Chapter Index

Special environments refer to situations where mechas face various unique scenarios, such as height restrictions inside buildings. Although Yang Bo hadn’t received this kind of training, in the Mecha Game Underground World, mecha pilots must engrain topographical data in their minds—height, width, and space awareness.

At this moment, the mecha that had just gone to guard the elevator returned. As soon as it arrived, Yang Bo’s mecha violently slammed into it, sending it flying.

“There’s an ace mecha pilot! An ace!” The pilot controlling the mecha had just pushed open the fire door when he saw Yang Bo retract his mecha’s weapon. Blood was already seeping from his two companions’ mechas, and he screamed in panic over his channel.

Then, Yang Bo rammed into him again, sending him flying. Yang Bo’s mecha and the opponent’s both charged into the elevator area. Knowing there were two people by the elevator, Yang Bo immediately fired two shots from his laser cannon as soon as he entered.

The two men holding laser guns had barely noticed the incoming mecha before they were blown apart by the laser shots.

    Mecha Piloting +4!

    Gene Mastery +4!

Between Yang Bo’s mecha and the enemy’s mecha was a door. The opponent’s laser cannon was simply bent out of shape by Yang Bo’s mecha hand, rendering it useless.

Then Yang Bo did a sweeping leg maneuver, knocking the enemy mecha to the ground. Yang Bo’s mecha knee followed, slamming down heavily.

“Ace…” The mecha pilot choked out two words on the channel.

Silence hung in the channel. Many felt a deep sense of dread. From the first floor to the sixth, how much time had passed?

In the military control room, everyone stared at the alarming data. In such a short time, someone had killed over ten armed men from the Red Earl, and several mechas too. How was this even possible?

“Find out who it is!” A military leader couldn’t hold back anymore, given that this operation had the Chief Justice’s special authorization.

“The IP address is from March Planet. The house owner is Robert, 46 years old, a researcher at a biotech company. Single.” The information from the IP address was pulled up immediately.

“Keep a close watch. If his mecha is destroyed, give him a chance to revive.” There were unmanned mechas on board the warship, prepared for players on the leaderboard.

“Also, remember to retrieve the black box from the unmanned mecha later to examine the combat data.”

    “Understood.”

“These mechas are tough. The skills they hand out are weak. Better focus on Gene Mastery for now.” Yang Bo, hearing the sound of mechas on the seventh floor, shrank back into the sixth floor staircase.

Then, he decisively turned around, searching the office area. Not finding anyone, he was a bit disappointed.

However, he soon came to another staircase on the same floor, finding two mechas stationed outside the fire door.

Yang Bo opened the fire door and charged forward, knocking both mechas down the staircase.

Yang Bo’s mecha leaped from the sixth-floor staircase, landing between the fifth and sixth floors. One foot crushed the cockpit of a mecha, while the other mecha was pierced straight through by a mecha weapon.

The two mechas on the fifth-floor platform, tense and alert, suddenly saw their teammates crash down between the two floors. Before they could get up, they were KO’d.

“Ace mecha pilot in the left staircase!” The pilots from those two mechas called out, immediately activating their laser cannon auto-attack systems.

Just as the two mechas fired at Yang Bo, multiple laser beams shot upward from beneath them. The two mechas on the platform were instantly bombarded by the incoming mechas, wailing in distress as the laser fire concentrated downward.

Laser cannon auto-attacks have a priority system, targeting whoever poses the greatest threat. The fourth-floor mecha firing its laser cannon was deemed the most threatening, so it stopped attacking Yang Bo and aimed at the enemy instead.

Yang Bo took cover behind the fire door, igniting his jetpack. His mecha shot forward like a bullet.

The two mechas were knocked off balance. All three mechas tumbled together, and Yang Bo, being a bit too close, couldn’t unleash his full power.

Still, it was enough. One of the two mechas had its laser cannon yanked out of shape by Yang Bo’s mecha, rendering it temporarily useless in combat.

At this time, three more teammates arrived from the fourth floor. The first used two fire doors as shields, while the other two fired from behind.

Three mechas rushed up to help, eliminating one target. The last one was handled by Yang Bo alone.

“Dude, you’re incredible.” When the three saw the two downed mechas on the platform between the fifth and sixth floors, they were dumbfounded.

Meanwhile, Yang Bo had already entered the fire door, dealing with two enemies in energy suits.

Not surprisingly, he received Gene Mastery +4!

The mecha pilots awarded him Mecha Piloting +8!

Yang Bo ignored them entirely, heading up through another staircase.

Sure enough, earlier there had been sounds of many mechas, but now only one remained, as reported—four mechas, including an ace.

This mecha pilot screamed as they activated their laser cannon auto-attack, firing at Yang Bo’s fire door.

Yang Bo rammed into it, stabbing straight into the cockpit. The pilot was still shouting, “He’s here! He’s here…” when they died.

Yang Bo entered the seventh floor, spotting two enemies in energy suits fleeing wildly. But how could they outrun a laser cannon?

Gene Mastery +4! Two enemies down.

As for the mecha pilots, they still contributed to his Mecha Piloting skill, though Yang Bo had stopped keeping track. (If I didn’t, this would be filler.) “There’s still two floors left?” Yang Bo didn’t care. What if the mecha blows up? No big deal.

Maybe it was his crow mouth, but as soon as Yang Bo reached the eighth floor, a black cannon barrel loomed before him. Then, everything went dark.

    “What a dirty move!”

    “Coward!”

“Shameless!” Yang Bo nearly tossed his controls aside in frustration. The opponent had set up a defense cannon at the staircase, and his warship armor couldn’t withstand that since it didn’t have energy shields.

“Dear player, due to your exceptional performance, you’ve been awarded a special revival opportunity. Will you accept?” Just as Yang Bo was about to review his progress, a prompt appeared on the screen.

“Huh?” Happiness came too suddenly. Yang Bo hastily accepted, fearing he would miss it if he took even a second longer.

Meanwhile, in the military, they noticed Yang Bo’s mecha data, realizing what he had run into.

“Notify the other mecha pilots.” The military leader immediately issued a command.

Soon after, numerous players received a warning.

Warning: The enemy has deployed extremely dangerous weapons in the core zone.

Yang Bo respawned in a nearby green area, looking at the office building from a distance.

“This time, I’ll go from the top down for my revenge.” Yang Bo made up his mind to start from the top.
