Chapter Index

In the third-floor stairwell, the pilots of four mechas let out heart-wrenching screams. Of the dozens of people these mechas were escorting, only a few survived.

Even these few were seriously injured. The mechas’ laser cannons hit other superhumans causing an energy reaction that led to an explosion, which was like a small energy bomb. Moreover, these people were also wearing energy suits.

The energy suits shattered into countless fragments. The key problem was that the enemy’s mecha had retreated again.

Yang Bo had no choice but to fall back. Facing four mechas, continuing to hold his ground would be useless.

Besides, he’d already taken the kills for himself. After Yang Bo retreated, the people hiding on the third floor had barely dared to peek out before Yang Bo’s laser cannon cut them down again.

For a moment, the remaining hiders saw the lasers and didn’t dare to come out.

However, the two mechas on the stairwell across came back.

Seeing that route blocked, just at that moment, the nearby elevator opened.

Yang Bo hurried in. The elevator was empty.

He quickly dropped the fire door and pressed the button to go down, because he guessed that Red Earl’s people would definitely escape underground.

The city had an extensive underground transport network. The powers given by the people in the tower upstairs weren’t good enough. Yang Bo didn’t even check what the abilities were because there wasn’t time.

The elevator swiftly descended. When it opened on the second floor, a group of people scattered, clearly aware via the communication channels that Yang Bo was coming down.

Still, he managed to kill a few with his mecha.

“Not sure how much longer I can hold out,” Yang Bo muttered, looking at his mecha. It was severely damaged, with some parts penetrated by laser fire.

Fortunately, most functions were still operational.

There were five underground levels. Yang Bo went straight to the fifth. When the door opened, many tools were left on the ground, proving people had been here.

“So this is the equipment floor.” After exiting the elevator, Yang Bo could hear people running in the distance, but with just one or two around, he didn’t care anymore.

He saw the large equipment and noticed the layout and labeling of the equipment floor resembled that of a spaceship or warship.

“Trying to run? Without leaving your kills behind?” Yang Bo operated the mecha and headed straight towards the main energy room.

Many of the military leaders were stunned by his bold moves. They became excited as anti-government parliamentary members, 11 in total and core members of the Red Earl, were killed.

“This guy’s clear-headed, not engaging in a mecha battle. He’s avoiding their attacks and using his laser cannon to prioritize killing people.”

“Impressive, this guy alone is more effective than 100 mechas.”

“He’s done a great service. Should we grant him a military rank?”

“No need for that. First, we need to check his background.”

“He seems to know this equipment structure very well. How did he go straight to the main energy room?” The military leaders were discussing Yang Bo’s actions.

In fact, the control room displayed hundreds of battle scenes from all over Pado Planet.

But the military leaders’ focus was solely on Yang Bo.

Hearing their doubts, a subordinate of the Colonel said, “The layout here is similar to that of warships and spaceships.”

    “Oh, that explains it.”

“But that raises even more questions. Did this guy fake his resume?” The generals were filled with doubt, but now wasn’t the time to get into it.

Looking at the silver-white door ahead, Yang Bo was speechless; the main energy room was still protected.

He turned his head, looking at the countless pipes beside him. The mecha approached to examine them closely.

The mecha picked up its weapon and slashed at two of the pipes.

Red lights flashed across the equipment floor, and then all the lights went out.

The military leaders were confused. “What state is this now?” “The mecha destroyed an optical cable line and a vacuum pipe. The vacuum pipe mainly ensures a sealed environment in the control room. Unlike warships, the ground is filled with dust and moisture.”

“The emergency power system is now active.”

Hearing this explanation, the military leaders nodded in understanding.

“It looks like future military bases need to be redesigned.”

“There’s a big security flaw this time.”

“All current military bases need to be renovated.”

“Gather every military base commander and have them watch this battle footage.”

“A mecha infiltrated a military base this easily, proving there’s a huge flaw in our bases.”

“But this must be kept confidential; opposing nations’ bases probably have similar structures.”

Yang Bo roamed around, continually destroying equipment. With his mecha weapon, it was easy.

“What the…?” Yang Bo’s eyes widened at the sign on the door in front of him.

“Ammunition Depot!” He hadn’t expected to find the ammunition depot, and even more surprisingly, the door was open.

The military leaders watching this scene immediately cursed.

The enemy had opened the ammunition depot, making this even more dangerous.

Yang Bo had a crazy plan in his mind. Should he blow the whole military base to the sky?

Entering the ammunition depot, Yang Bo noticed various types of reserves.

Thankfully, the enemy had only transported defense cannons. It seemed they wanted to install these all over the base.

He then saw the mecha-specific Ammunition Depot, which was also open.

“Shockwave Bombs.” Yang Bo immediately recognized his familiar weapon.

He quickly strapped the shockwave bombs to himself, wondering if there were any mini-hydrogen or nuclear bombs around.

    “Should we stop him?”

“If he carries these, won’t it affect the hostages?”

“Should we cut his remote control?” The military leaders were torn watching this.

The colonel spoke up: “Generals, there’s no need. Let’s see what he plans to do. If he misuses the bombs, we’ll cut the control and take over ourselves.”

    “Makes sense.”

“Let’s see what this guy has in mind first.”

“How much ammunition was lost?” asked a general. The others agreed this was a good plan, as they still had control over him.

The colonel reported, “Based on our video analysis, the enemy only transported a few defense cannons. The other ammo hasn’t been shipped yet, partly because we attacked the base too quickly.”

As Yang Bo continued attaching shockwave bombs, he suddenly froze, muttering, “Crap, I forgot this was a special mission. I got too excited seeing bombs. Will the military cut me off?”
