Chapter Index

Yang Bo took a taxi to his purchased land. The entire plot was a long triangle, bordered by a river on the right and the sea on the left. The top of the triangle, where the sea and river met, had about one-tenth of the area as flat land.

The rest sloped gently backward, forming a hillside. Behind the plot, both sides were almost cliffs. Near the river, the cliffs were over a hundred meters high, and by the sea, they were even steeper, forming a long triangle like a kidney shape.

Basically, it was just an extension of the mountain range.

Behind the hill was a raised, tall, red mountain range.

To be precise, the location was in the northeastern area of Alma City, no longer considered part of the Oma Plain, and covered an area of 21,572 square kilometers.

It was a huge area. Unfortunately, Yang Bo couldn’t reach the place because the river was about 100 meters wide. The river flowed out from the Redstone Mountains behind, as the name suggests, filled with red rocks. Unsurprisingly, it contained a lot of iron.

“It’s too big, this plot.” Yang Bo initially didn’t think 20,000 square kilometers was large. But now, looking at it up close, the riverbank stretched almost 280 kilometers, and it was even longer near the sea.

“Building a wall around this place would cost quite a bit.”

“At least there’s a beach area.” Yang Bo looked at the river and sea connecting point, where several kilometers of white beach stretched.

“But the feng shui here is like ‘two waters washing the plow.'”

While Yang Bo was surveying his land, Fatty, who had just finished submitting a report to the March Planet branch of An Zhijie Corporation, received a phone call.

“Fatty, something big has happened. Pado Planet has been occupied by Red Earl’s people.” A voice said as soon as the call was answered.

Cough, cough, cough! Liu Zhijie, who was feeling uncomfortable seeing the caller’s name, had been drinking water. Hearing the news, he choked.

“How is that possible? The planetary alert system and the Planetary Fleet… Even if Pado Planet doesn’t have a main fleet, it still has a few warships.” Liu Zhijie suppressed his coughing as he asked with shock.

“Half of the fleet officers were Red Earl’s people. They took advantage of the Pado Planet civilian alert system upgrading to a military alert system to seize control of the planetary defense system. The members of Pado Planet’s Parliament and those who hadn’t left in time were taken hostage. They’re now demanding the Parliament recognize Pado Planet’s independence.” The voice on the phone continued.

Liu Zhijie clicked his tongue and sighed: “I had a feeling something was off. Last time, Red Earl’s men easily took over the main control room of SkyDome Amusement Park. What’s going on now?”

“The Alliance has already blocked the space jump points to Pado Planet and occupied the other side’s jump points.” The voice on the phone continued.

“Red Earl’s lot aren’t capable of much. It would’ve been enough to secure the jump point earlier.” Liu Zhijie said with a face of indifference, not really caring about the events.

“Bad luck. They happened to run into a fleet returning from Green Demon Planet for a break after battling pirates. Though the Planetary Fleet suffered heavy casualties in the pirate battle, it’s still a Jin Gang-class fleet. With its artillery power and energy protection, it’s on a completely different level. They reportedly destroyed three rebel warships, leaving Pado Planet now with just two warships.” The person on the other end continued.

Liu Zhijie took a sip of water: “Tch, tch. The commander of Green Demon Planet’s fleet is probably getting promoted to admiral after this.”

“Definitely. Too bad their family doesn’t have any young geniuses. The fleet commander is a 36-year-old woman, still unmarried. Originally, she was a major general, but she wiped out two Sea Wolf-class pirate warships and captured the pirate leader. During her tenure, Green Demon Planet became independent, and the Alliance gained more Gene Serum resources.”

“And now, she’s run into this once-in-a-lifetime rebellion. She’s got insane luck.” The voice on the other end continued.

Liu Zhijie sighed: “Our family’s good-for-nothings don’t appeal to her.”

“Nonsense. Her family’s ancestors used to be what? We’re better than them.”

“The reason our family declined is because of people like you who keep mentioning ancestors. Now, we’re stuck hustling in the gray zone, doing dirty work for others.” Liu Zhijie retorted sharply.

“Fatty, if you’ve got the guts, don’t come back to the family. Otherwise, I’ll beat you up every time I see you. And what’s wrong with mentioning our ancestors?” The person on the phone, clearly enraged by Liu Zhijie’s mockery, snapped.

Liu Zhijie didn’t care: “I’m not going back, so what? I can’t stand you guys always going on about ancestors. You don’t get anything done.”

“Fatty, you fat idiot. Next year’s your last year to get married. Just wait to get beaten when you come home.” The voice on the other end, after cooling down from the earlier outburst, sneered.

Hearing this, Liu Zhijie shivered a little. Then came another warning: “By the way, the Grey Ash Organization might trouble Green Demon Planet’s residents. Be careful. The ones executing orders are well-hidden, and the reward from the Alliance is high. Don’t be careless.”

“Uh-huh. Are you guys taking over the Grey Ash Organization’s vacancies?” Liu Zhijie nodded and asked.

“Yep, our family, the Zhou family, and the Mei family have partnered and made an agreement with the Alliance.”

“By the way, something classified recently happened on Green Demon Planet. The fleet that saved you was actually on a secret mission. We only know its destination was classified as top-secret.” The other person added.

Liu Zhijie was startled: “What sort of event?”

“No idea. Very few in the Parliament know. The Parliament activated a special procedure after this. The military’s top commander and the chief justice of the Ministry of Justice have both confirmed the procedure as lawful and valid.” The voice on the other end replied.

Liu Zhijie ended the call and frowned slightly: “Red Earl’s people have certainly gotten smarter over these centuries, just bad luck.”

Yang Bo wandered around for a while before returning to his room. He looked at the software on his device and prepared to browse the internet.

First, he opened the news, only to be dumbfounded. Pado Planet had been seized by Red Earl’s forces, and thousands of prominent figures had been taken hostage.

Yang Bo was shocked. Upon thinking more carefully, he realized the issue with the military ship he had taken last time was probably caused by Red Earl’s sabotage, diverting the military’s attention.

He kept reading and learned that even Pado Planet’s planetary defense system had been taken over by Red Earl’s forces during the civilian-to-military system upgrade.

Even the Pado Planet Planetary Fleet had rebelled, though they had no main warships.

Photos showed the captives with collars restricting their superpowers, and there were demands for a planetary-wide independence vote.

They had even set up a physical paper voting process with voting stations. However, every station had armed robots… Who would dare vote against it? They’d likely be killed on the spot.

“Glad I escaped in time.” Yang Bo patted his chest. With even the planetary defense system compromised, individual strength was meaningless.

“Though, I might not be so helpless now.” Yang Bo had gained some confidence. After all, if things got bad, running away was always an option, right?
