Chapter 228: Crisis
by xennovel“Third Master is amazing.”
“This cyborg is completely shattered.”
“Third Master’s superpower is incredible.” The people from the Bounty Hunter Guild were intending to finish off the person Yang Bo knocked down, but when they got closer, a light touch made the person slip to the ground like a pile of mush.
The captured Anti-Government Fighters were trembling in fear. What kind of monster was this? One man taking on 14 special forces members, hundreds of drones, dozens of spider mechas, and several dozen armed soldiers.
And winning flawlessly!
“You guys are lucky, or you’d be nothing but trash like them.” A member of the Bounty Hunter Guild pointed at the surrendered armed men and shouted over the public channel.
“Third Master? There are still two that aren’t dead!” One of the Bounty Hunter Guild members discovered two cyborgs that hadn’t died and asked over the communication channel.
Yang Bo simply waved his hand, and the heads of those two mutants were immediately shot by the Bounty Hunter Guild, exploding on the spot.
The cyborgs’ most vital part is their heads. As long as the head isn’t fatally damaged, they can always revive.
The ruthless ways of the Bounty Hunter Guild members pleased Yang Bo.
Of course, other regular prisoners were taken aside and interrogated.
The only downside for the Bounty Hunter Guild people was…
When Third Master gets involved, there’s barely any loot left.
Because it’s always shattered by the metal storm.
“Third Master, something seems off. The intel from the Anti-Government Fighters indicates there’s something important in this mine.”
“We estimate the Anti-Government Fighters will send more people. Their warship has over 6,000 people, and around 600 cyborgs.” After collecting intel from the prisoners, the President reported to Yang Bo.
“I fought at the mine’s main entrance. Send someone to select the spoils for me and store them at the guild. I’ll pick them up later.” Yang Bo’s first thought was his own spoils, particularly those near the mine’s entrance.
“Understood,” the President quickly nodded.
“How’s their warship’s armament? Do they have any weapons capable of destroying this planet?” Yang Bo was concerned about this, while simultaneously thinking about the hundreds of cyborgs. Defeating them could give him a lot of Metal Superpower experience points.
“They don’t, and using such weapons would cause massive energy fluctuations observable by all three nations in the universe.”
“What I’m wondering is, why did the Anti-Government Fighters send this small of a unit against us? Could it be they know this is a trap?” The President continued analyzing over the communication channel.
Yang Bo nodded to himself, feeling this was plausible. He was beginning to view the President in a new light for considering this angle.
“Right now, we’re critically low on supplies, especially spare batteries for the laser guns.”
“There’s nowhere to charge them either. If the enemy continues draining our resources, we ourselves won’t last.” The President of the Bounty Hunter Guild spoke again.
Yang Bo completely understood. This planet was uninhabitable for humans. The only reason these super gene-evolved individuals could survive was because of their own energy and their armor.
But their energy was finite. Once it was depleted, they’d be out of luck.
In survival situations like this, you had to rely on technology. For instance, Yang Bo’s Heavy-Duty Protective Gear had a self-circulating system that could sustain a person for two weeks.
The superhumans in battle armor, on the other hand, could only last about one or two days in those conditions, and in high-intensity combat, maybe only half a day.
“The mine initially had emergency gear, but it’s been destroyed by those mutant crawlers,” the President said worriedly.
“That’s our biggest disadvantage. If the enemy keeps launching continuous attacks, we’ll soon have no choice but to surrender.”
Hearing this, Yang Bo asked over the channel, “Do you have any good ideas?”
“We don’t have any better options right now. Unless we go back to the warplanes. There are three mechas in the Cargo Bay that we could use to take turns resting,” the President suggested.
Yang Bo wasn’t too worried about the warship. He could always sneak aboard and make a clean escape.
However, he still preferred working with the Alliance over the Anti-Government Fighters. Plus, the Bounty Hunter Guild seemed decent. He had already become a top-tier member, which made things more convenient in the future.
After all, the Bounty Hunter Guild wasn’t just in the Alliance. It operated openly in the other two nations too.
“I could give it a try, but the mechas require activation keys.” The President’s meaning was clear to Yang Bo.
“I can issue a guild bounty task for you,” the President continued.
“That won’t be necessary. I don’t have much confidence in it anyway, and I plan to trade goods with the guild in the future.” Yang Bo flatly refused and outlined his future plans.
Yang Bo felt that now, in his role as a strongman, there was no need to mince words with people beneath him.
“Of course, no problem. Our Bounty Hunter Guild has a massive organizational system,” the President replied, now even more eager to see what rare items Yang Bo had. A super strongman like him was bound to possess plenty of rare goods.
Yang Bo received three cards, each one activating a mecha.
The President hoped that Yang Bo could at least secure one mecha so that everyone here could take turns resting in its cockpit.
“I’ll head through the main entrance.” Yang Bo had no intention of exiting through the current path. The people on the warship weren’t fools. With this many missing people, there were probably countless high-tech traps waiting outside for him.
As Yang Bo quickly headed deeper into the cave, the President of the Bounty Hunter Guild loudly ordered, “Advance! Set up defenses at the second checkpoint. The Anti-Government Fighters will attack soon!”
Indeed, the Anti-Government Fighters were steadily bringing in reinforcements—20 special forces teams, 100 cyborgs. Twenty were stationed at the mine entrance, while 80 were positioned in areas near the Bounty Hunter Guild.
They also had a large number of drones and spider mechas.
Additionally, over 400 regular armed fighters were positioned at both the main entrance and the mountain crevice exits, with a few warplanes hovering overhead.
“Everyone, five-minute countdown! Kill every person you see. You may use any high-tech weapons at your disposal.” The commander aboard the Anti-Government ghost warship issued the final order.
Sorry, the updates have been irregular these past couple of days. My head’s been killing me. I’ve written this part twice now. I’ll try to write more tomorrow.
