Chapter Index

They immediately loaded their guns and aimed straight at the Happo Navy.

The Happo Navy spotted the Navy’s sudden movement right away and quickly pointed their guns back at them.

“Vice Leader, there’s a pirate ship approaching from behind!”

Sai, the current Vice Leader of the Happo Navy.

He’d spent years following Chinjao through countless battles across the seas, and now had a bounty of 370 million Berries on his head.

“Did you get a good look at who it is?”

The Navy wouldn’t take the initiative to attack them—but that pirate ship coming up behind, that might be a whole different story.

“Vice Leader, the ship behind us is the World Pirates!”

“What? What are they doing here?”

Sai knew the World Pirates all too well.

Their captain was Byrnndi World, possessor of the Moa Moa Fruit—an ability that could make anything he touched a hundred times bigger and faster, aptly named the “More More Fruit.”

His bounty was an impressive 200 million Berries.

And unlike those who just rack up bounties by wrecking a few cities or islands, World had truly earned every single Berry the hard way.

    “Move the ships aside.”

“Time to give those Navy guys something to deal with.”

With swift precision, the Happo Navy’s ships sailed in a sweeping arc, putting themselves and the onrushing World Pirates in a tense triangular standoff with the Navy.

“Sai, are those Navy ships here looking for you?”

“All the commanders are already tangling up front.”

“So what, you guys just gonna sit here and watch the show?”

Byrnndi World came striding up, catching sight of Garp and Chinjao locked in aerial combat, and couldn’t help but sneer.

And the instant he laid eyes on Garp, World knew—the Roger Pirates had to be nearby again.

Even though Roger and Garp hadn’t shown themselves in the New World for years, everyone knew about the deep connection between those two.

Honestly, he was a bit jealous. In the Four Seas, the Navy never went after the Happo Navy.

But pirate crews like his? If the Navy showed up, they had to run. Cross too many lines, and an admiral would come hunting them down. The last thing he wanted was a trip to Impel Down.

“And look at you, always lurking on the edge all these years. Not quite a man, not quite a ghost. Where’s your courage to step up and shine for once?”

    “…”

While the two traded barbs, Chinjao was just about out of stamina.

“Garp, I heard your son ran off to join the Revolutionary Army.”

“So I’m a Navy man, my son’s a revolutionary, and my grandson’s gonna be a pirate? Ha!”

Chinjao’s taunting finally made even the usually good-humored Garp lose his cool.

Dragon’s situation already weighed heavy on him, and now this guy was just throwing oil on the fire.

If not for the fact that Chinjao was the leader of the Happo Navy, Garp would’ve already taken his head.

Fine, if you won’t show respect, don’t blame me for getting rough.

    “Fist Bone Impact!”

Garp leapt higher using Moonwalk, his fist wrapped in Haki as he lashed out from above.

There were only a handful of people who could make Garp use Fist Bone Impact—aside from those long gone, only Karl and Roger were left among the living.

    “Impressive! Bring it on!”

“Eight Impact Fist Ultimate: Drill Dragon Spike!”

This was Chinjao’s strongest technique—the ultimate move of the Eight Impact Fist.

He coated his flattened head with Armament Haki, then launched himself upward with all his strength and weight, sending a shockwave through that hardened head, focusing all the force on one single, devastating collision.

    Clang!

    Crack!

The instant they collided, Chinjao heard a sharp crack from his own skull, followed by a spike of blinding pain.

His brain rang, his body went limp, and he crashed down toward the sea.

    “Hurry, save the Leader!”

Sai stopped squabbling with the World Pirates and immediately steered his ship in Chinjao’s direction.

“Vice Admiral Garp, that’s the World Pirates over there.”

    “Do we make a move?”

Bogart knew well—Garp’s real target was the Roger Pirates.

Why else would he have raced here from Navy Headquarters the moment he heard news about Roger?

At this point, Garp was one of the only men who would dare sail a battleship straight into the New World.

Plenty of folks weren’t exactly cowed by his reputation—some even welcomed the challenge. In fact, everyone aboard his ship was a top-tier Navy elite.

“Hmph, pirates are pirates. Since they’ve crossed my path, I’ll send them all for a stroll through prison.”

Even as the Happo Navy slipped away, a fire still burned in Garp’s chest.

Now that the World Pirates had stepped up, he’d gladly unleash his anger on them too.

    “Fist Bone: Meteor Crash!”

Without hesitation, Garp launched a furious assault against the World Pirates nearby.

He soared high, descending like a meteor straight at their ship.

“Move closer, back up Vice Admiral Garp!”

Bogart drew his rapier and sprang into the air with Moonwalk, following right behind.

The World Pirates weren’t like Chinjao’s crew—the Happo Navy rarely clashed with the Navy in full-blown battles.

But the World Pirates, they were true pirates with no affiliations whatsoever.

“Garp, did you really think we’d be an easy target?”

    “Moa Moa—Hundredfold Size!”

With a toss of his hand, Byrnndi World hurled a cannonball that instantly ballooned to the size of a battleship!

And those giant cannonballs came hurling one after another.

    “Sword Rain—Meteor Slash!”

Bogart’s sword aura sliced every massive cannonball to shreds.

Seeing his attacks fail, Byrnndi World leapt from his ship, golden gloves flashing as he clashed fists with Garp’s Iron Fist.

And in the heat of battle, he cranked up the speed on every strike.

    “Speed is power!”

    Boom!

Garp’s fist might not have looked big, but somehow he was the one overpowering Byrnndi World.

Watching the fight from afar, the Happo Navy retreated fast with the unconscious Chinjao in tow.

Some days your luck runs out, and today, Chinjao had run headfirst into Garp in a foul mood.

It wasn’t the kind of epic, drawn-out battle you’d expect—within half an hour, the World Pirates were either dead or scattered.

    Byrnndi World was captured.

Bogart approached, looking down at Byrnndi World lying barely alive and bleeding out on the deck.

“Vice Admiral Garp, now that we’ve nabbed Byrnndi World, do we swing by Impel Down?”

Garp eyed Byrnndi World collapsed on the deck, then looked out across the depths of the New World where the Roger Pirates had already vanished who knows where.

With Roger’s trail gone, tracking him down again wouldn’t be easy. That guy was nothing if not slippery.

    “Forget it. Head back.”

“Get this guy delivered to Impel Down.”

As they passed by, Garp couldn’t resist giving World a hard kick. This damned guy had wrecked his hunt for Roger.
