Chapter Index

It was only now that Yang Bo took a closer look at this giant snake. Its length was indeterminable, but its body was over two meters in diameter, and its head was about three meters wide. However, it looked rather pitiful now, having been hit by the mecha’s laser cannon.

The cave was fairly spacious. If Yang Bo had attacked alone, the snake would definitely have had room to dodge. Unfortunately, it was a two-way attack.

The five-meter energy blade of the mecha instantly plunged into the snake’s brain.

The snake hadn’t expected a mecha to be involved this time. Given how confined the space was, it couldn’t use its tail to sweep away Yang Bo’s incoming mecha.

Although the snake had an energy shield, it was out of luck since Yang Bo was wielding an energy weapon. In the clash of energies, the snake had little defense, only prepared for the mecha’s explosive fragments.

And the two-way fusion of force made this all the more devastating.

The energy mecha controlled by Yang Bo stabbed into the snake’s brain, but the snake’s remaining energy violently tossed the mecha, sending it crashing into the cave wall.

The mecha’s alarms blared frantically, but Yang Bo remained calm.

    Fire Energy Mastery +32!

A piece of information informed Yang Bo that the snake was dead.

Meanwhile, Iron Bull and its companion had just landed at the cave entrance. They watched in disbelief as Yang Bo pulled the energy weapon out from the snake’s head.

This place originally belonged to Iron Bull’s race. But years ago, a cave opened up here, bringing with it a group of snakes that attacked their tribe.

So the Iron Bull tribe had no choice but to move to the other side of the canyon.

“What a shame.” Yang Bo stood at the cave entrance, looking at the remains of his explosive mecha squad. He had thought he could wreak havoc in the Underground World with these mechs, but who knew he’d lose two-thirds of them here? The corrosive liquid the giant snake had sprayed was too strong. Only some of the mechas’ energy metals had survived; the rest had turned into a pile of black rocks.

Yang Bo also couldn’t deal with the snake’s corpse. It was far too big, its body winding through the cave.

“Is there something valuable down below?” Yang Bo looked deeper into the cave. A beast of this level should have some treasure in its nest, right?

Yang Bo jumped out of his mecha, activated Invisibility, and felt his way inside. After all, he had an energy suit on.

The cave was a mess, with shattered stone walls and plenty of snake corpses. It looked like this snake was part of a clan.

These were all Yang Bo’s handiwork, mostly caused by Mini Hydrogen Bombs and Shockwave Bombs.

The cave went deep. At five hundred meters, there were still many snakes. Six hundred meters, seven hundred meters, eight hundred meters.

At more than two thousand meters deep, it took Yang Bo nearly half an hour to reach this point. He advanced slowly to stay alert for any other beasts.

Upon reaching the bottom, Yang Bo was stunned. There was a large cavity here, with a hundred-square-meter Lava Lake in the middle. Around the Lava Lake were numerous snake eggs, some larger than a human, some as small as an ostrich egg.

On one side of the cavity, Yang Bo found a particularly smooth area, likely this giant snake’s nest.

He looked around, but there didn’t seem to be anything valuable. The mecha’s radar was heavily affected here, possibly due to some unknown energy in the magma.

“What a lousy haul.” Yang Bo felt somewhat disappointed. Did this giant snake have nothing valuable?

After checking the area and confirming there was no danger, Yang Bo exited the cave. Outside, he reset the remaining mechas, packed up his own mecha, and accounted for the 23 undamaged units.

Yang Bo led the other mechas back into the cave.

Flashes of light filled the cave, accompanied by more Fire Energy Mastery notifications.

Yang Bo had considered leaving this area to settle down, but it wasn’t feasible. These remaining snakes would likely relocate after being attacked.

Along the way, the laser cannons of the 23 advanced mechas acted like the scythe of death.

    Fire Energy Mastery +2!

    Fire Energy Mastery +4!

    ………

The skill notifications kept flooding in, leaving Yang Bo feeling quite pleased. This was great, truly great.

Two hours later, Yang Bo and the mechas reached the deepest part of the cave, where he set his sights on the snake eggs.

Yang Bo had thought about keeping them or taking them to hatch, but it wasn’t realistic. Besides, many had already escaped, so he could probably find more later in the Underground World.

Iron Bull and its companion followed the mechas into the cave, looking at Yang Bo with admiration, mixed with a hint of awe.

As they emerged back onto the surface, Yang Bo began dismantling the mechas, piling their metals up in one area and their central AI systems in another.

Yang Bo wasn’t planning to pick up any new skills. His goal was to combine light energy, electric power, gravity, fire energy, and sound waves into his own combat style. He needed both brutal frontal attacks and sneaky, underhanded methods.

These mechas were effectively walking landmines. Iron Bull and its companion were stunned at the sight.

After dismantling the mechas, Yang Bo gifted the metals to Iron Bull. He then reassembled a few mechas for himself, keeping a small number of Mini Hydrogen Bombs and Shockwave Bombs.

He discarded the AI systems and other components into the Lava Lake at the bottom of the cave. The remaining Mini Hydrogen Bombs he set up throughout the cave, preparing to collapse the entire structure.

Of course, he saved a few more Mini Hydrogen Bombs, planning to drop them in the underground rivers where the electric eels lived. He had to enjoy the freedom of this game, right? “With Iron Bull’s tribe here, it’ll be much easier to get things done in this area when I re-enter the mecha game.” Yang Bo set the timers on all the bombs.

Finally, back at the cave mouth, Yang Bo glanced at the giant snake’s head. A sudden thought struck him.

“Do these beasts like to swallow valuable things?” Yang Bo suddenly realized something. Do beasts like this always keep precious items in their stomachs? Just like how Iron Bull swallowed so many energy stones. Could it be storing something too?

After all, beasts don’t have backpacks or pockets.

With this thought, Yang Bo hurriedly summoned his energy mecha, picked up his energy weapon, and began slicing open the snake’s body.

Sure enough, after cutting into a certain spot, the mecha’s radar picked up an unusually strong energy signature. Yang Bo didn’t have time to inspect it carefully because the bombs were counting down.

Yang Bo had barely jumped out of the cave when a massive rumble shook the ground, and a huge cloud of dust erupted from the cave. The entire cave collapsed.

Only then did Yang Bo put away his mecha and look at the strange item retrieved from the snake’s body. It looked like some organ, likely the stomach. However, because the snake had died, its defenses had failed, allowing the energy inside to leak out.

Yang Bo donned his energy suit and used his energy weapon to peel away the outer layer, revealing a round, bronze-colored metal piece about the size of an ostrich egg. “What’s this thing?” Yang Bo was puzzled. Standing nearby, Iron Bull’s horn emitted a beam of light that landed directly on the bronze-colored metal.

“Iron Bull, do you know what this is?” Yang Bo was stunned. Why did Iron Bull react this way?
