Chapter Index

“Tsk tsk, these guys.” Yang Bo looked at the warehouse. It was the Grey Ash Organization’s warehouse, divided into many sections. One floor alone covered 2,000 square meters, and there were six floors. The walls all around were protected by warship-grade defensive armor.

Inside, there were various exotic beasts, all of them asleep, with some sort of collars around their necks. The beasts were of all kinds, including a two-headed snake.

There weren’t many exotic beasts here, possibly because some had been sent away. There were also some strange plants. Inside a sealed container, a mushroom was slowly moving. Outside the container, there were danger warning signs.

Most of the contents were energy metals, energy stones, attribute energy stones, and also attribute energy metals, like a metal with fire abilities. These were raw materials for making super energy suits.

Just imagine Yang Bo’s energy suit storing enough electricity. What would the effect be in battle? The only problem here was that everything was operated by machinery and humans. There was no system automation.

Yang Bo had basically explored the entire Grey Ash Organization base, including the living quarters of its members. However, no escape route had been found yet.

Yang Bo guessed that this escape route was crucial and could likely only be activated by the Grey Ash Organization leader. The reliance on complete mechanization was a downside; there was no way to locate it through a system.

Yang Bo also found the main energy room but didn’t enter. That area generally wouldn’t have anyone inside.

Yang Bo caught a distant glimpse of the Grey Ash Organization Leader. Of course, Old Third Huang had told him what the leader looked like. Yang Bo got a strange impression, feeling a sense of danger…

The Exchange Conference had been halted. Every day, hundreds of mutant leaders demanded compensation from the Grey Ash Organization for their losses, threatening to suspend trading otherwise. The pirates were doing the same. The atmosphere was tense.

Old Third Huang took out a map and said, “According to what I’ve learned recently, there’s a lake here, about 300 kilometers away. There are a lot of electric eels there, but almost none of our people go.

“This place, about 600 kilometers away, is a swamp. It’s toxic, and poisonous creatures live inside.

“And here is the exit of an underground river. The current is swift, but there’s not much living inside, so no one really goes there either.”

Yang Bo felt something was off. Even though a few hundred kilometers wasn’t too far, this wasn’t a world of technology. Unless they had massive escape facilities set up.

“Technology!” Yang Bo watched as Old Third Huang left, thinking about how the Grey Ash Organization’s base layout still relied heavily on technology.

The first thing was the ship’s laser cannons. Although man-operated, they could just fire mindlessly down the passage, and with a super-evolver onboard, anyone who came would be dead.

Plus, for an organization like the Grey Ash Organization, with their survivalist nature, they’d likely have a backup plan to leave as quickly as possible if things went bad.

“If there’s an underground high-speed tunnel, maybe they could escape quickly.”

“But what kind of cost would that take? And the deeper you go underground, the stronger the interference.”

“Also, aren’t they worried about mutants? Mutants dominate the Underground World…”

Yang Bo walked out of the Underground World. Many mutants were coming and going, but none seemed to notice him at all.

He looked up at the sky, and a bold idea came to his mind. What if he hid the spaceship within the clouds above the Pit?

Wouldn’t that be the fastest and most timely escape plan? Besides, interference is minimal in the clouds. If the spaceship were equipped with powerful weapons, no matter how much chaos unfolded below, it wouldn’t be a problem, right?

“Imagine that—countless mutants swarming to attack the base, and above the Pit, the Grey Ash Organization’s spaceship fires up its laser cannons… Tsk tsk.” Yang Bo murmured to himself, pondering the idea.

The Grey Ash Organization was ruthless. If they lost their foothold here, they wouldn’t let the others have an easy time either.

“I should check everything out first,” Yang Bo thought as he wandered around. The mutants had basically stopped trading. Any individual mutant trying to bring something out was scolded by other tribal leaders.

After leaving, Yang Bo activated his Invisibility and arrived outside the Pit. He carefully inspected the area, finding nothing unusual. There were birds and beasts, nothing out of the ordinary.

“Could I be wrong?” Yang Bo muttered to himself.

But then he remembered how he had killed biological and mechanical birds in the past, and decided to carefully observe the current birds and beasts.

It wasn’t until nightfall that a small smile appeared on Yang Bo’s lips. Thanks to his Dynamic Vision, a passive ability.

Dynamic Vision was the only ability still usable while invisible. It was passive, as long as something was visible, the ability would work.

“Out of three bird flocks, five fake birds were mixed in.”

“Constantly ensuring that birds are watching the Pit, tsk tsk.” Yang Bo finally made a discovery. The fake birds perched on the trees, hopping around, eating just like the real ones, but there was one big difference.

They didn’t shed feathers! That’s right. Real birds would lose a few feathers while flying, especially when hopping around bushes.

“So, how should I continue observing?” Yang Bo muttered again. Those things floated in the air. Should he transform into a bird for a closer look? But that would alert the enemy. Anyway, what if the spaceship wasn’t even there? Yang Bo wasn’t certain.

Invisibility was the issue—he couldn’t use any other abilities when cloaked, especially electric, light, or gravity abilities.

Using them would cancel the invisibility. Even if there was a spaceship, it would likely have an automatic evasion system.

Yang Bo became slightly irritated. He wanted to ignore the whole situation, but then he remembered the nonsense from the Four Seas Company and the suffering he’d already been through. And considering the human trafficking, one issue was enough to infuriate him, let alone all the other problems.

“Forget it, I’ll see how far I get. Stopping the Grey Ash Organization would be great, but if I can’t, so be it. I’m on my own after all…” Yang Bo, still invisible, returned to the Underground World, feeling frustrated.

“Wait, no, there’s still Iron Bull and his group,” Yang Bo’s eyes suddenly brightened. If it really was about a spaceship, Iron Bull and his brothers would be the perfect fit for this job.

Excited, Yang Bo hurried back to Iron Bull’s territory. He had to move fast. If he didn’t, the Exchange Conference might end.

Maximizing his Gravity Mastery ability, Yang Bo shot through the Underground World like a cannonball. At first, he nearly crashed into a stone wall, but gradually, he got the hang of it.

“Iron Bull.” Yang Bo transformed into a member of Iron Bull’s species, and after communicating with Iron Bull and his companions, Iron Bull split from his comrades and went with Yang Bo toward the Pit area.

Yang Bo learned that Iron Bull’s brothers would stay behind and guard their tribe’s territory.

Yang Bo brought Iron Bull to a hidden spot about a kilometer from the Pit, instructing him to watch for any metal objects flying up. “If you see one, shoot it, and then run.”

It was merely a backup plan. Yang Bo believed he could stop their escape, but it didn’t hurt to have an extra hand.

After a long discussion, Iron Bull finally nodded, indicating he understood.

Now, Iron Bull’s body was covered with more and more golden patterns. Just how much would he grow once he finished absorbing the Energy Core?

“Brother, why are you only here now? The Grey Ash Organization just announced tomorrow will be the last day of the Exchange Conference,” Old Third Huang said anxiously when he saw Yang Bo.
