Chapter 173: Taking Action
by xennovelPS: Yesterday I caught a cold and went to bed early. Will try to get the remaining two chapters by noon.
From afar, Robert saw Yang Bo’s Flying Car enter the garage, then Yang Bo stepped out, glanced at the sea, and went inside.
Robert had already made plans. Even if something went wrong on Yang Bo’s side, he had an alibi, plus the most advanced equipment provided by the organization.
On the surface, Robert just looked like a wealthy man out for a fishing trip.
Sitting on the yacht, he leisurely enjoyed the sea breeze. This area was in a safety zone, with no large or dangerous sea creatures, as they were hunted by underwater drones.
The underwater drones only ensured regional sea safety, not the entire ocean, which was too vast to manage.
Back at home, Yang Bo was pondering how to deal with the intruder in his home.
“Why wait for him to come to me? Why can’t I take the initiative?”
“But it’s safer in my home. Here, no energy fluctuations will leak out. If I go to his place, the fluctuations might leak and attract the officials, which would be troublesome.” Yang Bo wasn’t unwilling to strike first; there were just many restrictions.
After nightfall, Robert put on his gear and submerged into the sea, heading toward the target location.
When Robert reached Yang Bo’s place, he found that what he had prepared was useless.
The most difficult door to open was wide open, and the homeowner was strolling in the distance on the lawn, seemingly observing something.
Robert felt a surge of joy and slowly entered the house. As soon as he stepped in, he pulled out a spherical device.
“No detection equipment?” Robert was surprised. This was the second unexpected thing. First, the open door, and second, how simple the house’s interior was.
“No smart devices or detection systems?” He carefully examined the room.
“Is it because he’s broke or has a psychological issue?” Robert speculated. How could an ordinary person like Yang Bo not use smart devices?
Yang Bo was speechless. He had been pretending to stroll on the lawn for two hours before the intruder finally showed up.
After the intruder entered, Yang Bo wandered for another ten minutes before heading back inside. It seemed like he casually closed the door, but in fact, his metal superpower had already locked it tightly.
Yang Bo used the sounds of his footsteps to easily pinpoint the intruder’s location — behind the door of his bedroom.
Robert heard Yang Bo enter the kitchen and open a cupboard. He muttered to himself, “Is he going to eat something?”
Yang Bo had actually gone to the kitchen to grab his energy suit. The kitchen cabinets appeared ordinary but were really a safe.
After putting on the energy suit, Yang Bo picked up his energy weapon and walked to his bedroom door, kicking it forcefully.
The sudden action left Robert no time to react. After all, who would randomly kick their own door like that?
Bang! Instinctively, Robert raised his hands to block the door’s impact and promptly appeared at the door.
And then!
He was dumbfounded! What the hell? Where was the guy who had been aimlessly strolling outside? And who was this person in an energy suit glowing with a faint energy light, holding an energy weapon? In the next second, an energy weapon was pressed against Robert’s throat.
“Tsk tsk.” Yang Bo had expected a fight, but when the intruder suddenly emerged and then paused, Yang Bo, who was ready to explode, simply pressed his energy weapon to Robert’s neck.
Robert didn’t dare move. He knew this accursed room could only be broken with mecha.
“Who are you?” Robert asked, trying to stay calm despite the unusual situation.
“Take off your gear.” Yang Bo didn’t want to act immediately, fearing he might damage the advanced equipment.
Also, who wants a room covered in blood and guts? It would leave psychological scars when living in it later.
“When did you notice me?” Robert asked while beginning to remove his gear.
“Don’t try anything. This room is made with double-layer warship armor, and the glass is special warship-grade material. Unless you have a mech, you’re not getting through.” Yang Bo added.
Robert’s heart sank. He should have been cautious after the first surprise. After encountering the second inside the house, he should have retreated.
Robert didn’t know how many people Yang Bo had with him, but seeing how confident Yang Bo was in blocking the door, he must have had some backup.
“I think there’s some misunderstanding. You work for An Zhijie Corporation, don’t you?” Robert asked while removing his gear.
“You have 30 seconds to remove it.” Yang Bo didn’t respond to the question, issuing a command instead. His energy weapon pulsed with an intimidating energy fluctuation.
Robert’s mind was a mess. Everything had been so carefully planned. How had it ended up like this? “Tell me about this gear.” Robert finally removed his equipment, which looked like a wetsuit.
“Sir…” Robert tried to stall, hoping to find an opportunity to act, but Yang Bo kept him firmly in his sights, giving no chance for any tricks.
In the next moment, Robert felt a strong impact. His vision went black, and he passed out.
So unfair!
This was Robert’s last thought. A man in an energy suit had charged directly into an unarmored person.
Who would suffer more?
Robert wasn’t without armor, but who would’ve imagined that a simple infiltration mission would go so wrong?
Yang Bo hadn’t acted sooner because he didn’t want to damage such advanced technology.
So, the moment Robert removed his gear, Yang Bo used his Charging Skill to slam him into the wall, clothed in an energy suit. It was kind of ruthless.
From a nearby cabinet, he pulled out a collar and fastened it around the unconscious Robert’s neck.
Then he dragged the unconscious Robert to the basement and threw him into a dark room, leaving him for the time being.
Yang Bo mainly wanted to check out Robert’s place to see if there was anything valuable. As for Robert’s life or death, Yang Bo had no strong feelings about it.
“Even the most advanced technology has its limits,” Yang Bo muttered, easily transforming into Robert. With that, he gained access to the equipment and realized that high-tech wasn’t as perfect as he’d imagined.
The suit could merge its wearer with the environment and suppress energy fluctuations, preventing the planetary security systems from detecting them, but it came at a cost in terms of energy levels.
Because of its low energy signature, moving too fast in the suit would cause it to lose synchronization with the surrounding environment, making it visible.
“Time to move out!” Yang Bo prepared to personally test the suit’s effectiveness.
