Chapter 118: Chapter 117: Iron Bull’s Companion
by xennovelYang Bo looked at these advanced mechs and thought it was a pity. If these things were sold to the pirates, they would fetch a lot of money. But there’s no way to sell them. Even if there were buyers, it wouldn’t work. If these mechs fell into the wrong hands, the Mech Company would likely hunt them down across the entire Outer Space.
And these mechs weren’t from just one company; they were from multiple companies. So selling them would offend all of them.
“Why aren’t you eating?” Yang Bo had already modified the permissions on these advanced mechs, sending them over to Iron Bull. While charging himself, he handed one of the mechs to Iron Bull.
As for the battery’s permissions, Yang Bo solved it in half a minute.
Iron Bull’s small eyes fixed on Yang Bo, then suddenly, he turned and took two steps, looking back at Yang Bo.
Yang Bo was puzzled.
Iron Bull took a few more steps, then looked back again.
“Do you want me to follow you or do you want me to bring these mechs with us?” Yang Bo was confused and gestured, first pantomiming himself following Iron Bull, then mimicking the mechs following.
Seeing Yang Bo’s gestures, Iron Bull shook its head, making a swaying motion.
“You mean you want me to bring the mechs and follow you?”
“Are you planning to settle a score with a strong opponent or something?” Yang Bo was a little excited, wondering what Iron Bull was planning with these mechs. He adjusted the settings again so that the mechs wouldn’t attack him or Iron Bull but would attack anything else they encountered, as long as it registered a certain energy reading.
Yang Bo led the mechs, marching behind Iron Bull. Soon, they ran into some Mutants. Some of these Mutant sentinels didn’t have time to react and were blown up instantly, like fireworks. The rest quickly reported the situation.
The Underground World went into an uproar. No one knew where these advanced mechs were headed, and every tribe in the area trembled. The Underground World’s tribes had various means to track these mechs, often using animals. Once the mechs passed their territory, they would breathe a sigh of relief, hoping they’d head straight into a neighboring tribe to wipe them out.
Some Mutant tribes believed that the Alliance was retaliating against them. These were likely unmanned mechs, and fighting them would be a waste of effort.
Iron Bull appeared to be very familiar with the Underground World, moving quickly through the passageways.
Yang Bo noticed that Iron Bull’s skin looked shinier, with a faint golden glow.
“Could it be the Energy Stones working?”
The Underground World was complex. Yang Bo walked until he couldn’t tell where he was anymore. The radar was ineffective down here due to heavy interference. Plenty had tried to map the underground, but navigating was nearly impossible. Even a one-meter error could mess up the system, and that often wasn’t even consistent.
This world was three-dimensional. Passages above might only be a meter away from the ones below, and the left or right could be just as close.
Floods, earthquakes, battles between Mutants, and fights between strange beasts all disrupted the area.
Even a volcanic eruption could interfere, along with deliberate destruction of the passageways by Mutants.
However, by following the wind upwards, one could typically find their way back to the surface.
The Mutant tribes eyed the advanced mechs with envy. These mechs used rare metals that didn’t come from this planet. Even if they did, extracting them would be extremely difficult.
The Alliance has mining robots that far surpass the Mutants in efficiency. Sometimes, they even smash entire Mining Planets to dust just to collect resources.
As they moved, they attracted many advanced Mutants, who looked at each other with cold expressions.
But no one retreated, nor did they leave. Everyone knew that facing so many advanced mechs alone wouldn’t do any good.
Yang Bo felt confident at first, thinking his mechs were invincible. But after walking a while, he realized something was wrong. More Mutants seemed to be following them.
Yang Bo’s scalp went numb. He quickly realized why the Alliance’s outposts were on the surface and not underground – because there were too many Mutants down here.
“Iron Bull, hurry!” Yang Bo shouted at Iron Bull, who was ahead.
Iron Bull seemed to understand, releasing a faint silver glow. In an instant, its whole body burst forward.
Yang Bo also activated his mech, bursting forward with the mechs following in formation.
Yang Bo heard the sound of laser cannons hitting rocks and shattering them behind him.
Iron Bull seemed to have heard it too, as its figure flashed, moving toward the back.
Then came the sound of roaring. Yang Bo was in a tough spot. If he turned back, the entire formation would be disrupted.
Fortunately, after a few minutes, Iron Bull came swaggering back to the front.
Yang Bo didn’t know how the battle went, and there weren’t any new skills unlocked this time. He regretted not joining in.
After that skirmish, Yang Bo felt more and more eyes watching him from the shadows.
After traveling for half a day, Yang Bo was ready to fight the Mutants when he suddenly realized Iron Bull was leading them upwards.
Yang Bo estimated that they had covered over 1,000 kilometers. The mechs were using Jetpacks to help with the journey.
The golden glow on Iron Bull’s skin became more intense. At first, it was faint, but now large sections of its skin were glowing gold.
After climbing for more than an hour, Yang Bo found himself in a valley. The mountains on either side were very tall, shrouded in mist, and below was a vast grassland and thickets.
Earlier, Iron Bull had blocked Yang Bo, stopping him from bringing the mechs past the valley’s exit.
Yang Bo was puzzled.
The valley wasn’t very wide, only about ten kilometers across. He could see the steep cliffs on both sides and the high clouds above.
“Roar!” At that moment, Iron Bull let out a loud roar, echoing through the valley.
Just as Yang Bo was wondering, another roar came from the distance.
“Did we reach Iron Bull’s homeland?”
“It makes sense. Iron Bull wasn’t born out of nowhere. He must have parents, maybe even a brother or an elder who took over as leader – or maybe even an Iron Bull big brother?”
The next moment left Yang Bo dumbfounded. He saw a faint golden light flash in the sky, and a rhinoceros descended. Its entire body was covered in golden stripes. Yang Bo immediately became more alert. This creature seemed like it could fly.
