled for his life.
“Fwoosh!”
“Boom!”
As expected, a pillar of light shot down from above and obliterated Karl’s clone, leaving behind a massive crater that matched the clone’s size.
“What the… Lord Im!” The four remaining Elders exchanged nervous glances. The worst had happened. They’d actually alerted Im.
“What is that?”
The whole island trembled as people everywhere felt the force of that monstrous energy blast beneath their feet.
“The island’s about to collapse.” One pirate from Newgate’s crew stepped forward. He’d seen Newgate shatter islands before; this was the same ominous sign.
“What? The island’s going under?!”
“Move, move, move!”
“Grab everything—we need to evacuate now!”
Most pirates had lost any desire to fight and rushed for the Celestial Dragons’ palace, hauling off anything they could carry.
“Yahahaha!”
Pirates, led by the Lion, darted madly toward the island’s interior—if it sank, no one would ever get their hands on the treasure.
“Bloop bloop!” Sengoku’s Den Den Mushi rang from inside his arms.
“What?”
“Evacuate immediately.”
Sengoku hung up and abandoned his match with Newgate, instead rallying the Navy to organize a retreat.
He and the last high-ranking naval officers dragged their unconscious allies and bundled up the bodies of powerful friends—among them, most of the fallen vice admirals.
Time was running out; there was no way to collect every body.
Newgate didn’t fully understand, but given the previous attack and Sengoku’s urgency, it was clear disaster was coming.
Vice admirals and admirals broke off from battle to shield the retreat, while countless pirates fearlessly surged deeper, grabbing every ounce of loot they could find.
“What’s going on?”
Notty, Davis, and the others ducked out too. Watching the Navy retreat in the distance, they scratched their heads in confusion.
Davis watched the Navy evacuate, deep in thought. “It’s got to be related to that attack just now.”
“So, what do we do?” Fields, Sparrow, Long Yi, Borsalino, and the others joined Davis by his side.
“Our job here is done. We retreat—protect our ships first.” Davis made the right call.
The group quickly followed the Navy’s escape route back toward their ships. On the way, no one picked another fight.
As for the Navy, they held no interest in more violence—Sengoku’s message was crystal clear.
The Celestial Dragons planned to erase God Valley in just ten minutes. No one could afford to waste another second.
