Chapter 88: Storm on Punk Hazard: The Titan’s Wrath
by xennovelOn Punk Hazard.
With everyone else caught up in the fight, only Jennifer remained, sitting among the rubble.
“Buru buru!”
She heard the Transponder Snail’s ring and turned to look at it.
Standing up she walked over, picked it up and listened, her face full of confusion at the voice coming from the line.
“Who is this?”
Hearing a woman’s voice on the other end, Krell was thrown off, pulled the receiver away, checked the number—no mistake.
But now wasn’t the time to dwell on it, so he quickly asked,
“Who are you?”
“Is Lord Karl there? I have urgent business with Lord Karl.”
Jennifer looked over to Karl standing at the center of the battlefield.
She shook her head, then spoke into the Transponder Snail.
“Captain Karl, right? He isn’t exactly free at the moment.”
“If it’s not urgent, you can tell me. I’ll pass the message along.”
Krell, hearing her reply, knew he’d dialed the right number. He quickly explained the situation as concisely as possible.
Jennifer immediately understood how serious it was. Her expression turned grave.
“Understood. I’ll notify Captain Karl right away.”
“Thank you so much.”
“Click!”
Jennifer hung up and stood atop the rubble, listening to the distant rumble of explosions.
With nothing else to do, she cupped her hands to her mouth and shouted toward Karl.
“Captain Karl!”
“Big emergency!”
“Your wife went into early labor!”
Karl heard Jennifer’s shout, and for a split second, a jolt of electricity shot through his mind. He froze in place.
He stood there dumbfounded, but Sengoku seized the chance. With a glint in his eyes, he delivered a whip kick that sent Karl flying hundreds of meters.
“Boom!”
“Zzz…”
After sliding across the ground for several hundred meters, Karl rolled to his feet and looked back at Jennifer.
Davis and the others had also heard Jennifer’s call. They quickly pushed back the Navy soldiers in front of them and rushed to Jennifer’s side as she quietly explained the situation.
Karl trusted his ears — he was certain he hadn’t misheard.
Why did Linlin go into early labor? What had happened?
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.
No, he couldn’t keep fighting like this. He needed to end this quickly.
Standing his ground, Karl looked up and quietly stared at Garp and Sengoku.
Sengoku immediately sensed something was wrong. Karl’s aura grew more intense by the second.
If he hadn’t misheard, then Karl’s wife was in trouble.
Sengoku glanced at Garp beside him.
“Something’s off. Stay sharp.”
“You all get to the ship.”
“Thunder Titan!”
Karl turned to the people at the shoreline and shouted, then threw his head back and let out a piercing howl.
Thunderclouds gathered overhead, thick and heavy, crackling with electricity.
His golden form ballooned up to fifty meters, revealing his true Titan Form—this was the peak of his strength.
He stretched out his right hand, drawing thick bolts of lightning from the sky to form a gleaming suit of lightning armor over his body.
“Go!”
Davis and the others heard Karl’s furious roar and immediately shielded Jennifer as they hurried toward the ships.
“Thunderbolt Barrage!”
“Get behind me! Now!”
Sengoku’s face fell.
Seeing Karl’s stance and hearing him shout the name of the attack, Sengoku recognized it—this was the same move that shattered his Great Buddha Form at the start, only now the lightning was far stronger.
Jeremy and the others panicked at Sengoku’s words; they’d never seen him look so alarmed.
They didn’t hesitate—they all dashed behind Sengoku.
“Radiant Buddha Light!”
Sengoku stepped in front of everyone and summoned a gigantic golden shield.
He couldn’t fall back—thousands of Navy soldiers were right behind him.
“Prepare to die!”
In a flash Karl thrust out his right hand, seizing the roaring lightning waterfall from the sky and hurling it straight at Sengoku and the others.
“Crackle! Crackle!”
A lightning waterfall, dozens of meters wide, crashed toward the group.
Feeling the crushing power of the lightning, Sengoku’s expression grew grim. He immediately ordered everyone to use Armament Haki to defend.
After unleashing the attack, Karl shrank back down, spun on his heel and flew straight for the Azure Dragon.
He could sense a powerful force lurking behind the Navy branch, but now wasn’t the time to care.
Following his orders, the group raised the sails. As they sailed, the entire ship was enveloped in the Golden Light Spell and lifted into the sky.
“Rumble!”
