Chapter Index

The Fat Boss’s legs were trembling. Moments ago, he rushed in and felt that the person in the battle armor looked familiar. It didn’t hit him at first, but now, thinking back, his legs were shaking, and he nearly dropped the laser gun in his hand. He almmost turned around and ran.

Yang Bo’s battle armor was exactly the same as the pirate leader’s. Even his voice was identical.

Listening to Yang Bo’s voice now, the Fat Boss tried to remain calm. He remembered seeing this pirate leader standing behind the Chief Magistrate of March Planet, locked in a battle of wits.

“This is none of your business!” The Fat Boss tried to muster some courage as he spoke, fearful the pirate leader might use his energy weapon against him.

The energy weapon was also identical. The Fat Boss now regretted coming inside. If he’d known, he would’ve stayed on lookout and let someone else come in.

Yang Bo hadn’t noticed this yet. He didn’t realize the Fat Boss had seen the pirate leader’s battle armor.

“Many more people will arrive. The Bounty Hunter Guild’s warships are already here,” Yang Bo suggested they steal one of the ships to move forward.

“We have our own plans,” the Fat Boss said, hoping Yang Bo would leave quickly.

The Fat Boss was certain: the man in front of him had at least A-rank Gene Evolution skills, possibly even A+.

“Alright then, what are you here to take?” Yang Bo asked, preparing to leave after hearing the Fat Boss’s words.

“I’m here to get some batteries for the laser guns,” the Fat Boss pointed at the box of laser guns.

“I’ll be going then,” Yang Bo said over the communicator, then shot away.

As soon as Yang Bo left, his entire body sped off like a rocket, soaring off in another direction.

The Fat Boss watched the pirate leader depart from the warship, quickly finding a place to sit down. Even with superpowers and wearing battle armor, his legs were still shaking.

After waiting a minute, the Fat Boss gathered up the laser gun batteries, packed tthem, and hurried out.

“Boss, who was that? Why didn’t we detain him?” Wu Bing asked, curious, as he and Zhou Zheng removed their mechas and slipped into their energy suits.

The Fat Boss snapped back, not pleased: “Are you mad? That guy’s an A+ Gene Evolution expert. Next time, stay far away if you see him.”

“Boss, are you sure you recognized him? How would you know someone like that?” Zhou Zheng asked skeptically over the communicator.

“He’s not only ruthless but also calculating. Remember back then…” The Fat Boss recounted the pirate leader’s story on the channel.

Wu Bing and the others gasped after hearing it: “Boss, shouldn’t we find a spaceship or a warship and leave?”

“Don’t worry. I’m in the armor. He didn’t recognize my face,” the Fat Boss reassured them.

“So now what?” Zhou Zheng asked, just as concerned now that such a powerful figure had arrived.

The Fat Boss sighed, frustrated: “I do want to leave, but how? The spaceship’s been destroyed.”

The Fat Boss wanted to flee with his bucket but realized that only a spaceship or warship could get him out of here.

“Why don’t we follow him and see what happens?”

“Maybe we can follow his lead and leave this godforsaken place. Boss, can you be more careful with future missions?” Zhou Zheng nodded in agreement.

“Who knows what’s going on with Yang Bo in the mine?” The Fat Boss was growing increasingly irritable. He regretted bringing Yang Bo along. If something happened to Yang Bo down there, he’d blame himself.

“I need to investigate if someone’s setting me up,” the Fat Boss realized this whole mission felt like a trap. The situation was more complicated than he expected, especially now that an A-rank Gene Evolution expert had shown up.

“Let’s go take a look. Since we know his background, maybe we can come up with countermeasures.” The Fat Boss was determined. Clearly, they were the weakest ones left, and even bounty hunters had shown up with their warships. That meant there were at least two mother ships in space.

Of course, those mother ships couldn’t compare to military ones that could carry tens of thousands of warships.

Meanwhile, Yang Bo swiftly flew over to the Bounty Hunter Guild’s warship.

The people inside the warship heard the alarms blaring, but before they could react, a figure in battle armor stood in front of the cockpit.

There were two glass panels at the head of the ship, designed to maintain visibility in case the warship’s intelligent system or video system was damaged. The pilots could still see outside through those panels.

Now, Yang Bo was standing right in front of those glass panels, leaving the pilots dumbfounded.

The warship alarms had been blaring constantly, but from the time they started to when Yang Bo appeared, the pilots hadn’t reacted at all. Even the warship’s defense systems failed to respond in time.

“Who is this guy?” Two pilots stared at each other in disbelief. The warship’s defense radius was set to two kilometers. Anyone who got that close should’ve triggered an automatic laser cannon defense response.

But this person gave the system no chance to react. The sensors showed that his speed had reached Mach 12.

Yang Bo couldn’t see the people inside, but he knew they could see him.

He pulled out his energy weapon, which emitted a blinding light.

Then, with the weapon in hand, he sliced a shallow cut on the surface of the warship and pointed towards its distant hatch.

“Captain, what now?” The second pilot, trembling, asked through tears, staring at the cuts on the warship’s surface.

The captain was at a loss. He knew the man outside was strong and that his weapon could easily cut through the warship’s defenses.

“I… I don’t know. Why are we so unlucky? First, we ran into that freak in the desert, and now this. How are there so many A-rank Gene Evolution experts?” The captain’s voice shook.

Seeing the man about to attack the glass, the captain turned to the three people inside: “What do we do?”

Two of them were already trembling. The enemy had carved a cut into the warship’s surface with a single, casual slash. Such a feat was unheard of.

