Chapter Index

Karl began taking out the Devil Fruits, one after another, for distribution.

The number kept growing under his children’s stunned gazes until eighteen fruits piled up on the table.

Perospero and the rest were too shocked for words.

Most of them had already eaten a Devil Fruit before, but it was their first time seeing more than a dozen at once, especially all coming from their not-so-distant father. Given how seriously Karl valued these fruits, each one was bound to come with a special power.

Karl kept the Energy Fruit as his backup option, so he didn’t bring it out. Putting aside those who’d already eaten Devil Fruits, sixteen children had yet to try one.

Among them were Gala, Zikt, Ye Linqin, Ye Linshi, Ye Linming, Ye Linyue, Ye Linzhi, Effiry, Castarde, Angelo, Brolwhy, Ye Linyou, Ye Linhu, Ye Linxiao, Ye Linhong, and Ye Lindang.

Karl had actually hesitated about feeding his own bloodline Devil Fruits. Titan Strength alone was already a natural powerhouse, like an admiral. Eating a fruit might just add a weakness. Still, his mission was to make his family number one, so he felt forced to bring out the fruits now.

“Pick whichever you want. If something catches your eye, it’s yours,” Karl said from the head of the table, spreading his arms. Not every child wanted a Devil Fruit, so he left the choice to them.

“Father… Are you sure?” Gala whispered.

She honestly hadn’t expected this cheap dad of theirs would prepare Devil Fruits just for them.

Karl wasn’t keen on handing out the fruits so soon, either, but the longing for home was growing stronger every day. He wouldn’t let anything stop him from going back.

“Of course. Choose the one you like.”

    “Let’s begin.”

Karl sat with anticipation, curious to see who would eat and who would pass.

Gala reached out with a trembling hand and touched a white Devil Fruit.

From the moment she laid eyes on it, she almost felt the fruit was calling out to her.

Seeing that Karl didn’t stop her, she quickly snatched the fruit back and hugged it to her chest.

“Then I guess I’ll eat it.” Even as she held the fruit, Gala glanced at Karl for confirmation.

Karl answered with a warm smile. “Go on, eat it. Any one you pick is your own choice.”

Gala squeezed her eyes shut and took a bold bite.

    “Ugh!”

Her face twisted in disgust. She’d never imagined something could taste this foul.

But almost right away, she felt the power from the fruit take effect. She tugged her cheek with her right hand, and a white ball of dough dropped out.

The Devil Fruit she’d eaten was the Dango Fruit—the same one featured in the original story—granting her the power to control animals, and even failed artificial Devil Fruits.

The others also got started with their Devil Fruits. Zikt lucked out, scoring a Logia-type Cloud-Cloud Fruit.

“A Logia-type!” he cheered, leaping off the table and rushing over to show off to his older siblings.

“Hey, Perospero big bro! Katakuri second bro! Compote big sis…”

Perospero and the rest watched with envy. None of them had expected their younger brother to get so lucky with a Logia-type.

“Zikt, don’t rely too much on Devil Fruits,” Karl warned as he watched his excitement, throwing a dash of cold water on him.

Devil Fruits were strong, but in the New World, only Haki was truly something a top-tier fighter had to master.

While a Logia-type could definitely boost one’s strength, the strongest still relied on their bodies and technique.

“Got it, Father.” Zikt immediately ran over to Karl.

    “Rooaaar!”

    “Roar!”

With two dragon roars, Ye Linqin and Ye Linshi transformed into massive dragons, each over ten meters long, spiraling overhead.

One dragon was blue, the other black, circling above the crowd.

One had eaten the Azure Dragon form while the other became a Flood Dragon. Pretty lucky, really—to land Dragon-type Mythical Zoans.

Of course, whether Karl secretly influenced the process was anyone’s guess.

Effiry got the Puppet Fruit while Castarde ate the Poison-Poison Fruit, one Paramecia and one Logia.

Two more girls had their own luck—one ate the Mythical Zoan Nue Fruit, and the other took the Human-Human Fruit, Buddha Monk form.

Two daughters looked at everyone else retching from the taste and decided not to eat a fruit at all, while the remaining kids were too little to have opinions of their own and dropped out as well.

After handing out several fruits, there were still 15 left.

Looked like he’d just have to save those for future children.

With a big sweep of his hand, Karl stashed the rest into the System’s inventory.

“Alright, let’s head outside. Time to see what you all can do.”

Now that so many things were settled, Karl had plenty of time to train the kids.

Soon enough they all gathered at a massive training arena.

Krell, Davis, and the others heard Karl was going to spar with his children and came by to watch too.

Karl strode first onto the arena, taking up one side of the battlefield.

On the other side, Perospero and the rest of the kids lined up, ready to challenge him.

    “Come on, don’t hold back.”

Perospero and the rest didn’t pull their punches—everyone knew just how strong this father of theirs really was.

    “Lick-Lick Fruit: Slick-Slick Hell!”

    “Mochi Blade Egg!”

    “Poison Runway!”

    “…”

Attack after attack flew his way, each more bizarre than the last. Meanwhile, Ye Linqin and the others charged at him head-on!

    “No teamwork—a total mob.”

Covering himself entirely with Armament Haki, Karl dashed forward and closed in on Ye Linqin in a flash.

“Eight Extremities Fist: Mountain Shatter!” Ye Linqin saw his dad charging straight at him and burst out laughing, striking a pose to prepare—but before he could even celebrate for three seconds, a flying kick came right at him.

    Bang!

“Show-off moves!” Karl didn’t use any tricks. Just one flying kick sent Ye Linqin soaring, tracing an arc across the sky before crashing down hard on the far side of the arena. Karl even had time to look up and watch.

    Boom!

“Ow! Crap!” Ye Linqin clutched his waist, howling from the crater.

Perospero and the rest broke out into cold sweats at the sight of Karl being this ruthless with his own kid.

If that was how he played with his own blood, what hope did the others have…

Before they could think too much, Karl shifted into his hybrid T-Rex form and plunged into the crowd to start the chaos.

“Wood Release: Piercing Technique!” A wooden staff fell from the sky, heading straight for him.

Karl easily dodged, then shot a big grin at Ye Linyou behind him before charging over!

“No!” With a desperate shout, Ye Linyou met the same fate as Ye Linqin, sent flying through the air!
