Chapter Index

PS: Worked overtime last night and came back late. I’ll try to have another chapter out by noon, sorry.

As for the title of Lord, Yang Bo thought it was a good fallback plan. Green Demon Planet gave him this feeling, like there was some other secret here. Why were there so many mutated animals on this planet?

Unfortunately, Yang Bo knew too little. The Alliance surely had records about it, but he didn’t know them.

The Green Demon Planet’s Parliament had a friendly discussion with the Alliance Parliament, and Green Demon Planet officially achieved autonomy. The first CEO of Green Demon Planet was Old Third Huang. Then there were positions like Speaker and Vice Speaker, but they hadn’t appointed a judge yet.

Given the state of Green Demon Planet, unless surveillance was installed throughout the entire underground world, it’d be impossible to collect any criminal evidence.

The Alliance had repaired the Sentinel Base, but now the base was primarily being prepared for commercial activities. The Mutant Tribe’s people could go to any nearby base to trade all sorts of things.

As for other people from the Alliance, even those doing business, they could only operate within the base and nearby regions. They weren’t allowed to enter the Mutants’ territory without permission.

Yang Bo was extremely frustrated. He’d been in hiding for a month. The drone fighters flew more frequently now, but he still hadn’t been found.

Looking at the cave he had dug, Yang Bo grumbled to himself: ‘Did I dug too well?’

This past month, Yang Bo had stayed in this cave. His appearance was quite bad, still dressed in his warship uniform.

The Alliance had intensified their search efforts, mainly because a new fleet had arrived, replacing defenses, resuming base construction, and re-establishing the planetary defense system.

They were also preparing to take custody of various institutions, companies, and family members held by the Mutants. These people were involved in conducting unauthorized research on Green Demon Planet. In the end, these thousands of individuals would have to wait for the Alliance Judicial Department to send a spaceship to take them.

Beep beep beep! With the alarm sounding, Yang Bo let out a relieved breath. Thanks to the tall grass interfering with detection, the drone fighter finally detected his wristwatch signal after scanning at super low altitude.

On the warship, a middle-aged man looked at the screen where a drone fighter had detected a surviving resident.

‘There are still survivors. Didn’t expect them to be this clever.’

‘Exactly. I think if it were me in this environment, surviving for even an hour would be tough.’

‘No kidding. Back then it was pure chaos.’ The people in the warship control room stared at the screen. They saw a man timidly crawling out of a cave.

The man’s hair was disheveled, sticking up in tangled messes, and his body was so thin that he looked like skin and bones. The cave suggested he had survived for a long time, and he held a piece of chewed grass root in his hand.

‘He’s just a resident.’ The warship captain was stunned, looking at the information from Yang Bo’s wristwatch. In their eyes, a ‘resident’ was the bottom rung, the most worthless person.

‘The Alliance will have to fork out a lot of money this time. Enough for this resident to enjoy the rest of his life.’ The captain thought.

Deaths didn’t cost much in compensation, but in this case, the psychological damage compensation could be enormous if they went to court. And they couldn’t let this incident go public.

Yang Bo entered a rescue pod, and the pod was sent up to the Drone Fighter.

‘I want a lawyer! How have I been living these last few months?’ Yang Bo yelled as he climbed out of the rescue pod.

Looking around, he saw several other survivors. They were in similar condition but had clean clothes and had bathed.

Yang Bo refused further medical examination, changed clothes, freshened up, and while holding a carton of milk, met one of the people demanding a lawyer.

‘Brother, you’re pretty lucky.’ Several emaciated survivors gathered around when they saw Yang Bo.

‘Who are you all?’ Yang Bo looked at them. He didn’t remember who they were.

‘Brother, we’re all immigrants from March Planet! I remember seeing you reading books on the warship every day.’ One of them quickly said.

‘So, what kind of compensation are we looking at this time?’ Yang Bo still didn’t remember these people, but it didn’t stop him from talking about compensation.

After all, who wouldn’t want to get more money? Yang Bo was ready to build a lab after this, or maybe a small shelter. The reason was simple: the ordeal had shaken him.

Afterwards, he planned to secretly try building a mecha.

He could even try building a spaceship, making it easier to escape if something went wrong.

‘At least a billion credits per person.’ The middle-aged man who’d earlier spoken with Yang Bo opened his mouth. He was so thin, his hair fallen out in clumps. He looked like a true resident.

Another young man, equally scrawny, sneered. ‘A billion isn’t enough! This planet is clearly strange. For sure, they’ll have us sign nondisclosure agreements.’

    ‘Exactly.’ The other two nodded.

Indeed, along with Yang Bo, there were four others. One of them was a woman, but they all looked like skeletons.

‘Right. We won’t accept treatment until it’s settled.’

‘Yeah, we definitely need to see a lawyer.’ They were all fired up. Clearly, they had endured enough these past weeks.

Yang Bo nodded while drinking his milk. ‘I’ll go along with what you guys say.’

    ‘Alright.’

More residents were being discovered, even some fleet soldiers.

‘Mr. Yang, we’re from the March Planet Special Affairs Handling Office. We’ve been assigned to handle the Pado Planet migration case. If you have any requests, don’t hesitate to mention them.’ In front of Yang Bo stood three people—a young man, a woman, and a middle-aged man.

‘I want to know the truth behind all this.’ Yang Bo held a carton of milk, sipping as he spoke.

‘Mr. Yang, I must inform you that this incident has broad implications. It even involves some extremist organizations. If you insist on going through legal channels, you may become a target for such organizations.’ The middle-aged man said as he looked at Yang Bo.

Seeing the three of them, Yang Bo understood they each had a different role, but he was just asking questions and wasn’t serious about legal action.

‘Alright then, what’s your maximum offer?’ Yang Bo hesitated for a moment before asking.

‘Fifty million credits.’ The young man said, watching Yang Bo’s reaction.

    ‘Plus a property.’ He added.

‘And Mr. Yang, if you settle early, you can pick the best property.’ The young man carefully observed Yang Bo, gauging whether to continue negotiating.

Yang Bo shook his head. ‘One billion credits. I don’t want property, but I do want to buy a plot of land, tax-free. As long as I’m alive, that land and its buildings remain tax-exempt.’

‘Mr. Yang, but…’ the woman started, looking at Yang Bo.

Yang Bo shook his head again. ‘Otherwise, I’ll take it to court. If I get the money, I’ll just move to another country. Those extremist organizations might not even come for me since I’m not the only one involved.’
