Chapter Index

A few hours later, Yang Bo checked again and confirmed that nothing was left behind. He had thought there might be biological chips or something, although they were officially said to be made of biological material, which could be absorbed by the brain.

However, that’s just the official claim. Yang Bo wasn’t willing to take that gamble.

As for Robert’s other belongings, they had been melted by the electric current and dumped into his own waste recycling system.

“This time yielded quite a lot. Not only did I earn plenty of skill points, but I also gave Iron Bull a few advanced mechas.” After more than two days near Robert, the gains were substantial.

Yang Bo carefully reviewed his skill list, realizing that Gene Mastery had seen the biggest improvement, now reaching master level.

“Are there really so many potion makers in the Red Earl?” Yang Bo still didn’t know that the Red Earl organization had absorbed members of the Four Seas Pharmaceutical Company on Pado Planet.

Additionally, Mecha Piloting and Mecha Repair had merged into a single skill, becoming Mecha Mastery, which was also at master level.

Moreover, he had also picked up some miscellaneous skills like artistic brewing.

“Let’s take a break first, then go check on my territory and see Iron Bull,” Yang Bo planned to rest for a while before deciding what to do next.

These past few days had been extremely busy. First, he had to clean up matters related to Robert, as Yang Bo felt that the game account he controlled had performed so well that it was certain to attract the military’s attention.

After buying some good stuff, he had made a batch of those poisonous mushrooms himself. Everyone had a limit on how much they could buy, only once a week, and each batch came pre-processed.

“I wonder if these poisonous mushrooms count as animals or plants? Could they give me abilities?” Yang Bo muttered to himself.

Once he finished eating, he rested peacefully at home.

The military reacted quickly, immediately investigating all of Robert’s details. Robert’s performance had been too outstanding this time.

However, the deeper they looked, the more the military felt something was off. Why would Robert, who had never been involved in the spaceship industry, be so familiar with the usage of these game items?

Upon further investigation, they found something unusual in Robert’s identity, which had been altered in the past.

As the military discovered more inconsistencies, they sent personnel to Robert’s location for investigation.

When military personnel arrived at Robert’s yacht with a special operations notice from the judicial department, they found that Robert was no longer there, and that a hatch had been opened under the yacht.

When the military personnel entered Robert’s villa, they found even more anomalies. The place was equipped with all kinds of surveillance systems and something similar to a panic room.

Although Yang Bo had deleted the emails, the military was still able to recover them. Many suspicious clues remained.

However, the Grey Ash Organization’s cipher remained unsolved, and Robert had disappeared. The last location tracked by his wristwatch was near the yacht.

And just like that, a living person simply vanished?

Yang Bo woke up, went to the roof, and looked into the distance. He noticed people approaching Robert’s yacht and chuckled to himself.

Holding a drink, he enjoyed the breeze on the rooftop for a while before heading down to wash up and eat.

He opened his computer and saw that the Fat Boss had sent him an email, setting up a meeting at the company in three days because the Fat Boss had purchased new potions.

Yang Bo replied, then quickly checked the news.

The headline read that the military had launched a special operation, hitting the rebel group on Pado Planet hard and rescuing over 3,000 hostages.

Many hostages were interviewed, all describing the brutality of the extremist organization, praising the military’s swift action and expressing gratitude.

Of course, the military also admitted that some people died during the operation, releasing the casualty numbers.

They also revealed the atrocities committed by the Extremist Organization, who had killed many citizens for voting against independence.

The military additionally acknowledged that a few civilians had been accidentally killed during the rescue, but this figure was very low compared to the videos showing the extremists executing citizens, especially those taken away for not voting for independence.

Those videos were repeatedly broadcasted by various media outlets, stirring public outrage against the Extremist Organization.

“Looks like everything’s settled. But I suspect a number of Red Earl members are still lurking.” After watching for a while, Yang Bo felt a sense of satisfaction, knowing he had contributed to the victory. Though he had made quite a profit, this was a win-win.

Yang Bo logged into the mecha game, but this time he chose a Generation 9 mecha, quietly entering the underground world and heading toward Iron Bull.

When he arrived at his territory, there was a flash of gold. Yang Bo quickly shouted, “Iron Bull!”

The golden-armored Iron Bull stood alert, watching the invading mecha. Upon hearing Yang Bo’s voice, he shook his head twice, then stared at Yang Bo’s mecha.

“Iron Bull, it’s me!” Yang Bo called again. Iron Bull listened carefully this time and, recognizing him, rushed over, circling Yang Bo’s mecha.

Once in his territory, Yang Bo received a message stating that violence was not permitted in this neutral area, and that players had to leave quickly to avoid unnecessary conflict. Satisfied, Yang Bo nodded.

The rhinos in the territory were still a bit wary of the unfamiliar mecha.

Iron Bull’s brother came over as well. Yang Bo called out, and Iron Bull’s brother shook his head happily.

Iron Bull then led Yang Bo to a cave where he saw the mecha he had sent.

Yang Bo noticed the mecha fragments remained untouched, which made him grow even fonder of Iron Bull. He had them fed to Iron Bull’s clan.

Yang Bo then quietly snuck back to the surface, observing the many trident cows on his territory, nodding in satisfaction.

He left quickly because his mecha was constantly warning him that this was a neutral area and he should leave as soon as possible.

Yang Bo didn’t want to attract the game officials’ attention, especially given his unique circumstances.

He returned through the underground passage. This time, unlike before, he saw many mutants who no longer avoided the Alliance’s mechas, but instead watched curiously from the sidelines.

However, no communication could occur between the two sides. The game officials had long tampered with the mechas and back-end systems.

Last time Yang Bo had tried to explore during the virtual game, he had run into roadblocks everywhere. He knew then that the game’s backend was messing with him.

“First, I’ll head to the Fat Boss to complete the potion preparations, then I’ll go to the inland areas to catch a wife for the Invisible Mouse. If there’s still time, I’ll head to the western continent to find out who Robert’s superiors were.”

“I also need to set up a small local network in my basement to train my cyber abilities. I wonder if accessing data from intelligent devices will trigger a response from the intelligent system.” Logging out of the game, Yang Bo went outside to the lawn, where he saw Robert’s yacht being towed away, deep in thought.