“You’re the captain! You decide!” The three of them yelled in unison.

At that moment, a laser shot out from a distance.

The crew quickly checked the monitors and saw someone several kilometers away, firing a laser gun at them from the caanyon.

“Those bastards!” The captain recognized the attackers and prepared to fire the laser cannon back at the ones who had told him to scram earlier.

Before he could, the figure standing in front of the ship vanished.

The captain scrambled to control the ship’s systems, trying to lock onto the figure with the cameras and radars.

But the radar couldn’t lock onto him.

“Mach 14!” The captain muttered as he tracked Yang Bo’s incredible speed.

“A humanoid mecha!” The second pilot gasped, watching Yang Bo’s moves in awe.

Seven or eight people with laser weapons stood far away. Twoen held laser cannons.

Their laser weapons fired at the figureut not a single shot landed.

Instead, the moment the figure neared them, all seven or eight of them were blasted away.

    “That’s insane!” The captain exclaimed.

“A+ class,” muttered the Fat Boss.

The captain immediately replayed the footage. This time, it was clear.

The figure skimmed the ground while a torrent of stones gathered behind him.

    Over 100 rocks in total.

Some were the size of a football, others a fist. From their coloring, it was clear they were extremely hard, full of metal.

The stones followed him unnaturally, moving at Mach 14, accompanying him as he approached the enemies. Then, in the blink of an eye, all 100 rocks struck.

In that final moment, the rocks even moved faster than the figure himself.

As for how the captain and crew could track Yang Bo’s speed, it was thanks to the radar data.

All seven or eight opponents were shooting at Yang Bo one second, only to be pummeled by countless stones the next.

The opponents whose Energy Suit dimmed after the first hit fared better. But those whose armor didn’t dim were repeatedly pummeled. The strongest of them even had his armor shattered.

“Is that it?” Yang Bo muttered, looking at the unconscious bodies. These people seemed far too weak.

While flying, Yang Bo had used his Superpower, manipulating gravity and antigravity to gather the stones.

With a thought, he applied antigravity to the eight people and continued flying.

“Should we fire?” The second pilot asked, locking Yang Bo on the radar.

“Fire? Are you crazy?!” Before the captain could respond, someone watching slapped the second pilot.

“You idiot! Do you want to get us killed?” Even the captain slapped him after.

Behind Yang Bo, eight armored bodies floated, and he tossed them into the open warship hatch.

The captain quickly closed the doors, sucked out the poisonous air within, pumped in oxygen, and reopened the hatch.

“Sir!” The captain rushed to greet Yang Bo with a respectful bow.

“Pardon the trouble. These people—deal with them,” Yang Bo gestured toward the eight unconscious ones he’d knocked out with stones.

“No trouble at all, sir!” The captain and his four crewmates exhaled with relief at Yang Bo’s courteous tone.

The four of them quickly went to deal with the eight, stripping off their now-useless armor. Though they had been retrieved in time, had they stayed out any longer, they might’ve died. After all, the outside was not fit for human life.

“Anything else we can do for you, sir?” the captain asked respectfully after Yang Bo took a seat.

“Let’s wait for your president to return before talking,” Yang Bo said after sitting down.

Suddenly, the ship’s internal alarms blared.

The captain rushed forward and saw four more people approaching.

“Their warship was destroyed by those people—maybe they even have their hostages,” Yang Bo stood up and explained.

The captain immediately understood and called over the public channel: “Come on in!”

The Fat Boss and the others boarded the warship, now looking at Yang Bo in fear. They had been closer to where he performed his feats and watched him effortlessly fly over with a swarm of rocks, taking down all eight enemies in one sweep.

Looking at those unlucky eight now, some of their battle armor shattered. It became clear the stone barrage was more powerful than even laser guns, comparable to a personal laser cannon.

After talking with the captain, Yang Bo learned the Fat Boss didn’t have the hostages. The crew from the first warship shot down had gone into the mine.

Now the warship was a bit cramped, but Yang Bo’s seat still had plenty of space around it.

Meanwhile, the eight unlucky ones had their battle armor stripped off, were fitted with superhuman-restraining collars, tied up, and tossed aside.

“Should I join the Bounty Hunter Guild? I know too little about this world,” Yang Bo mused.

The Bounty Hunter Guild wasn’t legal within the Alliance, and that suited Yang Bo just fine. Precisely because they were illegal, they’d have a lot more intel on the Alliance.

He figured the Alliance wouldn’t have much dirt on themselves. No matter how high his clearance, he’d never have access to those records.

The Bounty Hunter Guild, however, was different. Based somewhere outside, being an illegal organization, they probably had plenty of information.

“The Bounty Hunter Guild must have something similar to Fat’s company’s internal system, where you exchange points for items.” An Zhijie Corporation’s internal points could be exchanged for a lot, one point equivalent to one credit earned on a mission.

Earlier on, Yang Bo had used this system to unlock the Electric Power Control skill. That was during his remote control and work task training.

The ship’s alarms suddenly blared again. Three warships appeared in the sky.

“Those aren’t our ships!” the captain shouted as the alarms went off.

The three ships quickly converged, two flying from opposite ends of the canyon and one from above.

Because of the terrain, Yang Bo’s warship had no time to respond.

The next moment, the warship was locked onto by the three enemy vessels. A voice echoed through the public channel: “Anyone inside had better stay still, or we’ll fire!”

Everyone inside Yang Bo’s warship turned to face him.

I’ll try to hurry up with the second update. Apologies.
