Chapter 193: Collision
by xennovelPS: I’ll try to post the remaining two updates earlier. Happy National Day, everyone!
Yang Bo grumbled as he hurriedly retreated with his Energy Shield. There wasn’t even a single cover in this wretched place.
Unbeknownst to him, the people ahead were feeling just as unlucky, as if disaster had fallen on them.
The group ahead had used countless methods to cover their tracks, all to shake off their pursuers. They had successfully ditched dozens of Mecha.
Just as the group was about to execute the next step of their plan, a Mecha suddenly appeared. This Mecha seemed a bit off, walking, then jumping a couple of times, before firing its Jetpack and quickly heading towards them.
The group initially intended to take out Yang Bo’s Mecha in one go but didn’t expect his quick reaction. His fast deployment of the Energy Shield blocked most of the attacks.
Five or six Mecha then aggressively chased after Yang Bo.
Yang Bo barely noticed his hand. It wasn’t even on the control stick; instead, his right hand was busy on the keyboard.
Yang Bo’s Mecha moved like a real person, constantly retreating sideways while using the Energy Shield to block attacks.
Moreover, this wasn’t a simple sidestep; his body leaned in the direction he was running. The Jetpack on his back gave him some extra thrust.
It was as if Yang Bo was running with the wind now. The five or six pursuing Mecha didn’t rush at him all at once because they feared ambush.
After chasing for about three minutes, the five or six Mecha realized that Yang Bo was alone. They all rushed in at once.
When Yang Bo saw the other side activate their Jetpacks, he knew things were bad. He cursed the Military in his heart. They had detected the enemy for so long, yet no reinforcements arrived.
Seeing that he couldn’t outrun the five or six Mecha, Yang Bo steeled himself. His Mecha dropped to the ground, setting the Energy Shield in front and activating the Jetpack to the max.
Yang Bo’s Mecha scraped along the passage floor, sending sparks flying. The pursuing Mecha, seeing this move, hurriedly activated their Jetpacks to float away.
This time Yang Bo’s Mecha didn’t collide with the others. As he passed by the group, the Mecha used its arm to gently push off the ground.
Yang Bo’s Mecha instantly spiraled in the round passage, vanishing from the others’ sight.
“Chase him!” The five or six Mecha, witnessing the scene, had thought of shooting Yang Bo from behind once he passed, but they hadn’t expected him to spin through the passage like that.
Yang Bo barely had time to react to the beeping alarms in his Mecha.
The speed was too fast. Even with the Jetpack off, the Mecha’s inertia remained massive, especially with the tunnel’s smooth walls.
Yang Bo could only try to stabilize his Mecha. Seeing a group of people ahead, he quickly pushed the Mecha’s arm towards the side, preparing to dodge.
But just as Yang Bo dodged the group, they also moved aside. Both sides collided.
It was like walking through a door: one person entering, one exiting, both trying to sidestep but still colliding.
“Idiot!” Yang Bo’s Mecha instantly lost control.
Yang Bo’s Mecha rolled uncontrollably, and Yang Bo just closed his eyes in resignation.
Gene Mastery +32!
Forging +32!
Art +32!
A bunch of skill notifications appeared, but these three stood out.
“Three A-grade skills?” Yang Bo’s Mecha tumbled rapidly, and he was quite shocked.
Meanwhile, the Military’s bigwigs had been watching Yang Bo’s strange movements for over an hour. To their surprise, Yang Bo had actually figured it out, and reinforcements were on the way.
Initially, they thought Yang Bo would surely lose to the five or six Mecha chasing him. Who could’ve guessed he’d manage to escape?
Not to mention, within the underground vacuum tunnel, Yang Bo’s Mecha spiraled out of control, with its speed growing faster. As Yang Bo shut off the Jetpack and his speed slowed, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, but then a group of people suddenly appeared.
Just when it seemed like Yang Bo would crash into the other group, he managed to avoid them. But someone still threw themselves into his path.
“How fast was his Mecha earlier?” A Military officer asked, looking at the image of individuals shattered by the impact, shown on a single screen.
“Nine Mach, not just because of the Jetpack but also due to the smooth walls of the underground tunnel, and the Mecha’s spiral acceleration,” the Colonel directly pulled up the Mecha’s data.
“The unmanned Mecha weighed approximately 120 tons.”
“A 120-ton Mecha moving at nine Mach, no wonder those advanced Gene Evolutionists were shattered on impact.” The Military bigwigs silently did the math in their heads.
Yang Bo’s Mecha sustained serious damage as well. After tumbling for a while, its parts scattered everywhere, and then the screen went black. It was thanks to the Energy Shield blocking some of the impact, or else the Mecha would’ve been destroyed upon collision.
“Seriously?” Yang Bo stared at the black virtual screen.
“Three first-class targets? Could they be core members of the Red Earl? Based on these skills, one’s an artist, and the other’s a potions expert. No wonder the Red Earl has grown so large—having a top-tier Potion Master would make earning money easy. Beyond just profits, it brings huge influence.”
“And then there’s a Forging master. Did I just crash into the Red Earl’s senior members?” Yang Bo looked at the virtual screen, which prompted whether he wanted to respawn.
Yang Bo decided not to respawn. He realized that throughout the entire sequence, his left hand hadn’t even touched the control stick. He had been controlling everything using his energy to simulate electro-optical signals.
“I’m really something else!” Yang Bo thought to himself, feeling proud. Mastering electro-optic control would open up so many more possibilities, especially for these types of auxiliary abilities.
Yang Bo shut down the Mecha game, sat there thinking for a while, and then sent an email to the association he belonged to. He asked if there were any upcoming activities.
“Are emails stored on the server?” Yang Bo soon felt a little disappointed because the signal was stuck on the planet’s server.
Keeping his senses focused, within five minutes, Yang Bo detected another signal. He opened the email.
He immediately locked on to the sender and realized they were in the same city, only about 2,000 meters away.
“I wonder what kind of method Robert’s superior uses to check emails? Could he keep at it like this forever?”
“That’s unlikely. The other side must be monitoring emails at all times. After all, the Grey Ash Organization has suffered a major loss this time.” Yang Bo remained indecisive.
