Chapter Index

“I wonder what happened with the mecha game? The military probably won’t give up, right?” After settling the compensation, Yang Bo still felt a bit uneasy. Last time when riding the warship, something went wrong. Who knows if there’ll be another accident this time?

There wasn’t much entertainment, just eating some nutritional meals. The warship is much more comfortable than the transport ship since it uses anti-gravity technology. You can walk around like you’re on solid ground without needing specialized suits.

There’s no internet available on the warship, probably for security reasons. After all, if you went online, it might expose your location, right? So Yang Bo could only watch some movies or read books. Honestly, these movies were well-made, but Yang Bo felt like Alliance movies always painted the other two countries in a bad light.

Today Yang Bo watched a movie criticizing the Azure Blue Empire. It told the story of a slave who followed his master into battle and earned merits. But when he returned home for his wedding, his wife was taken by his master before they could even marry. This made the slave feel deeply wronged, and during the next battle, he killed his master at a critical moment and led the enemy army back to his homeland. However, his family had already been hanged by his master’s clan, including his children. The protagonist ended up storming the master’s castle with the enemy and took revenge.

“Tsk tsk.” From Yang Bo’s perspective, the movie seemed reasonable. From the viewpoint of an Alliance citizen, it made sense too. But for someone in the Azure Blue Empire, they wouldn’t agree with it at all.

That’s because someone’s worldview and education are tied together. Just look at those ancient lackeys of high officials on Earth; they even thought of themselves as better than others.

It was kind of like Yang Bo’s earlier self who did exactly what his smart wristwatch said, without questioning it. He didn’t think there was anything wrong with it and believed that’s just how things should be done.

Of course, Yang Bo only watched it for entertainment. The movie was set in ancient times with cold weapon battles. Yang Bo noticed that there weren’t any superpowers or anything like that in the film.

“Tsk tsk, the higher-ups really keep things under wraps for the lower ranks,” Yang Bo muttered to himself.

Yang Bo placed all of his documentation and his badge for the Emerald Territory into the mecha’s storage space. For now, he didn’t plan to stay here long, though if the Green Demon Planet developed enough, he might come back. It wasn’t very likely though since planets like this, full of super resources, were always closely guarded by the higher-ups—unless…

Yang Bo had no interest in rebelling. Fundamentally, he knew he wasn’t the type to lead such things. “March Planet probably has plenty of secrets too,” he thought as his mind drifted back to the place he intended to live in the future.

After half a month, it was finally time to set sail. Yang Bo and the others were transferred to a smaller warship.

After one space jump, Yang Bo noticed a refining process seemed to have taken place in his mecha’s storage. Both the mecha itself and the energy weapons inside, including the large hammer, seemed subtly enhanced. Though only the external energy metal of the mecha had changed.

They transferred to another transport ship halfway through the journey and experienced another space jump. In total, after nearly two months of traveling, they reached March Planet.

March Planet looked a lot like Earth’s American and African continents, although the two continents here were closer together on one side and farther apart on the other. The Western Region had both a North and South Pole, whereas the Eastern Region did not. The two ends of the Eastern Region seemed to be covered with icy seas.

Alma City was located in the Northern Hemisphere of the Eastern Region. You could clearly see the massive desert running through the middle of the Eastern Region at the equator, with green land to the north and south.

Alma City lay just slightly above the equator of the Eastern Region.

“Not even a space elevator?” Yang Bo muttered as he noticed that while Oma had a skyport, it lacked a space elevator. People could only ride spaceships up and down.

Yang Bo sat in a resident’s seat on the spaceship. His entire body was surrounded by liquid. The cargo transport detached from the skyport and began descending towards the planet.

“Boss.” Yang Bo got off the ship and emerged from the exit, where he saw the Fat Boss waiting for him.

“Yang Bo, so good to see you!” The Fat Boss was surprised to notice that Yang Bo had gained a bit of weight and couldn’t help but marvel at it.

“Here are your identification documents and such. Keep them safe. Honestly, updating the wristwatch info isn’t really that necessary.” Liu Zhijie handed a bag to Yang Bo.

Yang Bo nodded, then leaned in with a mysterious look. “Boss, I think I might have superpowers now.”

“Huh!” The Fat Boss’s eyes widened.

“Yeah, I feel like I’ve become really strong. Anyway, I can’t really talk about it, I’ve signed a non-disclosure agreement.” Yang Bo hadn’t quite decided which superpower he would show off first. His top choice was light.

It wasn’t for any particular reason—the power of light would stand out, visible from a long distance. Electric abilities were much more subtle.

    “Tell me more?”

“Well, I was stuck eating grass roots for a long time. When our spaceship got into trouble, I ended up on this planet full of tall grass and terrifying monsters. I dug a hole in the ground to hide. When I got too hungry, I started eating the grass. Later, while continuing to expand the hole, I found some tender grass roots that weren’t too bad to eat.”

“When they rescued me, I only weighed 35 kilos. I put the weight back on during the ship ride,” Yang Bo said vaguely.

The Fat Boss sucked in a sharp breath. He knew about the Green Demon Planet. The situation there was complicated. The fact that Yang Bo survived was nothing short of a miracle.

“Actually, it’s kind of like those secret techniques, some of them allow you to avoid eating. Don’t you remember?” The Fat Boss said as they got into the company car.

Yang Bo suddenly realized, “Oh! Now that you mention it, it does sound familiar. I wonder what superpower mine is though… I just feel super strong.”

“Take your time. This time, the dorm is better. The incident with the spaceship gave you a solid compensation, right? Four million credits last time, so you must have gotten quite a bit this time.” The Fat Boss chuckled.

“Yeah, I got a billion.” Yang Bo nodded, looking totally honest.

The Fat Boss was floored. Had he known the payout would be so high, he would’ve signed up for the compensation too.

“I also bought a plot of land for cheap, and it’s tax-free forever.” Yang Bo added, looking pleased. He’d need to use the boss’s connections to find a good construction company.

The Fat Boss was even more impressed. Tax-free land? That was precious. March Planet might be offering tax incentives now, but as it develops, they wouldn’t hesitate to start charging.

“Boss, I’ll need a lawyer to sign the compensation agreement with the officials.” Yang Bo said.

“No problem.” The Fat Boss now considered Yang Bo as one of his own. After all, he was the one who had nurtured Yang Bo, and Yang Bo trusted him with everything.

“Yang Bo, are you still planning to continue your contract with the company?” The Fat Boss asked, now considering whether Yang Bo, with all his money, would even want to keep working.
