Chapter Index

“Ah!” Yang Bo looked at the Fat Boss in shock.

The Fat Boss chuckled, “First, practice this Gene Serum. We’ll talk about forging later.”

The Fat Boss didn’t mention how much a blacksmith could earn, but the first step was successfully forging. If you failed, compensating for the materials would cost even more.

Energy Metal was quite rare across the whole Outer Space, and gathering enough materials to craft an Energy Weapon was incredibly difficult.

As a low-level blacksmith, you couldn’t get any commissions. People would rather pay a high price for a skilled blacksmith than risk giving materials to a low-level one.

So, the only way for low-level blacksmiths to improve was to buy their own materials and practice, honing their craft.

Forging was the pinnacle of all technical industries but could also be a bottomless pit.

No amount of money was enough for a blacksmith. Even though Fatty came from a wealthy family, he dared not linger in this field.

“So it’s really profitable?” Yang Bo looked at the Fat Boss with excitement.

“It’s profitable, yes, but also very costly. Try searching how much even the lowest quality Energy Metal costs,” the Fat Boss shifted the conversation.

Yang Bo searched online for Energy Metal and gasped. He didn’t expect it to be so expensive. Had he known, he would’ve brought more from Green Demon Planet.

Yang Bo then looked up Energy Stones, but they were no less expensive and also came in different grades.

“Now search for Attribute Energy Metal and Attribute Energy Gems.” Seeing Yang Bo’s clueless expression, the Fat Boss laughed.

Yang Bo looked at the numbers and gaped. The things he brought back with his Mecha were worth so much?

It dawned on him why the Alliance agreed to Green Demon Planet’s independence—the value difference between here and there was astronomical, about ten thousand times.

“These items are regulated by the Alliance. The prices we’re seeing are about ten times higher than the official prices.”

“Of course, it’s hard to acquire these things through official channels,” the Fat Boss explained further.

That night, Yang Bo returned home and played a video, the one the Fat Boss gave him.

It was a tutorial on mixing three types of Gene Injections. It seemed simple: just add the materials in the right order at the right time using different techniques and temperatures.

The key was timing, technique, and temperature. Master those three, and you’d succeed.

“Once the tools and materials the Fat Boss promised are here, I’ll give it a shot,” Yang Bo closed the video and set the player aside. It was a standalone device for viewing videos.

Next, Yang Bo went online and opened the black market website. You could buy anything there, including all models of Mechas below the ninth generation.

They even sold Laser Cannons for Mechas, components for Warship Laser Cannons, and Plasma Cannons!

You could also custom-order a real human clone. Whatever type of person you wanted, using a Biological Sample from the original, they’d clone one for you. What you did with it? That was up to you.

They also sold slaves, but deliveries only took place in the Azure Blue Empire. They had all types of slaves.

There was even an A-rank Genetic Evolver for sale. Yang Bo found out it was a former count, stripped of his noble status after a rebellion, and turned into a slave along with his whole family.

They also sold Warships and Fighter Jets.

“This place is too dark,” Yang Bo muttered.

“But there are probably scammers here too,” Yang Bo recalled the Fat Boss saying many people got scammed, losing their money with no goods ever delivered.

The Fat Boss recommended a merchant who sold Gene Serum materials, saying there’d be no issues.

Yang Bo wondered whether this merchant was part of the Fat Boss’s family.

Yang Bo also found blueprints for building Spaceships.

There were even noble titles from the Azure Blue Empire for sale. You could find anything on that site, making Yang Bo’s head spin.

“Once I get hold of the technology for purifying Gene Serum materials, I can use mutated beasts from the Ocean to source my own materials,” Yang Bo plotted his future path as a Gene Injector.

“Evil apothecaries had better watch out. To level up, I’ll hunt them for skill points.” He realized his ability required hunting.

“Upholding justice is my duty. I won’t hesitate.” Yang Bo felt no guilt about killing the wicked.

Afterward, while Yang Bo was doing tasks, he also explored the Ocean. Though there weren’t many mutated beasts, there were still enough. Without using his Energy Suit, he avoided detection by the government’s drones.

Meanwhile, Yang Bo waited on the materials and tools the Fat Boss had promised.

At the Company, Yang Bo bumped into colleagues a few times. They were there on missions too, but they didn’t greet each other, just nodded slightly.

In the Basement, Yang Bo was training the Invisible Mice, one of which had grown into a giant using Bio Summon.

He summoned all the Invisible Mice, fed them, and restored them to their human forms.

These Invisible Mice were skittish. When Yang Bo initially transformed back into his human form, they’d immediately go invisible and scamper into the lightless nests he had prepared.

It was a lot better now. At least, when seeing Yang Bo transform, they didn’t instantly turn invisible but shrank back, watching him cautiously.

“I wonder if their next generation will still have Invisibility,” Yang Bo worried but there was no choice. He had to push forward with the experiment.

“If it fails, I’ll consider cloning. Seems cloning mutated beasts is tough.” He braced for two possible outcomes.

There was no way Yang Bo would use the Invisible Mice as Gene Serum materials. What a joke! “Looks like this bachelor mouse needs a mate,” he thought, looking at the lone male. Yang Bo planned to breed it with others to see if their offspring would inherit other abilities.

Stepping out of the Basement, Yang Bo went online and checked if March Planet had similar types of mice. If not, he’d have to buy them from the black market.

But he didn’t fully trust the black market. Sellers would know his address and other private information. Who knew when that might come back to bite him?

“Good thing there are mice on March Planet,” Yang Bo sighed in relief. At least he didn’t need to risk buying them on the black market.
