Chapter Index

“Lord Perospero, we’ve finished the investigation.”

The next day, a member of the intelligence team brought a file and handed it to Perospero.

Perospero grabbed it and skimmed through, barely glancing at each page.

    “Lick lick!”

“Go tell Katakuri, Daifuku, and Oven. It’s time Rufid learned that provoking the Rocks Family will be the most regretful thing he’ll ever do.”

He slapped the file hard onto the table, grabbed his giant lollipop, and strode out.

Right at the doorway, he ran into Katakuri, Daifuku, Oven, and the others. Together, they made their way to Charlotte Linlin’s room.

“Mama, everything from yesterday has been sorted out!” Perospero handed the organized file to Charlotte Linlin.

    “Ma ma ma ma!”

“I trust you all won’t let me down.” She placed the file on her desk, hiding any sign of anger.

Now that they knew who the mastermind was, it was time for Rufid to feel the wrath of the Rocks Family.

“Yes, Mama!” Perospero and the others exited, leading a group of fishman soldiers as they set out for Liton Island in the New World.

Underground sources confirmed Rufid was presently on Liton Island.

With Oven’s Heat-Heat Fruit powering it, their modified ship sped toward Liton Island at incredible speed.

In just a few hours, they reached the waters surrounding Liton Island.

“Oven, you wait here. Don’t let anyone escape.”

“Got it, Perospero, big bro.” Oven stood at the harbor, arms crossed, radiating intense heat.

Perospero, Katakuri, and Daifuku led over a thousand fishmen as they marched into the island’s interior.

“Sir, the Rocks Family is here,” one of Rufid’s men whispered in his ear.

    “What did you say?”

Rufid’s face went deathly pale. Were they really here for him?

He’d been exposed this quickly? Damn!

“Sorry, I’ve got something to handle. I need to leave.” He’d come here because a big shot in the New World was looking to borrow money from him, and to close the deal, he personally made the trip.

He jumped to his feet, hurrying for the exit—he wasn’t about to let himself get cornered by the Rocks Family.

“Hey, Rufid, are we not doing this deal anymore?” called a handsome man.

This was the deal’s initiator, Carven Hendy, head of the Carven Family in the New World and the Red Blossom Empire’s crown prince. Determined to inherit the throne, he’d go to any lengths—including borrowing from Rufid.

He planned to use the money to build his own power, all to secure his claim to the throne.

“Let’s not talk now. I really have urgent business today. We’ll continue another day.”

Rufid hurried to the door, eager to leave.

    “Thud.”

Unfortunately, just then the main door was pulled open from the outside.

    “You must be Rufid, right?”

Though the words held a hint of question, the tone was confident, like the speaker already knew the answer.

It was Perospero. Though only seventeen, he already stood over four meters tall. Thanks to Charlotte Linlin’s bloodline and Karl’s serum, he’d hit another growth spurt—his real height might even reach seven or eight meters in time.

“Do you have business with me?” Rufid looked warily at Perospero. He was nervous, but tried to act calm, thinking he wouldn’t be recognized.

“I think you know why we’re here, Rufid.”

“When you sent word out, you should’ve realized this could happen.”

Perospero’s words set Rufid’s legs trembling—he hadn’t expected his deeds to be exposed so fast.

“So, what do you want from me?”

“You think just a few of you can take me away?”

“I’m only wary of Karl and Linlin, not a bunch of kids who still have milk on their breath.”

Information said Karl and Linlin weren’t on the island, so his confidence was sky-high.

Dozens more people jumped out nearby—Rufid’s own men.

    Clang!

Rufid drew the longsword from his waist. “I’m leaving this island today, and let’s see who’s brave enough to stop me.”

Gripping his sword tightly, he felt like he could face anything.

Step by step, he moved toward the door.

Perospero just stood, arms folded, silently watching.

“You’re coming with us today, whether you like it or not. And I never said you’d get to walk out on your own.”

    “Blade Burst!”

Dozens of black bullets appeared in Katakuri’s hands, flying at Rufid’s men with deadly speed.

    Thwack, thwack, thwack!

Over half of them died on the spot, but a small group fought back, slashing through Katakuri’s barrage.

    “Clang, clang!”

“Looks like a few surprises still left.” Perospero wasn’t shocked that someone could block Katakuri’s attacks.

What surprised him was how many could actually hold their ground.

There’d been more than twenty on the field—now, incredibly, twelve still stood.

    “Slick-Slick Hell!”

Perospero tapped his giant lollipop to the ground. The floor started to writhe and Rufid’s group’s feet became encased in solid candy.

    “Crack!”

“Did you think you could trap me so easily? Take this!” Rufid swung his longsword, breaking the candy apart.

Swinging his sword, he charged right at Perospero.

    “Dian Wei, Xu Chu!”

Daifuku drew the Ten Yama Halls from his back. Dian Wei and Xu Chu appeared like door gods, one on each side, rushing forward with their weapons raised.

    “Wave Slash!”

Rufid sliced through the air—a transparent blade of energy shot toward Perospero.

“Candy Shield!” As a man who preferred working in the shadows, Perospero never placed himself in danger.

He conjured a giant shield before him and slid to the side. Even having taken Karl’s Titan Bloodline Serum, his cautious personality remained unchanged.

“Whirlwind Strike!” Katakuri spun his trident and launched at Rufid.

To everyone’s surprise, Rufid acted decisively. He gritted his teeth, took the blow from Katakuri head-on, then used the momentum to try to bolt for freedom.

    “Mochi Prison!”

But Katakuri wasn’t that easy—within a five-kilometer radius, towering pillars of mochi erupted, trapping Rufid inside.

    “Clang, clang, clang!”

Inside the prison, Rufid hacked ceaselessly at the pillars, desperate to carve a way out.

But it was useless. Katakuri’s fruit had already awakened, and the mochi’s hardness now rivaled even seastone.

With Rufid’s strength, it was impossible to break free.

And as for his men—they’d all been wiped out. Now he was alone.

Katakuri stepped up to the prison and stared down at Rufid, still struggling. “Impale!”

Dozens of spikes erupted within the mochi prison, piercing straight through Rufid’s body.

    “Aagh!”

    “Damn it!”

“Keep it down.” Katakuri flicked his hand, smothering Rufid’s mouth with a thick wad of mochi.

Blood trickled from the wounds where the spikes had gone through him. Katakuri hoisted the whole prison and carried it down to the shore.
