Chapter Index

The small transport ship continuously brought various supplies to the planet. Because of differing combat environments, the parameters of drones and mecha drones had to be reconfigured.

Using drones in space versus on a planet required changes to the environmental parameters.

The Anti-Government Fighters aimed to wipe everyone out this time, so they brought shockwave bombs, even mini-hydrogen bombs.

Of course, these bombs were primarily placed along the Bounty Hunter Guild’s defensive line.

The front entrance of the mine had collapsed once before. With more bombs, it would likely collapse entirely.

As for the emergency exit, the Anti-Government Fighters only guarded the exterior without launching an attack because the passage inside was too narrow.

Furthermore, the emergency exit was on the surface, making it easy for warplanes to detect.

“Big trouble!” The president of the Bounty Hunter Guild stood at the exit, watching two transport ships descend from the sky, escorted by several warplanes.

“Electromagnetic bombs, shockwave bombs, mini-hydrogen bombs!” Several others watched as the mecha drones disembarked from the transport ships, each carrying a bomb.

“Self-destruct drones.” There were even self-destruct drones.

Without strong electromagnetic interference, the strike power of self-destruct drones was terrifying.

Each one would crash into you at Mach speed, detonating instantly.

The people of the Bounty Hunter Guild felt a chill. Self-destruct drones were designed to deplete resources. Even though a single one wasn’t deadly to a superhuman in armor,

it would still drain your energy. For a superhuman in armor to resist, they had to inject their own energy into their armor for defense.

“If it really doesn’t work, we may have to surrender,” someone in the Bounty Hunter Guild suggested.

“It’s better to die. If we go in, we’ll likely be turned into cyborgs, with our memories altered.”

“And what’s the point of a mechanical body? You can’t even seek out women.”

“Cyborgs of the Anti-Government Fighters don’t seek women. They say there’s a helmet that can connect to the nervous system and transmit signals directly to them.”

“The Anti-Government Fighters only trust those they raise personally. Any captured gene evolvers will be turned into cyborgs.”

“If I were a woman, it’d be better. They say women have higher status over there.”

“Nonsense! If you have a talented gene evolution, their higher-ups will pick you to become a breeding tool.” People chattered in the public channel.

“Hopefully, Third Master can make progress.”

“President, if this mission goes south, what do we do when we return?” another member of the Bounty Hunter Guild asked.

“Let’s deal with it when we get back. The one who posted the mission can’t escape. We’ll settle it following the rules,” the president of the Bounty Hunter Guild replied.

This wasn’t the first time something like this had happened. Many times, the mission details differed significantly from reality, so investigators routinely looked into these issues.

Of course, being a bounty hunter was inherently dangerous. Everyone knew the risks when they entered this line of work.

After five minutes, at the front of the mine, ten mecha spider drones led the charge.

These mecha drones jumped through the narrow passage while launching laser attacks.

The third-party militants opened fire with their laser guns, but morale was low as they were running out of battery power.

Drone after drone exploded, but more and more mecha spider drones swarmed into the passage.

Then more ordinary drones followed. These drones didn’t self-destruct but flew at high speed straight toward the third-party militants.

The third-party militants fired at the drones, causing explosions, but there were too many. They had to retreat while shooting.

The situation at the mine’s front wasn’t as bad. At least 500 drones swarmed into rock crevices, and over a hundred mecha spider drones attacked on the ground.

Then came the second wave of drones and mecha spider drones.

With more people, the Bounty Hunter Guild fired at full force, and they had a few electromagnetic bombs.

Among the enemy drones were reconnaissance drones, self-destruct drones, and the high-speed impact kind.

The footage was sent back to the warship, and the warship commander looked slightly dissatisfied. “Push everything forward. End this quickly!”

The people on the ground received the order. A wave of cyborgs and ordinary armed soldiers headed into the rock crevices.

Two thousand drones of various types and countless mecha spider drones followed.

The Bounty Hunter Guild’s second defensive line was breached in less than thirty seconds.

Their drones seemed endless, crashing down like hailstones.

The president of the Bounty Hunter Guild quickly led his people to retreat. Someone was already waiting at the third defensive line.

But facing hundreds or even thousands of drones, their casualties continued to rise.

“President, I only have one spare battery left!”

“Me too. They’ve got way too many drones.”

    “President!”

“Retreat. Set bombs at the fifth defensive line. If it doesn’t work, we’ll blow the passage.” The president’s face looked grim. With a warship providing support, the Anti-Government Fighters were too powerful this time.

“Now we’re counting on Third Master. If not, we won’t be able to hold this.”

“We should pull back to the deeper part of the mine.”

“If the Anti-Government Fighters find out they got fake intel, will they lash out in anger?”

“Take out the energy stones we collected and set up traps,” the president of the Bounty Hunter Guild ordered.

Energy stones were placed everywhere as the president and the others retreated to the fourth defensive line.

The drones and mecha drones advanced rapidly, followed closely by the cyborgs and regular anti-government troops.

These cyborgs had no idea how their predecessors had gone dark, so they proceeded cautiously.

Drones were used to scan every nook and cranny of the rock crevices as they advanced.

Yang Bo arrived at the mine’s front and found it had fallen. They had retreated to the fourth layer.

The enemy drones seemed endless, flying in groups of ten, twenty, or even thirty toward the third-party militants.

If they hit, great. If not, the drones would just explode at close range.

“Sir, your spoils of war were taken by the Bounty Hunter Guild,” the third-party commander said, seeing Yang Bo arrive like he had grabbed a lifeline in despair. He quickly spoke on the public channel.

“From now on, call me Third Master. Old rules!” Yang Bo had just recharged. He kept mecha batteries stored in his mecha storage facility. The nuclear batteries lasted a long time.

“Understood!” The third-party commander immediately nodded.

Off to the hospital for an IV. Second chapter will be longer this afternoon. Feeling a bit better today, but hope it doesn’t relapse. Thanks for the concern, everyone. Stay safe and take precautions. I got careless.
