Chapter Index

Yang Bo not only planned to retrieve his bone hammer but also take over the biological mecha production base. Of course, it wasn’t Yang Bo himself who would steal it. Two nearby tribes were going to handle that.

Of course, ‘nearby’ was relative. There was still a considerable distance.

The plan was simple: first, destroy the main energy source, then launch a violent attack. Meanwhile, they could bring some dry rations… maybe a few energy pillars for Iron Bull.

The one thing Yang Bo didn’t know was what kind of defense this biological mecha factory had, making it so untouchable? Was it simply relying on the few sentries he’d seen or the armed personnel in biological mecha suits? Once again, Yang Bo returned to the biological mecha production base—or more accurately, the biological mecha cultivation base—and spent some time carefully scouting around.

“This is ridiculous.” Yang Bo now understood why his Fat Boss had said that many famous people hated electronic devices.

Staring at the thick iron door, Yang Bo muttered, “Are you serious? In this day and age, they’re still using old-fashioned mechanical locks?”

And wouldn’t you know it, opening this door was even more troublesome than electronic controls. With electronic controls, Yang Bo could simply touch it and the door would open automatically.

This base had several such places. Every person had a key to the main control room, and once the door was opened, there was a bell behind it that would ring upon touch.

Yang Bo took the opportunity to follow others in.

The area had been locked for a while, and no one came around.

“Do the people inside not eat?” Yang Bo was suspicious. The staff here weren’t numerous. Including the guards, there were about four hundred people, half of them technicians and the other half guards.

“Robots!” Yang Bo slapped his forehead, realizing his own thinking had limited him.

Last time, Yang Bo had wandered around here for quite a while. People need to eat, and most superpowered individuals do too, although some don’t, but it’s rare. Last time, he had wondered why the people inside these doors didn’t seem to need food.

“There we go. No wonder it looked like there weren’t many guards. If there are robots, that makes sense.”

Now that it made sense to him, Yang Bo was ready to start working. But if there were attack robots, what then?

What did that have to do with him? He wasn’t the one who needed to deal with them. Why do you think the Mutants were there? Besides, if robots were that useful, wouldn’t Green Demon Planet have been conquered already? They must have weaknesses.

After that, Yang Bo retraced his steps and made his way to the border between the two tribes he had provoked earlier.

“I wonder if I’ll get a mecha this time.”

“Stop dreaming. If anyone gets one, it’ll be me.”

“Hopefully, the King will loot more.”

“Shut up! The King’s looting of the biological mechas is a secret. Don’t talk about it.”

    “Oh, okay. When’s the assembly?”

    “It’s at…”

Both patrol members accidentally overheard each other’s conversations. It left Yang Bo exhausted. After finishing with them, he gathered some biological samples—hair and such—without the other side even knowing. The voices now were camouflaged to sound like someone else speaking.

The two groups were familiar, situated next door to each other. Hearing these conversations, both sides reacted: “Huh, wasn’t that the captain we ran into last time?” When the two tribal leaders caught wind of this, they were skeptical but still went to check. And sure enough, the other group was secretly hiding near the biological mecha factory.

Seeing both Mutant leaders quietly increasing their troops, Yang Bo felt relieved.

Inside the biological mecha cultivation base, Yang Bo stared at a large alarm button. There was a line of text underneath: ‘Press the button and reach the safe house within thirty seconds.’

Although no one was around at the moment, after leaving, Yang Bo camouflaged himself as a Mutant before pressing it. He was worried there might be some recording devices nearby.

    Beep beep beep beep!

Beep beep beep! In an instant, sharp alarms blared across the entire base, leaving everyone dumbfounded. The next second, they dashed off.

Yang Bo immediately headed to the warehouse. He violently destroyed the door and threw the bone hammer into his mech storage space.

Then, using Electric Power, he destroyed the main system of the Central AI System. Thanks to Metal Superpower, he knew exactly where it was. Even if they recovered the data and traced his use of the bone hammer…?

He wasn’t afraid. He could now openly wield the bone hammer, so why would he worry? Besides, the warehouse was about to be raided by Mutants soon. If anyone asked, he could just say he bought it on the black market, taken from a Mutant.

He then used Invisibility to move to the main energy room. Its defenses were strict, but unfortunately, in front of Yang Bo, that meant nothing. In thirty seconds, the door automatically opened.

The layout resembled the main energy room at the Outpost. Yang Bo immediately opened the safe, inside which were energy pillars, neatly lined up.

He packed all the energy pillars, a total of 24.

“More than the military base, but I guess that’s because there’s no external support here.” Yang Bo mused, then summoned his mecha. The mecha looked exactly like a biological mecha, at least externally. Grabbing an energy weapon, he started hacking.

The entire base’s lights dimmed suddenly. Yang Bo controlled the mecha, clutching the container filled with energy pillars, and sprinted out.

The two Mutant tribe leaders observing outside noticed the sentries in the passageway rushing off and sensed something was amiss. A moment later, the lights went out too.

Both sides couldn’t hold back any longer. Just then, they saw a guy in a biological mecha suit running out, carrying a large chest.

“King, hurry up!” The figure in the biological mecha shouted. Suddenly, many biological mechas and Mutants appeared.

“Who are you…” Yang Bo feigned ignorance, immediately turning and running off. In his panic, he even dropped one of the containers holding an Energy Core. By unlucky chance, the mecha stepped on it, smashing it.

The intense energy fluctuation made both groups of Mutants breathe heavily.

“Charge!” The two leaders exchanged a glance and shouted. Quite harmoniously, they didn’t start fighting.

“King! King! We’re rich! We’re rich! It was full of armed robots, but we dealt with them all. Plus, they were running low on energy.”

“Also, the main energy room was opened.” A battered Mutant in a biological mecha emerged minutes later, shouting loudly as the two leaders waited outside.

Rob! Hiding in the shadows, Yang Bo chuckled. These Mutants, huh? If you want to know how dangerous they are, just take a look at Base 16. They even disassembled the metal walls!

As for the safety of the people inside? Yang Bo figured that since they had a safe house, they were probably fine.

After waiting an hour, Yang Bo saw the Mutants even dismantle the cultivation pods. A two-meter-tall Mutant wearing an energy suit was carrying a damaged pod, running faster than a rabbit.

Two hours later, Yang Bo noticed more Mutants from two other tribes joining the raid.

The place was swarming with Mutants, just like a lively marketplace. They grabbed electrical wires, containers, clothes, food trays, pipes… even the metal toilets were torn apart.

Watching this scene, Yang Bo was reminded of that movie he once saw, ‘Lord of War.’ The plane stopped for fifteen minutes, and all the weapons were gone…

After 18 hours, Yang Bo, invisible, entered the originally impressive research base of a certain mech company.

    It was a tragic sight!

Everywhere there were stone walls, just stone walls. The main energy room had been dismantled, revealing the spots where equipment was once installed.

“Tsk tsk, no wonder these guys know how to repair mecha. Disassembling these things must be a skill passed down through generations.” Yang Bo shook his head. Even he didn’t know how to dismantle the main energy room systems, but these guys had torn it apart?

The robot room Yang Bo had estimated was also empty. Not even the door remained. Other than the numerous anchor bolts embedded in the rock, there was nothing left to show its former glory.

The safe house was indeed safe. The door was made with the same materials as the one in the main energy room, and it looked even stronger.

“Time to wrap up. Shall I head to the Treasure Exchange to take a look?” Yang Bo was quite satisfied.

    Still the fourth update—my apologies!
