Chapter Index

The warplane’s door remained open, left exactly as the Bounty Hunter Guild had abandoned it. If the door closed, the three Cyborgs inside would lose contact with the outside world unless they used the warship’s communication and wireless systems.

However, the likelihood of hacking into a warplane’s central AI system was extremely low as it was a difficult task.

After activating his Invisibility, Yang Bo carefully observed the surroundings. The Bounty Hunter Guild’s warplane was still parked beneath the cliff, where it had landed to avoid direct strikes from space warships.

From here, he could see the Bounty Hunter Guild’s position in the rock crevices. Several warplanes patrolled the canyon, most of which were Drone Fighters.

There were also a few manned warplanes flying above the canyon. Among them, two were manned warplanes.

Drone Fighters were typically controlled by warships, but during ground maneuvers, various issues could arise, such as severe electromagnetic or radiation interference.

Such interference could disrupt communication, making manned warplanes essential in these situations.

“How should I make my entrance?” Yang Bo muttered to himself, wondering how he could appear without raising suspicion. His Invisibility ability had to remain a secret.

Looking at the thick layer of dust on the ground, Yang Bo came up with an idea.

One side of the canyon housed several irregular caves. The drastic temperature shifts on this planet caused the dust to pile up, with daytime temperatures soaring to hundreds of degrees while dropping below zero at night.

When the planet wasn’t exposed to the star’s light, temperatures fell to minus one or two hundred degrees, which explained the thick dust.

“Things seem to be getting more interesting.” Yang Bo whispered as he headed for one of the caves.

Were the Anti-Government Fighters attacking so recklessly and suffering such large losses for some hidden treasure in the mine? “First, it could be that something significant was found in the mine, but how have we not discovered it?”

“Or second, the Anti-Government Fighters are putting on a show, but for whom?”

“A warship shouldn’t be carrying so few warplanes, let alone drones and mecha drones.” Yang Bo was filled with unanswered questions.

“It’s a shame I don’t know much about minerals. Didn’t the Bounty Hunter Guild find anything suspicious? Surely, some of them are experts in minerals.” Yang Bo contemplated these thoughts as he sneaked deeper into the cave, still using Invisibility.

He released his mecha and donned his Camouflage Cloak.

Clad in the Camouflage Cloak, he quietly approached the cave’s exit.

Using the cloak, he made his way to the warplane. The life-support system was off, keeping the ship in its abandoned state as left by the Bounty Hunter Guild.

To be exact, the warplane had been modified, unlike those used by the military.

The Anti-Government Fighters’ warplanes were far superior to those used by the Bounty Hunter Guild.

After all, the Anti-Government Fighters had the covert support of two countries, while the Bounty Hunter Guild had to modify their own warplanes.

Yang Bo pretended not to know that the warplane contained hidden Cyborgs.

After entering the warplane, Yang Bo quickly headed for the cargo bay. He had already checked it earlier and confirmed that it hadn’t been tampered with. Perhaps the Cyborgs thought damaging the cargo bay would give away their position.

Reaching the entrance to the cargo bay, he used his clearance to open the door. In the next moment, Yang Bo stepped inside and closed it behind him.

The three Cyborgs inside watched in shock as Yang Bo entered the cargo bay. Only then did they react: “Why didn’t anyone warn us?”

“What have you discovered?” The Commander aboard the warship suddenly received a communication and asked immediately.

“Sir, someone has breached the abandoned warplane,” reported one of the Cyborgs.

The Anti-Government Fighters Commander was stunned. In a disbelieving tone, he asked, “Did you not attack him?”

“He moved too quickly, and he was wearing a Camouflage Cloak.” The Cyborgs explained over the comms.

“I stationed you there to attack anyone you didn’t recognize! I just gave the order to kill every intruder!” The Commander of the Anti-Government Fighters was furious. He had placed the three Cyborgs there precisely because he suspected someone would return.

“We didn’t receive that command!” The Cyborgs’ response through the comms left the Commander even more aggravated.

Upon reviewing the data, the Commander fell silent. The three Cyborgs were on an isolated channel, keeping radio silence.

In other words, the Cyborgs had no idea about the situation outside the warplane. They had been ordered to remain hidden and inactive until further orders. Without those, they wouldn’t move.

“Find him, and capture him alive if possible!” The Commander of the Anti-Government Fighters remained silent, knowing it was his own order that had kept them inactive.

For now, the Commander just felt mentally drained. Cyborgs could be annoyingly erratic.

Yet, their immense strength and extensive combat experience made them indispensable. Every commander favored them.

Just then, the Commander heard three startled cries over comms: “Mecha!”

“Commander, three mechas spotted!” A voice reported along with the visual feed.

Three ninth-generation mechas formed a straight line, their jetpacks at full throttle.

Before the Commander could give any orders, the three mechas sped directly into Combat Zone Three at maximum speed.

“Idiots!” The Anti-Government Fighters Commander gritted his teeth in frustration. What good were his plans now? If the Cyborgs had acted earlier, there was no way the enemy would have gotten away with the mechas.

“Commander, we lost the signal in Combat Zone Three.” Before the Commander could order a response, he received more bad news.

The Commander no longer knew how to process his emotions but continued issuing a series of commands.

Ten mechas were launched from the warship, dropped into the combat zone at maximum speed.

These ten mechas were manned by humans.

“Enter Combat Zone Three as fast as possible,” the Captain ordered.

“Understood!” came the synchronized response from the pilots.

“Commander, there’s an anomalous energy fluctuation detected in the airspace.” At this moment, the Anti-Government Fighters Commander received another report.

“Good, finally!” The Commander of the Anti-Government Fighters responded, excitement evident in his voice.

Feeling better today. Expect another chapter around noon.
