Chapter Index

“We should be somewhere near the Edword Sea right now.”

Indigo answered, his voice laced with a hint of hope.

No matter how many crew members they lost, as long as the Golden Lion remained, there was never true despair.

When the captain heard their current location, he felt a little more at ease.

He knew the Edword Sea was relatively safe—pirates rarely ventured into these waters.

Honestly, if he hadn’t heard that Roger would be passing through, he’d never have brought his ship to this godforsaken place.

“We need to repair the ship and restock as fast as possible.”

Though the captain’s voice was weak, it carried an unmistakable determination.

Clearly, he had no intention of giving up on settling the score with Roger.

    “Yes, Captain.”

Indigo nodded. He knew the captain’s orders were absolute.

The crew snapped into action, checking over the damage and searching for materials to patch the ship.

They needed to recover quickly here if they wanted to continue their journey.

Golden Lion sat on the deck, staring out at the distant waves, his heart a swirl of complex emotion.

He understood—this storm had changed his fate and the fate of his pirate crew.

But as long as he was alive, he had the chance to rebuild, to once again rule the sea.

The crew worked hard, knowing only with unity could they restore the Golden Lion Pirates to glory.

Repairs began, equipment was checked. They were preparing to set sail again.

As the storm began to die, Karl had already followed the Golden Lion’s battered pirates here to this deserted island. His gaze was sharp, eyes glinting with the hunger for victory.

“Shiki, why don’t you let me take care of the Float-Float Fruit?” Karl’s tone left no room for disagreement.

He hadn’t come alone—he’d brought Perospero, Katakuri and more than a thousand elite Fishman soldiers.

Each one was handpicked and rigorously trained, unmatched in battle.

The Float-Float Fruit was just too important.

Its power was nothing to scoff at—letting objects float in the air gave a massive advantage for strategic retreats or reinforcements.

If war broke out with the World Government, the fruit’s power could greatly boost the army’s ability to shift and support troops.

With it in his hands, Karl’s forces would be like tigers with wings, their might soaring to new heights.

Golden Lion sat on a huge rock by the shore, his eyes deep with thought, plotting how to rebuild his crew from the ashes.

The calm after the storm gave him a rare chance to catch his breath—time to plan ahead and reflect on what had passed.

Suddenly, a chill ran through him—an ominous feeling tight in his chest.

Golden Lion jerked his head up, his bright eyes fixed on the sea.

His instincts screamed danger was closing in.

Sure enough, dozens of pirate ships charged their way, their flags leaving no doubt—Karl’s Pirate Crew had arrived.

Golden Lion frowned. He knew how dangerous Karl could be, but their two crews had always stayed out of each other’s way.

But Karl’s intentions were obvious—this wasn’t just a casual visit.

Golden Lion rose from the rock. He might be battered and bruised, but his presence was as commanding as ever.

He took a deep breath, steeling himself for the coming fight.

“Karl, what’s your game?” Golden Lion shouted, his voice carrying on the ocean wind.

Karl stood at his ship’s bow, the glint in his eyes holding a trace of mischief.

“Golden Lion, I only came to see an old friend.” His tone was calm, but Golden Lion heard the undercurrents.

Karl’s fleet kept drawing closer. Members of the Golden Lion Pirates assembled, bracing for the sudden threat.

“If you’re here to fight, then bring it on!”

Golden Lion’s shout rang with defiance.

Even wounded, he wasn’t about to act like a coward.

Karl smiled faintly. He knew Golden Lion’s character and saw there was no avoiding this clash.

“If that’s how you want it, Golden Lion, then I won’t hold back.” His words cut cold and sharp.

Two pirate crews faced off on the shore’s edge, tension crackling between them. Both captains knew this battle could shape their futures.

Golden Lion’s pirates all drew their weapons, ready for whatever came next.

On the other side, Perospero and the others stood tall, their eyes burning with fighting spirit.

This wasn’t just any crew—they were facing another of the sea’s three great powers.

No one could afford to let their guard down.

“Thunderclap!” Karl’s shout rumbled like the storm, rolling over the deserted island.

He struck first, raising his hand high as wild lightning answered his call, slamming down toward the island.

Clouds gathered, thunder crackled. It felt like the world itself trembled at Karl’s assault.

The sky erupted as lightning fell like an enraged beast, hammering down on the shore.

The explosion was deafening, sending every creature on the island fleeing in terror.

Not to be outdone, Golden Lion unleashed the Float-Float Fruit’s power.

The earth surged around him, clods of dirt rising to form a massive dome, shielding him from the raging storm.

“Hmph, Karl, did you really think that would be enough to beat me?” Golden Lion’s taunt carried both contempt and challenge.

He began to float up inside the dome, his gaze burning with stubborn resolve. This fight was for his pride—and the honor of his crew.

Karl watched Golden Lion’s defense with the hint of a cold grin.

“You think that’ll stop me, Golden Lion?” he mocked.

He struck again, both hands slicing through the air, as the lightning became even more ferocious.

He was about to unleash a force that would break Golden Lion’s defenses for good.

Golden Lion saw the next assault coming and instantly poured more strength into the dome.

Karl’s power was nothing to shrug off. It was all or nothing now.

In the sky above the island, lightning and earth collided with a thunderous crash.

The animals scattered in terror—the whole island trembling under the violent clash.

    “Candy Hell!”

Perospero’s shout echoed over the harbor as he waved his hands, conjuring spikes of candy that turned the shore into a razor-sharp nightmare.

    “Mochi Bullet Blades!”

Katakuri followed up fast, dark mochi swirling into blades that fired like bullets at Golden Lion’s crew.

While Karl and Golden Lion fought it out, the pirate ships had already reached the harbor.
