Chapter 140: Treasure Selection
by xennovelYang Bo first walked over to Iron Bull, letting him return. Then he stowed away his mech and appeared in his energy suit.
The group arrived in front of the Grey Ash Organization’s warehouse. But before entering, Old Third Huang said sharply, “This brother did the most. He chooses first. Then half of what’s left will go to our dozen people, and the rest is yours. How does that sound?”
A total of more than fifty mutant leaders were present, while Old Third Huang’s group had only a dozen. Not giving the other mutant leaders a share wouldn’t be realistic, but a fair division was out of the question.
“Agreed.” The other mutants, despite being in small groups, had only three to five members each, far fewer than Old Third Huang’s group.
Yang Bo was already holding the door handle, using his superpower to destroy the entire door structure. When he saw the others agree, he kicked the door open with such force that it flew inward.
The mutants gasped. People had tested this door before, even mutants with biological mechas, and couldn’t open it. Yang Bo and his group had clearly taken it over in ways unknown.
Whether through brute force or superpower, this wasn’t something just anyone could pull off.
“I’ll just take some attribute energy stones and attribute energy metals,” Yang Bo said, looking at the Grey Ash Organization’s warehouse inventory, feeling a pinch in his heart for about three minutes.
Yang Bo needed to return to March Planet soon, so he clearly couldn’t leave with bundles of materials. He had to choose items that were small in size but high in value.
As for energy stones, Yang Bo felt it was unnecessary, as he could recharge anyway—so attribute energy metals it was.
Moving to the section housing unknown attribute energy metals, Yang Bo began touching them one by one.
He quickly picked up an attribute energy metal. It was a dull gray, about the size of an ostrich egg, resembling a grayish pebble with a faint energy glow.
Then, Yang Bo went to the area for unknown attribute energy stones and found a strange green energy stone about the size of a quail egg. He decided to take it as well.
Of course, Yang Bo wouldn’t leave empty-handed. The best fire attribute energy stones and light attribute energy stones, though he couldn’t use them, were valuable, right?
He randomly grabbed a few more.
“That’s it.” Yang Bo estimated that the storage space in his mech was almost full, even having to store some in the cockpit.
“Just that?” Old Third Huang and the others were stunned. This was a six-story warehouse packed full of treasures.
“That’s all. I’m heading to the Main Energy Room now. You guys do as you see fit.” Yang Bo still intended to plunder the energy pillars in the Main Energy Room.
“Alright, alright.”
“Don’t worry,” the other mutant leaders said, eyeing all the remaining treasures. The Grey Ash Organization’s stockpile was filled with good stuff, much of which had been obtained by trading or smuggled in by the organization.
“I’ll be back in half a month. The Alliance Parliament won’t act that fast,” Yang Bo said as he prepared to max out his skills in Electric Power Control. And it seemed like the glow-in-the-dark frogs had also surfaced—time to try out Light Energy Control. Lastly, maybe the invisible rats were still around.
After storing his treasures in his mech’s storage box and cockpit and giving Iron Bull an Energy Core, Yang Bo left. Once the mutants had raided the Grey Ash Organization’s base, Yang Bo planned to take Iron Bull to eat spaceships. He wanted one of those, but unfortunately, it was too massive and couldn’t fly, although repairs wouldn’t be too tough.
“Mind Control? It’s actually Spirit Control?” Yang Bo looked at the rat in front of him, which was now incredibly affectionate, like a pet.
He could control the little thing, making it believe they were best friends.
This was Yang Bo testing out his newly gained Spirit Control ability. At the same time, he realized why the Grey Ash Organization’s leader had seemed dangerous.
“Good thing I’m smart. Didn’t give the bad guy time to monologue.” Yang Bo felt lucky that watching so many movies wasn’t a waste. At least, he knew not to let the villain ramble on.
Arriving at a lake, Yang Bo transformed into an electric eel and summoned creatures. Within a kilometer radius, electric eels swam toward Yang Bo. He even sensed some farther away, maybe beyond range.
Sizzle! Dozens of electric eels nearby were electrocuted to death by Yang Bo’s electrical discharge.
Electric Power Control +1!
…
A series of Electric Power Control gains, but unfortunately, they were all basic.
Five days later, Yang Bo emerged from the water, feeling like he wanted to puke.
He had wandered approximately two thousand kilometers, through more than a hundred big and small lakes, just to complete the skill.
Electric Power Control: Grandmaster (300% faster energy recharge rate, 300% immunity to electrical damage, 300% better Electric Power control).
Yang Bo grinned, watching as a bolt of lightning twisted in his hand. With a wave, he flung it toward the distant lake.
In an instant, the lightning landed precisely in the water hundreds of meters away, causing some fish to float belly-up.
“Haha!” Yang Bo laughed heartily. His charging speed had drastically improved, and as his body became stronger, his ability to gather energy per unit of time increased.
The control was his favorite part. Previously, when he threw out lightning, it was hard to control, as many things would interfere. Now, no such problem. He could hit exactly where he aimed.
“This place?” Yang Bo surveyed his surroundings, identifying his location.
“I’ll check out the glow-in-the-dark frogs first.” After a quick glance, he knew that passing through the poison swamp on the way to the invisible rats’ location was inevitable.
“What a pity I didn’t get the Toxic Control skill. That would’ve been perfect for sneak attacks.”
The poison swamp was an expansive area, almost a forbidden zone for mutants. Even the mist was toxic.
A snap of his fingers, and Yang Bo sensed glow-in-the-dark frogs nearby. After mastering Electric Power Control, his Sonic Detection ability had grown stronger, with better range and penetration.
“Could it be?” Yang Bo had a thought but wasn’t sure.
A snap of his fingers, and five glow-in-the-dark frogs he had just detected were instantly killed by a long-range sonic attack.
Five Light Energy Control +1! “Perfect for practicing multi-target sonic control.” Yang Bo gazed at the enormous swamp, which spanned tens of thousands of square kilometers, an ideal training ground.
Suddenly, Yang Bo saw a puddle filled with small tadpoles. Some had already developed four legs, wriggling around densely. His mind stirred.
He threw a bolt of lightning into the puddle.
The next second, the mass of four-legged tadpoles floated belly-up.
Light Energy Control multiple upgrades! “I thought it would take ten days or half a month.” Yang Bo was gleeful, though a bit reluctant. But then another bolt of lightning appeared in his hand… ahem.
Meanwhile, back in the human holding area, after looting the Grey Ash Organization’s warehouse, Old Third Huang and the others gathered together. These guys were the quickest to ransack the place.
“We can’t leave anyone from the Grey Ash Organization alive,” Old Third Huang said.
“But they haven’t returned yet?” Lame Liu and a few others were also afraid of the Grey Ash Organization’s retaliation.
“I told you earlier. We can’t let anyone from the Grey Ash Organization leave. You know as well as I do, some of these guys would wiggle out of punishment if they went back. Our brother’s identity might make it inconvenient for him to act personally.”
“Weren’t we supposed to hand the evidence over to the Ministry of Justice?”
“We have the evidence. We’ve got all kinds of data.”
“Then let’s do it.”
“Yeah. We’ve still got family back home. If these guys go back, the Grey Ash Organization might retaliate against our loved ones.”
“Exactly. Let’s move!”
