Chapter Index

These people finally realized that the Bounty Hunter Guild retreated not because they were defeated, but because it was all a trap.

Someone screamed, but no one else in the channel said a word because the big guy who had chased them earlier was now back, holding three people in energy suits. However, these three suits were dim.

Yang Bo’s tactics were simple. You all have laser guns? I just charged right into your group.

Laser guns have intelligent design and won’t fire when aimed at their own. So Yang Bo flew with anti-gravity into the midst of a dozen people, then used high-speed anti-gravity and energy weapons to slaughter them.

Yang Bo only needed to wield energy weapons. He didn’t even need to move. He just had to use anti-gravity to manipulate his body, dashing left, right, forward, and backward in rapid straight movements.

With high-speed movements, the energy weapon directly slashed through the enemy’s armor.

Killing a few to intimidate the others was a must. While the three who tried to flee were fast, they couldn’t compare to Yang Bo’s anti-gravity powers.

Using anti-gravity, Yang Bo’s entire body charged forward like a bullet.

The three runners were like billiard balls in a row. When hit, they flew away and then fainted.

The charging skill has a certain chance of knocking out the targets.

There were still over 100 enemies left, all holding laser guns. Faced with Yang Bo, not a single one dared to fire.

The members of the Bounty Hunter Guild were stunned. The President of the Guild felt his heart surge and almost wanted to give Yang Bo a hug—he was simply too powerful.

So, the remaining 100 or so were captured. As for those who were killed, the Bounty Hunter Guild was used to it by now. When doing missions like this, killing a few was expected. In life-and-death scenarios, if you don’t kill some of them, they’ll never surrender quickly.

You could even say that the deceased bought the lives of those remaining.

    “Too strong!”

“He’s probably at least A+ level.”

“Look at this guy, hit by a rock. His armor didn’t even break, but he’s already unconscious.”

“That rock flew at least Mach 4. A gravity-based hit like that, even if the armor blocked it, would deal massive internal damage.”

“You didn’t see the energy glow on him, did you? The guy was like a giant shining lightbulb.”

“His energy suit must be one of those same-source models, way too strong!”

“These 200 surviving anti-government soldiers must be worth millions.”

“Who knows? If there’s someone with key intel among them, we could be talking a billion.”

“With someone like him in the guild, we won’t have to worry about growth in the future.”

The members of the Bounty Hunter Guild were rounding up the captives, including the ones knocked out by the rocks.

When those people woke up, they were still in a bit of a daze because, after just a brief encounter, they were already knocked out.

Plus, they were injured. Having football-sized rocks slammed into their armor at Mach 4 speed, the physical attack force was incredibly high.

“Sir.” The President of the Bounty Hunter Guild looked at Yang Bo with a changed voice.

Hearing this, Yang Bo felt a surge through his body. The President, although physically changed, still spoke with a tone that sounded like a woman.

“Don’t bother me unless it’s important!” Yang Bo quickly waved them off and ran to the side.

“Those dozen people only gave combat skills!” Yang Bo went to the side, feeling a little frustrated. These dozen people only provided combat skills, and most were at C level, with a few at D level. There were no B-level super Gene Evolutionists.

“Looks like this batch was just cannon fodder?” Yang Bo was puzzled. Why did these guys only provide combat skills? “Could it have something to do with how Anti-Government Fighters evolve?”

Yang Bo moved to the corpses of the dozen or so enemies. Their helmets had already been removed, and the Bounty Hunter Guild members were taking photos and collecting biological samples.

Yang Bo touched one of their heads and confirmed his suspicions.

“I thought as much. These anti-government soldiers don’t have biological chips in their brains, and that’s exactly the case.”

“These Gene Evolutionists from the Anti-Government Fighters probably gain their powers through secret techniques or ancient martial arts.”

Having verified his theory, Yang Bo moved to the exit of the crevice, where two warplanes and a dozen mechas waited.

“Sir!” The President approached as Yang Bo spoke into the communication channel.

“Call me Zhang San. My codename in the guild is Zhang San,” Yang Bo said, feeling that the title ‘Sir’ sounded a bit off.

“Zhang San? Should I call you Third Master?” The President felt a bit speechless at the random codename, but respectfully obliged.

Yang Bo nodded, and the President continued, “Third Master, this time you’ve made an incredible contribution. The reward from this mission is estimated to be over 10 million credits, plus over 20 million guild points. Additionally, there will be rewards from the Alliance as well.”

