Chapter Index

“Of course! Of course!” The commander of the third-party forces didn’t dare refuse and quickly responded. The public channel fell silent.

“Who’s that bastard acting so arrogant?” A voice suddenly sounded in the public channel.

Yang Bo snorted and waved his hand. Hundreds of rocks of varying sizes floated around him.

    Then Yang Bo instantly disappeared.

“Four Mach!” The third-party commander, seeing Yang Bo’s speed, gasped. In such a confined space, that speed meant something serious.

Moreover, the armor had to withstand that velocity, and his energy would need to support the drain from such high-speed movement.

“Move!” The third-party commander issued the order, and his team quickly charged toward the passage.

The third-party personnel and the Anti-Government Fighters were separated by a 100-meter-long passage. This passage had collapsed earlier, gnawed out by mutant crawlers.

The leading third-party members shielded themselves with energy shields, bracing for the Anti-Government Fighters’ attack.

The armor on the third-party personnel glowed, and others behind them pushed their laser guns’ power to maximum.

However, when the third-party members emerged from the 100-meter passage, they were stunned.

They found themselves in a 50-meter-long cavern. The top was a solid rock layer, so it hadn’t collapsed. Only the ends had fallen, with rocks piling up toward the center.

Everyone who witnessed the scene gasped. The whole space felt utterly brutal.

The modified humans had been slammed into the stone walls by some immense force, their bodies deeply embedded as if they were specimens in a frame.

Without exception, the modified humans’ heads were smashed open. Bright red blood oozed out, flowing along their bodies.

The micro-mechas the modified humans carried were scattered in pieces, as if crushed by a gigantic force.

The dozens of third-party personnel were left speechless. The communication channel was dead silent.

“Is this the power of an A-Rank Gene Strengthener?” Someone asked weakly in the channel.

The third-party commander’s tone grew heavy. “Even among A-Rank Gene Strengtheners, there are differences in power.”

“Just like E-Rank Gene Evolvers have a range, the difference between the weakest and strongest E-Rank Gene Strengtheners is at least tenfold. This guy is the strongest I’ve seen, and his superpower… is very mysterious.”

“Collect the spoils. Finish off all the modified humans.” The third-party commander looked at his frightened men and quickly gave the order.

The commander finally understood how Yang Bo dared to rob a warplane alone.

In the time between Yang Bo’s charge and their rush forward, only two seconds had passed.

The modified humans, who had just pushed them back, were now hanging on the stone walls like samples.

    “These modified humans are madmen.”

“What can we do? As long as their brains aren’t destroyed, they can regenerate.”

As they discussed, they moved to deal with the modified humans’ corpses.

When a third-party soldier reached out to grab one hanging from the wall…

The modified human slid down like a pile of mush.

Hitting the ground, the silver-white bones shattered like broken glass.

Then blood started bubbling out from the grotesque remains.

Everyone present gasped. What kind of terrifying power had crushed the entire modified human? Their bones, though appearing metallic, weren’t.

Using metal skeletons led to many problems. If the enemy had energy weapons, it would be troublesome, as high-energy particle beams could heat and melt metal.

As for the drones, they’d turned into heaps of wreckage.

“Leave one team to clean up the battlefield and gather spoils. The rest, follow me.” After a brief pause, the third-party commander quickly shouted.

Although Yang Bo was clearing the way, no one relaxed. The frontliners still held their energy shields.

Wreckage was strewn all along the way: drones, micro-mechas, signal relay drones, and some regular Anti-Government soldiers. Not a single modified human was left, while the regular soldiers were merely unconscious.

Even the temporary camp established by the Anti-Government Fighters was in disarray. It was located where Yang Bo’s ship had stopped earlier.

“Minister, this guy is terrifying. If he decided to slaughter everyone on a planet, he could do it.” A third-party soldier spoke up in their internal communication.

“That’s unlikely. As long as we don’t provoke such a powerful person…” The third-party commander began to sweat, realizing they might have already done so.

“Minister, maybe we should send some men to search for energy stones. After all, he did us a huge favor; we ought to show our gratitude,” someone suggested. Since Yang Bo was robbing a warplane, and they had fired at him, hadn’t they provoked him? Some quick-thinkers immediately spoke up.

“Yes, yes! He really did help us a lot. We should offer something.”

“With him in the mine, unless the Anti-Government Fighters completely destroy it, we’re safe.”

“Let’s do that!” The third-party commander quickly adopted the suggestion.

“Why do modified humans have the ability to control metal?” Yang Bo had a question in his mind.

After clearing the mine’s main entrance, two warplanes were parked in the canyon. At a speed of over nine Mach, Yang Bo shot toward them.

Beep Beep Beep! Alarms blared from the two warplanes, and their captains rushed to the cockpit.

They could only catch a glimpse of Yang Bo’s back and the surveillance footage.

“Sector Three! Sector Three! Stay on high alert! Repeat, stay on high alert!” The captains frantically called out on the communications channel.

Meanwhile, the two warplanes roared into the sky.

“With this planet’s gravity, nine Mach is nearly the limit.” Yang Bo tested the highest speed he could sustain, and his energy could push him to nine Mach.

This planet’s gravity was strong, but the thin air made it difficult to determine the maximum speed.

