Chapter Index

Yang Bo’s mecha battles mostly took place underground, whether it was in previous mecha games or in real-life PK on Green Demon Planet.

The underground tunnels were pitch dark, but the mecha’s vision had no issue navigating through them.

Yang Bo walked ahead for a bit and noticed some signs. This vacuum tunnel had nothing in it, apart from the metal embedded in the tunnel walls, which emitted magnetic forces to push the equipment used for transporting people.

Meanwhile, good news arrived at the Military—the largest hostage group had been rescued.

The military base had been reclaimed, and none of the weapons inside were leaked.

Though the Red Earl’s forces were numerous, the warship arrived too quickly. In the first wave, drones destroyed more than half of their mechas and killed many of the Red Earl’s people.

The remaining forces hid in public buildings and inside the military base.

The trickiest part was the military base, where over 2,000 hostages were being held, the largest group.

But now, those hostages were safely rescued. They were all high-profile figures like celebrities and politicians captured by the Red Earl, making their influence significant.

As for the others, their influence wasn’t that great. But since the key figures were rescued, this matter was now stable.

The Military had the warship’s AI program take control of Yang Bo’s mecha to escort the hostages to safety.

Then, some personnel were dispatched from the warship and flew in on fighter jets to settle and protect the more than 2,000 hostages.

The Military did an internal review and concluded that the biggest variable was Yang Bo’s mecha. Particularly in saving the hostages and breaking into the military base, Yang Bo played a crucial role.

Without Yang Bo storming the base, they wouldn’t have secured it by now.

If they’d waited for the enemy to install the Defense Cannons in the storage facility, it could have turned into a prolonged battle.

Yang Bo, however, was in the underground passage, but his mind wasn’t focused on the mecha game.

“I’ve made too much of a name for myself. People are bound to notice.”

“I should find a chance to test whether I can hack the network.”

“Should I test it now?” A bold idea formed in Yang Bo’s mind. He wasn’t fully satisfied with the skill given by the Red Earl’s core team.

Besides, these tunnels weren’t short. A thousand kilometers was considered nothing. Where would he even search?

Yang Bo looked at the control device in his hand. The photonic signals were transmitted through this device using spatial quantum transmission technology to reach the mecha.

As he controlled the mecha to walk and jump inside, Yang Bo attentively sensed the changes in the photonic signals on the device.

Gradually, Yang Bo sensed faint electrical fluctuations—this was the command from his control device.

Closely feeling those fluctuations, they were almost minuscule. Compared to the energy within him, this electric current was like the sun compared to a firefly.

Slowly, Yang Bo gained some insight, especially while controlling the mecha in various movements. He could clearly feel the frequency of the weak electrical fluctuations changing.

Yang Bo gripped the control stick tightly, yet the stick didn’t move. He released a faint electric current from his hands, simulating one of the current frequency signals.

In an instant, he sensed that tiny electric pulse passing through his device, instantly transmitting to a city base station, then to an orbital relay station, and finally to another planet’s relay station before penetrating space and reaching underground.

Yang Bo felt as if he’d just taken a quick trip to Pado Planet. It was that fast, like thinking of the planet and, in a split second, being there.

In the virtual screen, the mecha jumped. Yang Bo was so excited he nearly jumped up too.

The experiment succeeded. He could indeed use his own energy to hack into the network.

Of course, this was just the most basic, like finding an IP address, enabling him to know the target’s location.

“But what’s controlled isn’t the same, and the electrical signals are different.”

“The next step is to focus on the electrical signals.” “Seems like my ability to hack isn’t just from Electric Power Control, but also Light Energy Control. Since today’s networks use photonic and quantum signals, which, at their core, are still electrons.” Yang Bo had a moment of clarity.

“I should run more tests. Anyway, this account isn’t mine. Even if I get exposed, it won’t matter.” Yang Bo had lost interest in chasing kills and was now absorbed in refining his new abilities.

Afterward, Yang Bo sensed various electrical signals emitted by his control device and cautiously simulated them.

After running through this underground tunnel for over an hour, Yang Bo hadn’t even tracked the enemy. He’d only been training his abilities.

Now all Yang Bo had to do was touch the control stick. Just by simulating the photonic signals, he could control the mecha to run and jump freely.

“If only I could free up the keyboard next. No matter how fast your hands are, can they keep up with your brain?”

“I could even create my own program using photonic signals and test it on a mecha’s Central AI System.” Yang Bo glanced at the keyboard on his right hand, a photon-sensitive keyboard identical to the ones used in mechas, highly responsive.

Yang Bo spent an hour in the underground tunnels, which made the Military personnel frown, but they said nothing. This guy always seemed unpredictable. Sometimes an ordinary move from him led to unexpected results.

Yang Bo now felt a bit uneasy, like switching from driving a manual car to an automatic. His hand always wanted to move the stick, but there was no need.

“I’d better find time to practice properly. Right now, I need to finish this job first.” Yang Bo decided to focus on completing the game.

“After this test, if the mecha game still allows remote control on Green Demon Planet, I’ll take Robert’s identity, take out a loan, and buy a mecha for Iron Bull. I’ll train him since he’s guarding my base.” Yang Bo muttered to himself, determined to squeeze the value out of Robert’s account—selling houses, cars, taking out loans, whatever it took.

“I also need to figure out who Robert’s superior is. How dare they order an investigation on me? They won’t escape once I find out who they are!” Yang Bo was confident he could uncover Robert’s superior.

Just then, a laser shot over, blaring the screeching alarm in Yang Bo’s mecha.

Yang Bo’s mecha immediately raised its Energy Shield and saw a few mechas in the distance.

“I really have terrible luck.” Yang Bo hadn’t expected to run into them. He didn’t even care where he was walking earlier, fully engrossed in practicing his ability to hack the network.
