Chapter Index

“I knew these laser cannons would have maintenance tunnels.” Yang Bo, fully covered in metal, pressed his hand against an abandoned laser cannon. He quickly sensed a small tunnel next to it, though it was wrapped in thick defensive armor. Still, even if someone spotted him from space, they would only see his Mutant armor.

A minute later, the maintenance tunnel opened from the inside. Yang Bo quickly jumped in, closing and locking the entrance behind him.

Yang Bo confidently made his way through the maintenance tunnel. After all, he was disguised as a Mutant, so what was there to fear? Mutants sneaking in to steal things was pretty normal, right?

The maintenance tunnel was extremely narrow and winding. It led to the power supply for the external laser cannons.

Following the maintenance tunnel, Yang Bo slowly arrived at what seemed to be the maintenance center. There were some robots, a lot of spare parts, and even a few new laser cannons.

Yang Bo took a mental note, carefully counting. There were over 30 large laser cannons here.

“Hopefully, I can get to the main power room and install a few large energy cannons there. Then those Mutants who came in will turn to dust.” Yang Bo drooled at the sight of the large energy cannons. These were serious anti-aircraft weapons.

Looking closely at the map in the maintenance station, Yang Bo found a tunnel leading underground. At the entrance of the tunnel was a silver-white door. Clearly, this door was part of the defense to prevent Mutants from getting to the main power room.

Yang Bo pressed himself against the silver-white door. One hand turned metallic, and soon his entire body was covered in metal. With armor wrapped around him, unless someone looked closely, they wouldn’t notice his metallic skin.

A minute later, the silver-white door opened. It had an independent password system and a hardware setup, so without the right access, getting in was impossible.

“Independent systems are great! I love independent systems!” Yang Bo chuckled to himself. This door’s material was uncommon. He planned to dismantle it later and give it to Iron Bull.

Yang Bo walked cautiously, using his Metal Superpower to check for any problems in the tunnel. He didn’t dare to be careless and soon encountered a second silver-white door.

Once again, Yang Bo placed his hand on the door. After a minute, it opened.

The next second, an urgent alarm blared, and Yang Bo instantly went invisible.

Was this the main power room of Base 16’s sentry outpost?

Yang Bo couldn’t understand the energy system inside the cylindrical metal container. It didn’t look like anything good! The main control room had a monitoring center, where Yang Bo noticed a group of Mutants trying hard to break through the door. No wonder the alarms were going off.

Yang Bo explored the area and noticed there were no weapons systems. Then again, in a place like this, if a laser cannon fired, it might blow the whole place up.

Yang Bo searched thoroughly and found some valuable items, including over a hundred Mechas, all high-end models from the 9th to 14th generation.

No lower-grade Mechas were present, clearly showing that low-grade Mechas didn’t belong here.

In another area, Yang Bo found a substantial stash of bombs, including Shockwave Bombs and Mini Hydrogen Bombs.

Finally, Yang Bo located some Energy Stones. There weren’t many, just twelve in total, each weighing about five kilograms.

“A sentry base with this many Energy Stones is well-prepared. But who would’ve thought the planetary defense fleet would get attacked by Pirates? Still, it’s thanks to the Pirates that I could grab all this so easily.”

Yang Bo decided to take the Energy Stones first. He’d come back for the Mechas later.

But first, Yang Bo used his superpower to gain control of ten Mechas, all armed with laser cannons. He placed them near the main control room’s entrance in auto-defense mode.

“After using them, I’ll treat Iron Bull to a feast!” Looking at the ten advanced Mechas he’d set up, Yang Bo admired how they formed a defensive circle, with some standing and others kneeling. If the Mutants broke through the door, they’d be greeted by a barrage from these Mechas’ laser cannons.

“Exciting!” The thought thrilled Yang Bo. He wondered if the Mutants would wet their pants when they saw ten advanced Mechas waiting for them at the main power room door.

The Energy Stones were stored inside a blue cylindrical liquid container.

Yang Bo followed the maintenance tunnel and retrieved a container, then sealed the tunnel behind him. Just then, Yang Bo noticed a Drone Fighter approaching from the distance.

Realizing things were about to get bad, he hurriedly tossed the container into some nearby weeds and jumped down with it.

Aboard a warship in space, a Female Officer observed a Mutant emerging from the sentry base’s maintenance tunnel carrying a container. She immediately dispatched a Drone Fighter to intercept. However, the Mutant disappeared into the weeds with the container.

The Female Officer frowned slightly. The Parliament’s first directive was to prioritize rescuing Alliance citizens on Green Demon Planet, not to defeat the Mutants. Every Drone Fighter had strict orders to search for citizens, dead or alive. Until every citizen was accounted for, they were not to attack the Mutants. The officer’s armed forces were quite limited at the moment.

On one hand, they had to clear Void debris from the warships to find anything useful, like information from the Pirate Warships. On the other hand, they had to prepare for the possibility of other waiting Pirates or third-party forces.

Green Demon Planet’s situation wasn’t a secret to the two other nations. They had always tried to interfere here. This was the reason why a Jin Gang-class warship was stationed here. Nobody expected it would be ambushed by Pirate Warships this time. There was definitely some conspiracy behind this; otherwise, the Pirates wouldn’t dare take such a huge risk.

Reinforcements wouldn’t arrive for another month. This meant that for an entire month, they could only watch the Mutants run wild on the planet.

“Almost got hit by my own side!” Yang Bo muttered as he carried the container, moving quickly through the weeds.

On his way, Yang Bo saw that the Tiger-Faced King had brought over a hundred subordinates, rushing through the weeds. They seemed to be heading towards Base 16 as well.

“Heh, if that guy dies, I’ll check out his Tribe and see if they have anything valuable.” Yang Bo quietly avoided them.

Yang Bo returned to the cave where Iron Bull was. Opening the metal container, he proudly showed off one Energy Stone to Iron Bull.

“Unlucky.” However, Iron Bull’s small eyes seemed to be full of confusion. Yang Bo smacked his head, realizing Iron Bull didn’t recognize this thing.

When Yang Bo opened the container and followed the instructions to remove the triangular Energy Stone pillar, the stone in Iron Bull’s mouth fell to the ground, along with a lot of drool.

“I wonder if this drool could be used as material for a Gene Serum?” An odd idea popped into Yang Bo’s head at this moment.
