Chapter Index

As more and more bubbles rose on the surface of the sea, it looked like some enormous creature was about to burst out. Ripple after ripple spread across the water.

“Report! Shadows sighted on the seafloor inside the bay!”

The lookout above immediately reported what he saw in the heart of the bay.

    “Could it be…?”

Even the navy officers present found it hard to believe.

“So that’s it… All their ships were coated and came from underwater?”

    Whoosh!!!

With a thunderous noise, a colossal pirate ship shot out of the water. It stretched nearly 700 meters long, with a bottom width of 150 meters and masts combined for almost 300 meters, making its total height a staggering 450 meters. At 80 meters wide, it could house 1,600 people—truly the world’s unrivaled giant ship, the Moby Dick!

“That’s the Moby Dick! The Whitebeard Pirates are here!”

After that first massive ship burst from the sea, three more followed close behind. Each pointed in a different direction, smaller than the Moby Dick by two whole sizes but still far larger than any standard navy warship.

The first ship to break through belonged to Whitebeard himself. Its entire hull gleamed blue and white and the figurehead was pure white. The others had black-and-white hulls with black figureheads.

“They’ve invaded straight into the inner sea.”

Marineford, home of Navy Headquarters, was more an enormous crescent-shaped fortress, with its heart being the inner sea.

    “What’s that?”

“That’s Marco, the First Division Commander!”

“All 14 commanders are here! Every last one!”

    Clang, clang, clang…

A faint flurry of footsteps echoed through the silent Navy Headquarters. The presence alone was so imposing that everyone on scene tensed instinctively. Even the air seemed thick with murderous intent.

The sheer pressure made some navy elites swallow hard without realizing it.

    “La la la la…”

“It’s been what, decades since we last met, Sengoku?”

The world’s undisputed strongest man—Whitebeard, Edward Newgate!

    Sengoku said, “Whitebeard!”

“My beloved son—he’s all right, isn’t he?”

    “Gulp…”

Just a couple brief sentences and everyone on site felt like they couldn’t breathe under the weight.

“Who would have thought he’d make it this close…”

Ivankov said, “They got through the gate. What I really want to know now is—has your father arrived yet?”

As a high-ranking Revolutionary Army commander, he was privy to a few secrets.

    “Father?”

Since the day he was born, Luffy had never once seen his father. So when Ivankov mentioned him, Luffy couldn’t help but get curious.

Ivankov crouched down, lowering his voice to Luffy. “Ace—your own flesh and blood—is about to be executed. Don’t you think your father would just let that happen? Never.”

“Ah, but Ace and I don’t have the same father.”

“My dad is Dragon, but Ace’s dad… is Roger.”

At the mention of Roger, Ivankov’s eyebrows twitched and he cracked a knowing smile.

“Someone that incredible… and you’ve never met him?”

“But you know, if Ace heard about this, he’d totally freak out. And remember—this has to be kept secret.”

The entire crew let out a shocked yell, “WHAT?!”

“Wait for me, Ace.” Whitebeard gazed tenderly up at Ace kneeling not too far away atop the execution stand.

    “OYAAJIIII!”

Ace shouted, realizing that chasing Blackbeard really had dragged the entire Whitebeard Pirates into such massive trouble.

    Clang!

Whitebeard thrust his Cloud Cutter sword into the deck, clenching his fists crossed over his chest. With a sudden swing, he struck the air around him.

    Crack! Crack!

In the blink of an eye, countless white cracks appeared—shattering the very air itself.

    “Nanda to!”

“What the heck is that? Why are there so many cracks everywhere?!”

Most of these marines had never set foot in the New World, let alone seen Whitebeard in action. They had no clue this was the power of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit.

Seconds later, the sea around them rose in enormous waves, ready to crush Marineford to pieces.

Koby stared in disbelief at the towering walls of water on both sides. “How did an explosion like that even happen?!”

Bellamy jumped in, “Oh crap, look how high the water’s climbing!”

“He caused a seaquake—he’s shaking the whole ocean!”

Even Sengoku was shaken. He’d fought Whitebeard before, but those battles happened on islands or the open sea. This technique had never shown such terrifying power before.

    “So this is Whitebeard’s power…”

“It’s happening on the other side too!”

    “Hurry! Take emergency cover!”

A swarm of marines sprinted toward the inner bay, desperate to escape the force of the oncoming waves.

At the same time, Revolutionaries across the Four Seas got word from Navy Headquarters—the Summit War had officially started, signaling the launch of the army’s campaign across all Four Seas.

Whitebeard’s move reminded Ace of a question he’d once asked Marco.

[Ace: Hey, why do you all call him Pops?]

[Marco: Because he calls us sons. We’re the kind of people this world hates most. Just hearing him call us that… it makes us happy—really happy!]

Ace glared at Whitebeard, the vertical scar across Whitebeard’s chest visible. Fury burned in Ace’s eyes. “Stop lying! Cut it out with the fake talk! You stopped me back then, you know it! I…”

“I told you to go.” Whitebeard cut him off and turned, as if to confirm. “I told you to go, didn’t I, Marco?”

“Yeah, I heard it too. You had a tough time, Ace.”

“In these seas, everyone ought to know what happens when you go after one of our own!”

Marco narrowed his eyes, sweeping his gaze over the navies assembled before them.

“No one who hurts you gets away, Ace! Not a single one!”

“Just hang in there—we’re coming to break you out!”

    “Prepare yourselves, Navy Headquarters!”

Out on these seas, the Whitebeard Pirates are a true family—bound by loyalty and friendship. Anyone who dares to hurt them is in for a world of trouble.

“We’ve really brought in a terrifying bunch, haven’t we?”

Tradis, sporting a pair of sunglasses, eyed the crowds of shouting pirates in the inner sea with a scowl.

“Now’s not the time for complaining,” Udyr replied gruffly, muscles bulging.

    “This situation’s way too tense.”

Two marines standing by the shore stared at the shifting waters. “The sea’s level is dropping!”

The tremors kept spreading. In the distance, Luffy’s group was rushing toward the battlefield but got blasted back by a massive gust. Marineford, which they’d just glimpsed up close, shrank into a tiny speck again.

Finally, after two and a half minutes, everything settled down.

Jinbei felt the waves’ power surging through the ocean beneath him, eyes narrowing thoughtfully.

Galdino grumbled, “At this rate, when will we ever get to Marineford?!”

    “Wh-what happened?!”

    Bang!

Buggy’s lower half went flying, crashing into the anti-ship cannon behind him.

Luffy instantly turned to Ye Fan and Jinbei. With a Fishman aboard and someone he thought had special powers, there was sure to be a way to supercharge their ship’s speed.

“Hey, Ye Fan, Jinbei! We won’t save Ace if we don’t pick up the pace!”

    “Wagatta!”

Franky was freaking out too, already down in the engine room to check on the propulsion system. But their Coup de Vent Cannon had been running nonstop. If it kept going like this, the whole ship might fall apart.

“Hey Jinbei, you’re not thinking about using your Fish-Man Karate, or maybe calling in the Sea Kings, right?”
