Chapter Index

    “Dynamic Vision +1!”

    “Dynamic Vision +1!”

    Thermal Imaging Vision +1!

    Flight +1!

    …….

A stream of information flashed through Yang Bo’s mind, but he couldn’t feel happy. After thinking about it calmly.

Yang Bo found it odd. He had scanned the area with radar. There shouldn’t be any of his own people around here, right? As for whether this could be an enemy target, Yang Bo didn’t think so. This was right next to the base, atop the high mountains, where high-energy ray emitters, laser cannons, and particle beam weapons were stationed. Was the enemy crazy to attack here? Moreover, the base’s detection system could scan everything on and even a thousand meters below the ground.

While Yang Bo was worrying, a message suddenly appeared in his mind.

    Invisibility +16!

“Uh… was that shadow an enemy classified as a B-level target?” Yang Bo was shocked, but he quickly figured it out.

    “Invisibility?”

Yang Bo mentally focused on the skill and found that, indeed, he now had Invisibility: Intermediate (16/100).

Yang Bo quickly opened the game. The screen loaded…

Meanwhile, on a distant planet in the vast starry sky, the people at Base 16 were stunned. They had just seen a mecha mowing down grass and then burning it? In the next second, the base’s defense system had activated instantly. Laser cannons and high-energy particle weapons were engaged.

    “Warning! Warning! High-threat target detected.”

    “Defense systems activated.”

“Eliminate the target!” The piercing sound of alarms filled the base for less than a second, then silence fell.

Only now did the base’s management react.

They calmly issued orders, and soon, the wreckage hit by the laser cannons was retrieved.

Yang Bo could see the game screen again, but it was still black, showing that the mecha had been damaged.

Yang Bo checked the battle replay and carefully observed that the figure rushing out from the fire was a humanoid mecha, though its material seemed rather unusual.

His mecha’s blade had pierced the enemy mecha, followed by a blinding light.

That’s right. Yang Bo’s mecha had been blown up by the base’s defense system.

“Dear Sir, since you’ve identified a B-level infiltrator, we will replace your Razor Mecha for free. Enjoy the game.” Yang Bo was dismissed with just those words.

Yang Bo wanted to ask more questions but didn’t know where to start. Since they called it a game, then it was a game.

The game screen returned to his mecha. Yang Bo opened his inventory and found 500,000 gold coins, equivalent to 500,000 credits.

His inbox had three mails. The first was a warning about starting fires and damaging the natural environment, warning of severe penalties for repeat offenses.

The second was an apology for the base defense system destroying his mecha. The company apologized and offered customer support for any issues he might have.

The third was a reward for identifying a B-level infiltrator, 500,000 gold coins as compensation.

Yang Bo carefully reviewed the battle replay. He hadn’t killed the target. His mecha’s blade had merely injured the enemy first. The enemy was then destroyed by the laser cannon.

“Looks like as long as I do the first damage, I can still get the reward.” Yang Bo didn’t immediately contact customer support, as he wasn’t sure what he needed yet.

Besides, the fire had already been extinguished. Yang Bo wanted to check out his rewards, so he mentally called forth his skills.

Swimming: Advanced (125/1000) Flight: Master (1402/10000) Camouflage: Beginner (4/10) Sonic Location: Intermediate (18/100)

    Dynamic Vision: Master (4032/10000)

    Thermal Imaging Vision: Advanced (203/1000)

Electric Power Control: Intermediate (12/100) Light Energy Control: Beginner (4/10)

    Mecha Piloting: Beginner (8/10)

    Invisibility: Intermediate (16/100)

Yang Bo felt incredibly hungry, and his body felt tight. He got up and stretched, his joints cracking audibly. In the bathroom, he removed his shirt, revealing his perfectly sculpted physique, exuding raw power.

He recharged while gulping down some milk.

“My body has evolved.” Yang Bo glanced at the energy consumption. He’d used up 35% already. How much was he recharging after work?

“Two master-level skills. I wonder how they’ll affect me?”

“Now that I have money in the game, I’m not short of cash for the moment.”

“What’s next in the game? And how should I develop my skills?”

“I should focus on support skills. In a world with such advanced technology, no matter how strong, one can’t rival a spaceborne laser cannon.”

“What kind of benefits should I ask the game company for? Though I know this isn’t really just a game.”

Wearing his pajamas, Yang Bo went to the window. Looking up at the colossal Skyport illuminated under the star’s light, it was always so dazzling. It wasn’t just a beautiful sight, but a deadly one, armed with weapons capable of destroying an entire city with ease.

His mind raced with questions. With such advanced technology, why did they need mechas to deal with the threats inside the game? Why not just strike from space?

Who is behind the development of this game? The military? And what’s their objective? Gene Serum materials? Or something else?

So many questions filled Yang Bo’s mind. Even though the world around him seemed so beautiful, beneath this beauty hid an abyss of endless mystery.

“Strength comes first. No rush to buy a house yet.” Just a moment ago, Yang Bo had the impulse to convert his game credit into a home purchase.

With a clear goal now, Yang Bo acted immediately. Opening the game interface, he contacted customer support.

“Support?” Yang Bo directly initiated contact in the game.

“Dear player, how can I assist you?” The voice of the customer support agent was mechanical.

“The base’s laser cannon hit me, causing great mental distress. I demand compensation for emotional damage.” Yang Bo decided to bluff his way forward.

“Apologies, player. Upon entering the game, you were informed that Mecha World offers a high degree of freedom. Players must face various possible events. We regret any harm this caused,” the support responded quickly.

Yang Bo was speechless. The message was clear: Play if you like, or leave!

“Then I request the animal distribution map within the base’s radiation zone.” Yang Bo wasn’t embarrassed, posing his next question swiftly.

“That’s possible. However, given your level, we can only provide the location of D-level creatures.” The support agent agreed immediately.

Yang Bo, surprised by the quick response, thought, “This support must be human and quite high-level. Otherwise, they wouldn’t agree so easily.”

“I also need a list of common animals, even small ones.”

“That can be arranged, but keep in mind that animals move around. The data we provide will only reflect the current time.”

“That’s fine.” Yang Bo didn’t want to waste time using radar to search. The mecha’s radar range wasn’t that large.

Opening the map in his inbox, Yang Bo quickly found what he was looking for: electric eels, 280 kilometers away from the base in a lake on the plains.

“Let’s see if there are any bombs for sale.” Yang Bo examined the lake’s data attentively. His mecha could fight underwater, but was he the type to go about it honestly? ”Or maybe I should create some potent poison? If setting fires is allowed, why not poisoning? Although I was warned for starting the fire earlier, the rewards were substantial. After all, the game company didn’t explicitly forbid it.”
