Chapter 339: The Golden Uprising Over Mariejois
by xennovelAs the seas began to boil the Navy and a huge number of World Government personnel had no choice but to head for the Four Seas.
They moved to organize order and keep the Four Seas stable.
After all this was their foundation—it couldn’t be allowed to fall.
Once the personnel movements from Mariejois stopped, news broke out from within the city.
It was this very news that made Karl personally ride Skypiea and, bringing hundreds of capsules, appear above Mariejois.
Right at the very heart of Mariejois, golden manors stretched as far as the eye could see with thousands of meters between each estate.
Thousands upon thousands of Celestial Dragons lived here but after today, who could say how many would be left?
Meanwhile, over at the laboratory on Cake Island…
On the same day Roger was executed, the lab shared great news: the first batch of clones carrying Karl’s bloodline had been completed.
However, some people’s bloodlines mutated, resulting in greater strength—but that also meant a longer gestation period.
In truth, only 800 clones were fully developed and ready.
When these 800 succeeded, Karl didn’t immediately release them. He watched and waited for the perfect time.
And he’d been waiting ever since.
“Celestial Dragons, allow me to give you a little surprise.”
Small hatches opened beneath Skypiea; 800 capsules rained down from the sky straight onto Mariejois.
Each clone had a control system programmed into their minds: destroy. Wreck everything they saw until they died.
“The show’s about to begin!”
“Father, is this the big plan you talked about?” asked Ye Linlong.
Most of the older children had already set out on their own journeys, only four came along this time: Ye Linlong, Ye Linteng, Ye Lintian, and Ye Linxia.
The first two were thirteen, the last two were eleven.
Born with the Titan bloodline and having undergone intense training since childhood, even at their age they had combat strength at the level of a Rear Admiral.
So their sailing age had been set to just fourteen.
“No, this is only the opening act.”
“The real show hasn’t even started. Let’s just wait and see.”
As hundreds of capsules plunged straight downward, the friction howled through the sky, catching the attention of the alert guards below.
“What is that? Stay on alert!”
“Quick, protect the Celestial Dragons!”
The Enforcers, seeing objects falling from the sky, immediately herded the Celestial Dragons toward the manors where the security was tighter.
White-clad and black-clad personnel started pouring onto the main roads.
These were the Celestial Dragons’ personal guards and World Government operatives.
Bang!
Seconds ticked by. As the first capsule slammed into the ground, the Celestial Dragons’ nightmare began.
More and more capsules pounded the lands of Mariejois.
Every place a capsule struck, it blasted a deep crater into the earth.
If luck was on your side, it’d hit a road or a wall—not so lucky and you might get flattened by one right on top of you.
Right away, a considerable number of Celestial Dragons were killed where they stood.
“Doctor! Someone call a doctor! A Celestial Dragon is hurt!”
“Hurry, get Lord Ross Saint into treatment!”
Scores of Celestial Dragons were wounded by the force of the capsule strikes.
Countless medical staff swarmed out from all the manors, rushing the injured into safety for treatment.
“Watch out!”
Just as a warning echoed, a Celestial Dragon being carried on a stretcher was lifted in the air by a golden giant.
And in that instant, he was torn in half—blood splattered everywhere.
The golden giant had stepped right out from one of the capsules.
Each clone stood 8.8 meters tall, wearing only a white tank top and white shorts. The rest of their skin was bare, flowing with golden light, like gods descending to earth.
While the guards stared in shock, the golden giant didn’t stop. He seized the nearest medical personnel and simply ripped them apart as well.
“They’re invaders! Attack!”
Jarred awake, the guards surged forward, swinging their weapons at the golden giants ahead.
Clang clang clang!
Only, when their blades struck the giant’s body, instead of cutting, all that rang out was metal scraping and another blade snapped clean in two.
As for the golden giant himself, he swiped a hand over the white marks left from those shallow blows, looking bored.
Grinning wide, he snatched up several men in suits, squeezed his fist, crushing them into pancakes and tossing them aside like so much trash.
“Too weak. You can’t even scratch an itch.”
He rolled his neck, then strode on—smashing buildings, flattening everyone he encountered, nothing in his path survived.
If any person or animal glared at him with malice, the golden giant would instantly erase that disgusting presence from the world.
Rumble rumble!
As more golden giants poured from their capsules, Mariejois transformed into a massive battlefield in seconds.
Boom!
One golden giant, reaching the manor gates, was blasted backward by a single blow from an old man with white hair.
“Who are you people?”
The white-haired old man immediately caught Karl’s attention.
“Isn’t that Marcus—Saint Mars?”
“Didn’t expect to stumble right into his home.”
That’s right, the old man was none other than one of the Five Elders.
Even Karl himself hadn’t expected the Five Elders to live not in the center castle, but here on the outskirts.
“Could it be he’s hiding a mistress or a secret lover out here?”
Karl stroked his chin, looking puzzled.
According to what he’d learned, the Five Elders all moved into the castle as soon as they were appointed.
Seeing him outside now, it sure looked like he had something to hide.
Sure enough, the next second a woman, clearly in a hurry and only half-dressed, rushed out of the manor with several guards, heading off to another estate further away.
“Tsk tsk, still playing wild after all these years!” Karl said with a smirk, clapping lightly.
Down below, the golden giant who’d been knocked aside got up from the ruined stonework, completely unscathed.
“Die!”
Even though it was just a casual strike from the Elder, it made the golden giant wince in pain.
With big strides he swung his golden fists, where golden, sakura-like liquid shimmered faintly on his skin.
When each golden giant first emerged from the capsule, they were nothing more than newborns.
All they had in their minds was the method to train Haki in all three colors.
But to truly master it, they had to grasp it in battle.
To everyone’s surprise, that casual strike from the Elder actually made the golden giant realize the highest level of Armament Haki—Ryuo.
It showed just how perfectly these golden giants inherited Karl’s bloodline power.
The process took a long time though. Even with Dr. Vegapunk’s modifications, each batch still needed ten years to bring to fruition.
And every round of new warriors drained an enormous amount of resources.
Right now, for the second batch on Cake Island, only two thousand capsules were being prepared.
“You deaf or something?”
“Damn it, what the hell are you creatures?”
After a few brief clashes, the Elder could already sense the golden giant’s wild strength—and that unbreakable body.