A thunderous boom echoed from behind—a massive shockwave, crackling with electricity, tore through the Navy branch.
Fortunately, Sengoku had raised a shield in front, sheltering the surviving Navy soldiers from the storm.
Halil crouched behind the railings at the back of the Azure Dragon.
He watched as the massive lightning shockwave battered the Navy branch in the distance.
His eyes were filled with challenge.
Even though he knew he wasn’t a match for Karl, at this moment the person he most wanted to challenge was Karl.
If not for the circumstances, he’d have gone up against Karl right now, just to test the might of a true powerhouse.
“If that out-of-the-blue disaster hadn’t struck… who knows what would have happened.”
Sengoku watched the ship flying through the air, then at the devastated island below.
“The battle is over.”
“Get the wounded treated!”
The surviving Navy soldiers sprang into action, carrying their gravely wounded comrades to the infirmary.
“Bull…no!”
As they gathered the fallen, some Navy soldiers broke down in tears at the sight of their old friends who’d died.
They took the dog tags from those who had fallen in battle.
Their stories would be recorded in Navy history.
Sengoku and the others walked into a battered hall, gazed at the dejected crowd and tried to lift their spirits.
“If you all hadn’t come to help, this branch might’ve been wiped out—even worse…”
Everyone understood what Sengoku meant—if they hadn’t arrived in time, there’d have been no one left to mourn.
Sander clenched his fists in frustration, overwhelmed by helplessness and resentment.
“It’s a shame we were still a little too late. Upton and Watt didn’t make it.”
Sander had been close with those two. Losing comrades was agony for him.
“This is my fault.”
“Karl came for revenge on me—they got caught in the crossfire.”
Garp cut in at once.
“Don’t say that, Sengoku. It’s my responsibility too.”
“Chasing pirates is what the Navy is supposed to do.”
Seeing Sengoku’s guilty expression, Garp felt just as awful.
“Alright, let’s clean up the battlefield as quickly as possible.”
“I’ll inform Fleet Admiral Hill.”
They left the ruined hall and began organizing the busy Navy forces.
Only by keeping busy could they momentarily forget the pain of losing their comrades.
“Understood. I’ll handle it.”
When Fleet Admiral Hill heard the full story and outcome, he didn’t blame Sengoku.
Karl’s ambush had caught them completely off guard, but he knew it wasn’t Sengoku’s fault.
The blame lay with Karl alone.
“Increase Karl’s bounty by two billion Berries.”
“Yes, Fleet Admiral Hill!”
The runner at the door instantly relayed the order to the communications department.
Meanwhile, out at sea, Karl was pushing the Azure Dragon to the limit with the Golden Light Spell, racing toward Beehive Island.
On the way, he spoke to Krell over the Transponder Snail, getting caught up on everything that had happened.
He also learned that Charlotte Linlin was devouring high-calorie food like a maniac.
He guessed that the premature labor had left the baby’s bloodline underdeveloped.
It might even affect the child’s talent in the future.
While Karl and the others sped toward Beehive Island, over on Linlin’s side, after gorging herself, she was finally entering labor.
“Waa waa…”
Krell and the others stopped in their tracks as the sound of newborn cries poured from the room.
That tender wailing echoed through every corner of the Manor, and for that moment, everyone wore a look of pure joy.
Three hours later, two more little lives entered the world as well.
It had taken so long because each child had drawn every ounce of nourishment and energy from their mother before entering the world.
Just looking at Linlin’s state made it obvious—she was far thinner than before.
Her eyes were sunken, her whole body weak. But with plenty of recovery food, her strength slowly returned.
“Mama mama mama!”
“You three really are little dynamos.”
Once Charlotte Linlin had recovered, she looked over at her three gigantic babies—each eighty centimeters tall and weighing almost fifty pounds.
She sensed that the power of their bloodline was thin. Clearly, they hadn’t fully inherited Karl’s blood. Rage flared up in her eyes as she glared at Krell.
“Krell, have you found out who’s responsible?”
Seeing her furious look, Krell’s heart skipped a beat and cold sweat broke out on his back—he didn’t want to be the scapegoat.
“Lady Linlin, we’ve got a lead now.”
“I’m going to bring the culprit here right away.”
Krell hurried from the room. Now that they knew who did it, all that remained was to find the culprit and bring them in.
“Hurry!”
Spurred on from behind, he quickened his pace.
