Chapter Index

When the screen reappeared, Yang Bo looked at the Mecha he was controlling, feeling a bit confused. His Mecha was clearly in a battle position.

“This is a second-hand junk? Did someone disconnect?” Yang Bo glanced at the Mecha’s data, feeling somewhat frustrated.

Somewhere in the Alliance, a Mecha game player stared at the blacked-out virtual screen and cursed, “What kind of crappy game is this, dropping connections like that?”

Yang Bo found his Mecha stationed in a ditch, with a highway behind it and some barbed wire in front. The lasers being fired from the front were noticeably brighter and larger.

As soon as he peeked out, he sensed something wrong and quickly ducked. A bright beam flew over his head and hit a building behind him, creating a massive hole.

“A military base?” Yang Bo saw in the distance a massive receiving antenna, like a giant dish, about 20 meters in diameter. And there was more than one.

He looked at his mini-map, noticing nearly 50 teammates around, but they were all too suppressed to even peek out.

The detection range of the Mecha was limited, but the enemy’s fire allowed him to pinpoint their location.

“Obviously, their radar is stronger. Every time we show ourselves, we get attacked.” After about half a minute, Yang Bo realized that the enemy’s radar was superior, their automatic attack system more advanced, and their Laser Cannons far stronger.

The radar on his Mecha was located on the head, so to lock onto the enemy, he had to at least pop his head up and reveal the Laser Cannon on his shoulder to fire back.

He followed the ditch for a while and found no way to get closer to the military base. There was a sewer system, but it was too small for anyone to crawl through.

“What should I do now?” Yang Bo stared at the scene, feeling puzzled.

This ditch was part of the base’s outer region, about 1.5 kilometers from the enemy’s Laser Cannons.

For Laser weapons, there’s not much derence between 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers. The only change lies in the radar’s range and lock-on speed.

Then he noticed an advertisement billboard on the ground. Yang Bo grabbed it and held it up.

Nothing happened. This made Yang Bo look at the base’s radar system with renewed respect.

Next, Yang Bo searched carefully and found a bright metal panel.

He used the metal panel as a mirror to get a better view of the military base’s layout.

Unexpectedly, a shot from the base’s Laser Cannon hit the metal panel, blasting a large hole through it, leaving burn marks around the edges.

Seeing this, Yang Bo immediately shouted on the public channel, “Brothers, quickly find a shiny metal panel and use it as a mirror to observe. The enemy’s Laser Cannon will target the panel.”

    “Really?”

    “That’s impossible.”

The public channel was filled with voices of doubt.

“It’s true.” At that moment, someone shouted inside the channel.

“It really works.” Another person spoke up.

    “But what’s the point?”

Yang Bo was speechless. First, you need to observe the enemy. Now, with just a metal panel, you can trick the enemy’s system into firing.

By the time the enemy realizes and adjusts their intelligent system, at least his side could openly observe the enemy’s position.

“None of the weapons are working right now.” Yang Bo had just glanced up to see that the enemy’s fire zone was enormous.

Even if they tried using physical weaponry, the enemy’s laser could hit their exposed ammunition the moment it fired.

Back in the Military offices, a few top commanders frowned deeply. This was Pado Planet’s biggest military base.

Moreover, it was where the Red Earl had the most personnel present. The base housed various weapons, anti-aircraft cannons, Mechas, and even some orbital cannon components, or fighter jets.

“We need to eliminate this place quickly. If those guys inside manage to deploy the base’s full arsenal, we’ll be in trouble.”

“The key issue is, supposedly, there are over 2,000 people imprisoned here.”

“And they include members of Pado Planet’s Parliament.”

“If you ask me, these useless politicians should be blown to pieces with a Warship.”

“Why isn’t the Red Earl killing anyone yet? Come on! Kill them all!”

“The Red Earl is a radical group. They used to kill to grab attention. If they killed now, it would provoke massive outrage.”

“In the end, it’s because the members of Pado Planet’s Parliament are too well-connected.”

The Colonel in charge of this operation was feeling helpless as he viewed the situation in front of him.

Right now, they had limited capabilities and could only use Mechas. Their reinforcements, including Warships, had yet to arrive.

Military installations were inherently powerful, from radar to automatic fire control systems.

“What is that guy even doing? What good will observing the enemy do?” The Colonel couldn’t understand Yang Bo’s actions.

Yang Bo’s Mecha held a small metal panel, carefully observing the military base’s setup.

“Where’s their fire-control radar?” Yang Bo examined the base through the small metal panel.

“This must be using a large array radar.” After thoroughly analyzing the anti-aircraft cannon position, he found no radar facilities around it.

Yang Bo then took a closer look. The military base was rectangular in shape.

Facing him were multiple guard posts, circular structures.

The lower half of these structures had open slits and were equipped with a high-powered anti-aircraft cannon. There wasn’t a single person there.

Thanks to that anti-aircraft cannon, the entire 180-degree area was untouchable.

“I’ll have to try.” A thought popped into Yang Bo’s head.

“Anyway, I still have two respawns left.”

“Or maybe I don’t even need them. They might not be of any use later on.”

“Besides, this isn’t even my account. Whether I revive or not, it’ll just save someone else some money.”

“I should just focus on getting more kills for myself.”

Yang Bo then chose a spot and started digging with the Mecha’s hands.

He quickly excavated a platform about a meter below the surface.

Then, he lay the Mecha on it, testing it out.

“What’s this guy trying to do?”

“Is he out of his mind?”

“Is he actually digging a hole to bury himself?”

“Is this guy insane? Is he planning to tunnel his way there?” Teammates and the people in the military command were puzzled by what they saw.

Yang Bo lay on the platform, adjusted the layout a bit, then lay down again.

In the next moment, Yang Bo’s operation left everyone’s jaws hanging.

Yang Bo’s Mecha lay on the platform, then suddenly tilted on its side.

This exposed one of his shoulders and the barrel of his Laser Cannon, which immediately launched a beam.

“Hit! It’s a hit!” someone shouted excitedly on the public channel.
