Chapter Index

PS: Got a cold and stomach ache today. Apologies for only four updates.

The next second, Yang Bo was dumbfounded watching Iron Bull charge forward and the two bumped their heads together like old friends.

“This doesn’t look like a rivalry at all, more like two brothers?” Yang Bo analyzed carefully through the mech and realized they actually were like brothers—at least, from a male perspective.

Iron Bull seemed to be exchanging information as they butted heads. After about ten minutes, Iron Bull brought the other one over.

The other rhino looked smaller than Iron Bull but appeared to be stronger, with golden markings on its horns.

The small-eyed rhino glanced at Yang Bo. Yang Bo was unsure what it meant.

Iron Bull then stood by the underground exit and shook its head a couple of times.

Yang Bo immediately got the message—it wanted him to bring the mechs out from the underground world.

So Yang Bo had no choice but to modify the settings so that it wouldn’t attack rhinos, then led a string of mechs out of the underground entrance.

Iron Bull’s brother—no, more accurately its companion—watched the mechs cautiously.

Iron Bull and its companion walked in front, while Yang Bo followed behind with a line of mechs into the valley. Strangely, the mutants that had been trailing the mechs didn’t appear… for some unknown reason.

After walking a little, Yang Bo saw more rhinos, including strong adults and cute little ones. They came in black, gray, and silver colors.

All the rhinos stared suspiciously at the scene in front of them, their small ears perked up.

This valley seemed to have more than one path, with various branches and a lot of rhinos. Most were black or gray, with silver ones being quite rare.

Golden rhinos were even rarer. The valley was extremely long—over 200 kilometers—and had numerous paths lined with grass and shrubs, which seemed to serve as food for the rhinos.

After walking for about an hour, Yang Bo reached a pitch-black cave at the end of the valley, with smoke billowing out.

“A lava vent?” Yang Bo wondered as he looked at the place.

The next second, Iron Bull turned around and shook its head a few more times. Yang Bo didn’t quite understand but felt it must mean something, so he adjusted the mech’s permissions and positioned them in a circle around the cave entrance.

Then Iron Bull rushed over to the cave entrance, letting out a furious roar.

Immediately after, Iron Bull ran back to hide behind the mechs with its companion.

“They want me to help them deal with an enemy, huh?” Yang Bo instantly understood—Iron Bull was asking for his help against an enemy.

Before Yang Bo could react, the mechs around him opened fire, and snakes started pouring out from the cave. The snakes were pitch-black, ranging from two to five meters in length.

    Fire Mastery +2!

    Fire Mastery +4!

    Fire Mastery +2!

    ………………

The flood of updates in his mind shocked Yang Bo. These creatures were mutant beasts with fire mastery! If these were taken to the Alliance… no way, these were all Yang Bo’s to keep! No one could have them. He wasn’t selling these materials—they’d just create more fire element users, and every additional user was competition! Especially with this much material, how many would awaken?

This will definitely get me killed.

The mutant beasts, after being hit, retreated in explosive flames.

Yang Bo maneuvered the mechs closer to the cave and noticed the tunnel sloped downward. He casually grabbed a mini hydrogen bomb from one of the mechs.

A loud explosion echoed, and more fire mastery updates flooded in, along with rocks and smoke being blasted out of the cave.

Yang Bo’s eyes gleamed. Was this a goldmine? Just as he prepared to go down, Iron Bull blocked his way.

“There’s something even bigger inside?” Yang Bo’s eyes sparkled at Iron Bull’s warning.

Yang Bo took a few steps back, and Iron Bull also retreated far away.

It seemed like something really dangerous was inside. But Yang Bo wasn’t scared; he grabbed two shockwave bombs from the mech and threw them down.

This time, the detonation timer was set a bit longer. After a while, a deafening explosion could be heard.

Yang Bo got another wave of fire mastery updates. He almost laughed out loud—having Iron Bull as a local guide was fantastic! Wonder if Iron Bull has more enemies… hahaha!

Suddenly, Iron Bull let out a grunt! Yang Bo quickly pulled out two more hydrogen bombs and tossed them into the cave.

It’s not that Yang Bo wanted to keep throwing bombs—it’s just better to wait until the mutant beasts regroup.

Huge clouds of dust exploded out along with scattered rocks and a deafening roar.

Even with the cooled lava around the cave, rocks surged out, flying everywhere.

Then, a massive burst of fire erupted from the pitch-black cave, followed by a gigantic snake emerging. But as soon as it appeared, the mechs fired lasers at it.

The scales on its body started exploding, but in the next moment, a layer of red energy shield flared up around the snake.

“What the…!” For the first time, Yang Bo saw a mutant beast capable of generating an energy shield. Wasn’t that supposed to be tech exclusive to warships and advanced mechs? A mutant animal possessing it was absurd.

Laser after laser slammed into the energy shield, causing it to flicker.

The next moment, the snake recoiled its neck. Just when Yang Bo thought it was retreating, a spray of red liquid shot from the cave. Yang Bo quickly dodged away using his jetpack.

The red liquid hit several advanced mechs, melting them like candles in hot water and setting them ablaze.

Yang Bo cringed and saw more sprays of red liquid shooting out in arcs from the cave. It looked like the mechs he brought were going to be wiped out by this thing.

Yang Bo jumped to one of the surviving mechs and activated the attached mini-nuclear bomb, then threw both the bomb and the mech into the cave.

Inside the cave, the snake spotted something entering and sprayed a liquid, but the miniature hydrogen bomb exploded a second later, flooding the cave with shrapnel and explosive force, rattling the snake.

But before it could recover, Yang Bo tossed in another mech. The snake saw it coming, lunging forward and headbutting it back out.

The mech exploded in mid-air, exactly what Yang Bo wanted. The next second, Yang Bo’s energy-powered mech charged forward, wielding an energy blade.

He leaped toward the cave with his jetpack powering up.

The giant snake inside the cave saw the mech drop down again and swung its head hard, slamming into Yang Bo’s mech.
