Chapter 180: Resurrection
by xennovelPS: Wishing everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.
Of course, unless something unexpected happens, there’s an ambush of mechas waiting at the entrance downstairs.
“Troublesome. If only I could go in myself, I could infiltrate directly.” Yang Bo muttered while carefully surveying the surroundings. The rooftop had no equipment.
Since these public buildings were prepared for future wars, there was no equipment installed on the rooftop; it was all located one level below.
After wandering around, he couldn’t find another way in. There was a maintenance passage at the original location of the defense cannon, but the mecha couldn’t fit.
Besides, the mecha didn’t carry any bombs this time, probably because they feared the bombs’ destructive power was too great.
“Looks like I’ll have to brute force it.”
“This unmanned mecha is really useless.” Yang Bo’s heart grumbled in frustration.
This unmanned mecha was originally designed as cannon fodder, so it wasn’t equipped with high specs.
The entrance was a downward passage, sealed by a layer of metal doors.
Yang Bo pushed the mecha’s control lever to the max. The jetpack erupted with tremendous force, instantly launching Yang Bo’s mecha into the sky.
A thousand meters!
Two thousand meters! Five thousand meters! At six thousand meters, Yang Bo cut off the jetpack. The momentum slowly faded as the mecha came to a stop and began to fall. Just as it started dropping, Yang Bo spun around and the jetpack activated again.
The mecha’s speed accelerated, faster and faster. Mach two! Mach three! Mach five! Mach nine! As the sliding door of the roof came into view, Yang Bo closed his eyes.
Then, the entire mecha crashed heavily into the entrance’s warship armor door.
When he opened his eyes again, the virtual screen had gone black. The mecha lost connection again.
Yang Bo was gambling this time, because there was essentially no other solution for the rooftop.
Two mecha piloting +8!
“There were two more unlucky guys?” Staring at the dark virtual screen, Yang Bo found the information in his head unbelievable.
The only solution was a frontal crash. Although the door was made of warship-grade armor, it was fixed to a frame, not assembled like the ship’s structure, forming a single unit.
This door slid to the side when opened.
Yang Bo’s maneuver astonished everyone on the warship, but soon they saw that the area where the mecha crashed was completely damaged, and even the internal equipment was wrecked, with smoke rising from the wreckage.
“Dear player, due to your excellent performance, you are granted one chance to respawn.” Yang Bo was a bit nervous, but soon a piece of information appeared on the virtual screen.
When Yang Bo respawned and returned to the rooftop, he saw the 100-ton mecha, which had fallen from several thousand meters at over Mach nine, smashed through the sliding door.
The impact was enormous. Not only was the door completely destroyed, but even the equipment below was damaged.
Among the rubble, there were indeed two mechas. These two must have been guarding underneath to prevent anyone from coming down.
Yang Bo charged into the equipment level without encountering anyone, slashing at the equipment madly. Eventually, two mechas came up from the floor below.
Yang Bo had also destroyed the building’s energy system. The two mechas had rushed up after hearing the loud commotion, only to be met by Yang Bo.
Yang Bo treated his mecha like a projectile, launching it directly at the incoming mechas, crashing them together.
As soon as the two mechas climbed up the stairs, they were slammed into the wall by Yang Bo’s mecha.
Before they could react, Yang Bo’s mecha weapon had already slashed them to pieces.
This was because of remote control. The person wouldn’t feel the real impact.
But the other side was controlled by real people. The two mecha pilots were so stunned from the collision that they momentarily didn’t know how to respond.
Yang Bo didn’t care about the warning alarms inside the virtual mecha, which kept blaring endlessly.
Yang Bo then quickly dashed below the equipment level. He saw two or three dozen people wearing energy suits, all looking dumbfounded. Among them, five or six wore the exclusive Red Earl battle suits.
The 20-30 people were bewildered. The rooftop defenses were the strongest, with a warship armor door and two mechas guarding it.
And just two seconds ago, two more mechas had gone up. How did a single Alliance mecha make it down here?
Before they could react, Yang Bo’s mecha’s laser cannon fired.
In less than three seconds, a loud boom echoed. The scene of 27 superhumans igniting in an explosive blaze after getting struck by the laser cannons played out.
“One A-class, four B-class, and a bunch of C-class.” Yang Bo reviewed the information in his mind. Most of it went to mecha piloting, with the rest going to Gene Mastery.
Yang Bo didn’t stop for a moment, ignoring the warning alarms inside the mecha. The jetpack fired up again, taking him outside the corridor, where several soldiers were adjusting the angle of their defense cannons, obviously aiming to attack him.
“Damn bastards!” Yang Bo cursed inside. The laser cannon on his mecha fired instantly.
A few people in energy suits stared in despair at Yang Bo’s mecha. They couldn’t figure out how, with four mechas above, one mecha had broken through.
Just then, Yang Bo’s allies broke through from below. The people saw the defense cannons set up at the entrance to the staircase and gasped in shock, looking at Yang Bo’s mecha in disbelief, wondering where he had come from.
Yang Bo glanced at the dozen or so mechas coming up and nodded. Then he turned and left the rooftop.
Because at that moment, Yang Bo’s mecha received a message that there was an enemy base about six kilometers away.
“Looks like I’ve performed well. The Military has already assigned me a mission.” Yang Bo smugly thought to himself.
It seemed Robert’s identity might have been exposed by the enemy strategy.
Yang Bo controlled his mecha, jumping to a nearby rooftop, then leaping again to land on another distant building.
“Why does that look so familiar?” The female captain on the warship watched the mecha jump across the rooftops, feeling like the movements seemed oddly familiar.
Six kilometers was just a matter of minutes for a mecha. When Yang Bo arrived, he found it was another public building. It seemed like a police station.
The defense cannon on the rooftop was also missing, and below, the player’s mechas were locked in a fierce battle with those inside the building. The lasers lit up half the sky.
This time, Yang Bo didn’t destroy his mecha. Instead, he leapt down from the rooftop.
Just as the mecha was five or six meters above the ground, the jetpack activated, and Yang Bo’s mecha swooped in like a plane, drawing a beautiful arc and rushing into the police station.