Flying at more than 3,000 meters per second, Yang Bo neared his destination, just a few kilometers from the mine entrance.

“Huh?” Yang Bo had intended to head directly to the exit of the rock crevice but spotted an abandoned warplane from the Bounty Hunter Guild.

Strangely, no Anti-Government warplanes were in sight.

“What’s going on?” As Yang Bo approached the crevice’s exit, he noticed that over 100 drones that had been in the sky were now gone.

Three micro-mechas immediately opened fire with their laser cannons as Yang Bo reached the exit.

The energy shield in Yang Bo’s hand lit up, and without slowing, he sped past the barrage. The shield held for just over a second.

That was enough, as the canyon twisted and turned. When the micro-mechas spotted Yang Bo, the distance was less than two kilometers.

Yang Bo instantly stopped right beside the three mechas and released an anti-gravity field, reducing the gravitational pull in the area.

The micro-mechas’ intelligent systems quickly detected the gravity change. Since it was anti-gravity, the force decreased.

The intelligent systems adjusted immediately to stabilize the micro-mechas.

But in the next second, Yang Bo intensified the gravity.

The systems quickly responded, adjusting to the increased gravity while stabilizing the mechas.

Faced with both forces, the micro-mechas collapsed helplessly to the ground, like a person sitting down after a hard day’s work.

Their internal energy and balance systems went haywire.

The three micro-mechas exploded instantly. Their energy systems, primarily powered by batteries, were overloaded. Miniaturized nuclear batteries weren’t feasible for them.

“Technology relies heavily on environmental conditions,” Yang Bo realized. Despite their impressive designs, these tech products were sometimes horribly fragile.

With a thought, the debris from the mechas behind him floated up as he shot toward the mountain crevice.

Drone fragments, especially signal relay drones, were smashed by the floating debris.

Yang Bo’s dynamic vision kicked in, perfectly predicting the intelligent drones’ evasive maneuvers.

Inside the crevice, a dozen modified humans and more than 30 Anti-Government soldiers were manning about 20 micro-mechas, bombarding the Bounty Hunter Guild.

Coordinated suicide drones kept the Bounty Hunters pinned down.

Thanks to the natural advantage of the third defensive line, the modified humans received a warning from their communications channel.

But since the warning concerned Sector Three, they assumed the exterior was being guarded by warplanes and micro-mechas, so they paid it no mind.

When communications from the three micro-mechas were lost, only then did the modified humans sense danger.

They couldn’t believe anyone had attacked them from behind. There were drones and manned warplanes outside, even a warship in the sky!

As Yang Bo took down the signal relay drones, the modified humans lost contact with the warship.

On the Anti-Government warship, the commander’s complexion paled. Yang Bo shot through the canyon, and the warship didn’t detect him.

The warship’s radar focused upward, searching for ambushes in the void.

The warship had hidden most of its warplanes and drones on the planet, ready for any approaching enemies.

The mine had been heavily fortified, with two warplanes patrolling below and elite forces stationed within.

But contact had been lost with the special forces at the mine. It didn’t bode well.

Even worse, like a rat, Yang Bo had slipped right through the main entrance of the mine and reached the crevice’s exit under their noses.

The last footage from the signal relay drone showed the three micro-mechas losing control and exploding. The debris even hit the drone.

“Who the hell is this guy?” The Anti-Government Fighters Commander was losing his mind. Just ten seconds earlier, they had the situation under control.

The mine’s entrance had been fortified with dozens of drones, more than ten micro-mechas, two Special Forces squads, and over 20 auxiliary soldiers. They’d been steadily pushing the enemy back, already into the mine’s second level.

Then, within two seconds, all contact was lost, with no response to any calls.

At the rock crevice, more than 30 micro-mechas, three Special Forces teams, and multiple soldiers had just reported advancing to the middle level, within minutes of breaching the enemy’s defenses.

    Then they too went silent.

The warship commander immediately issued new orders, sending two more drones from the ship.

The drones sped toward the site Yang Bo had entered.

These drones carried even smaller drones, which were being configured.

Yang Bo maintained an average speed of Mach 3. Against the non-combat drones, all it took was passing by and unleashing an anti-gravity field.

Once subjected to a gravity field, the drones crashed to the ground, shattering into pieces and bursting into flames.

With an anti-gravity field, drones hit the ceiling in low areas, while in higher ones, they stabilized only for Yang Bo to deactivate the field.

The drones then plummeted to the ground, exploding.

These drones ran on batteries. Once their energy systems were damaged, the batteries exploded.

The modified humans, having lost contact with the warship, were now ordering the regular soldiers.

“Quick, go secure the rear! The enemy is closing in!” But just as they gave the command, they felt a surge of energy behind them.

As they turned their guns, they saw a storm of metal debris rolling through the passage.

The storm was more than ten meters in diameter, and the metal fragments inside flew at incredible speeds.

The micro-mechas could only fire once before the metal storm consumed both modified humans and soldiers.

The first modified human caught in the storm was shredded by the countless metal fragments, which cut him apart and added his body to the storm.

Within a second, even the micro-mechas were reduced to pieces.

“What kind of superpower is this?” The Bounty Hunter Guild members watching the scene through their equipment were stunned.

“The metal debris exceeded speeds of 25 Mach,” someone said in disbelief, staring at the data.