The President now wanted to cling to Yang Bo’s leg. Yang Bo had taken on 200 armed men with laser guns by himself and captured over 190 of them, leaving only 20 dead—all in under five seconds.

That’s the power of an A-level Gene Evolutionist. The gap widens the further they progress. You could say that Gene Evolutionists of the same combat profession, with the same equipment, an A-level Evolutionist could easily crush 100 B-level Evolutionists.

An A-level Gene Evolutionist’s energy is dozens of times greater than that of a B-level Evolutionist.

Their body strength is also much higher, and their nerve reflexes and speed make their overall ability absolutely overwhelming.

“What good stuff does your guild have?” Yang Bo felt indifferent. What’s a few million credits? The energy stones he’d collected were worth far more.

The President heard Yang Bo’s casual tone and became more convinced that Yang Bo was the leader of the Pirates. Ten million credits were a massive fortune in the Alliance.

However, upon reflection, it made sense. In human society, almost all A-level Gene Evolutionists were either wealthy or powerful.

“Our guild has many valuable items, but some cannot be discussed openly. After this mission, you’ll advance to the highest membership level.”

“The Bounty Hunter Guild uses a points system. ABCDEFG levels range from G, with just 10 points, to A, which requires 10 million points.”

“But few know that above A-level is S-level, which requires at least 20 million points.”

“S-level members have many privileges. Inside the guild, there’s even a special auction for top-tier members. I’m sure Third Master will like it,” the President explained.

    “What kind of good stuff?”

“Mechas, spaceships, warplanes, and even women with slave chips! Some noble women from the Azure Blue Empire, with superb genetics. Their offspring have a high probability of being super Gene Evolutionists.”

“What about ancient martial arts or secret techniques?” Yang Bo decided to mislead the President.

Yang Bo had no intention of practicing ancient martial arts. With his current weak physique, he knew he wouldn’t get much out of it. Instead, he’d focus on farming skills.

What Yang Bo wanted most was for the Bounty Hunter Guild to have some strange, mutated beasts, preferably in large numbers.

He needed quantity because if there weren’t enough, farming skills wouldn’t be possible.

Hearing this, the President eagerly replied over the comm channel, “Of course, we have many items like that in the guild.”

“Good. What’s the next move?” Yang Bo nodded and asked.

“We were probably set up by the Alliance. Next, I plan to find that Fatty to resolve our identity problem. But Third Master, your armor is far too conspicuous,” The President said, somewhat frustrated.

The guild was illegal in the Alliance. The fact that they had set up a trap to lure Anti-Government Fighters’ warships was clearly orchestrated by the Alliance’s official channels. No one else had that capability.

“I can’t help that,” Yang Bo replied simply.

At that same moment, the Anti-Government Fighters realized something was wrong. Why hadn’t they heard back from the 200 plus armed soldiers they sent?

The communication conditions here weren’t great. Where there were energy stone mines, rock formations would cause interference. So, they decided to send in small drones for signal relay and to scout.

“Third Master, it looks like the enemy is preparing for a second wave of attacks. What should we do next?” the President asked after seeing the drones fly from the warplanes.

“Keep retreating. Fall back to the third defense line. Make all the captives kneel there—let the enemy negotiate with you. I’m sure they’ll send someone in. You should all try to make yourselves look as pathetic as possible,” Yang Bo suggested.

“Understood!” The President hurriedly fell back.

The Anti-Government Fighters had just made a breakthrough but now received no further information. A dozen drones formed a line and swiftly entered the mountain crevice.

The commander observed the crevice’s battle traces. After five minutes, he saw a scene that filled him with rage.

In a battle zone, a dozen of his subordinates had their helmets placed beside them, while the rest, nearly 200 people, were kneeling. From the armor, it was obvious these were their own men.

The helmetless ones were clearly dead, while the rest of the enemy held a defensible position. There were only a few dozen of them.

The enemy was even shouting loudly for negotiation and demanding warplanes and small spaceships.

“These idiots think we’re the Alliance police? Demanding warplanes and spaceships!” sneered the commander aboard the warship at the sight.

“Damn, Special Forces, move out! Kill all the enemies!” the commander roared at the battlefield in chaos, still unable to fathom how so many of his people were captured.

    Second update at noon.
