Chapter Index

Why are Mechas important? Because they are called the kings of the battlefield, especially in situations like this.

Yang Bo set two other Mechas to follow mode and took control of one. The moment the warplane’s cargo bay opened, he flew toward the distant rock crevices at a speed of Mach 9.

The Anti-Government Fighters’ drones had just reacted and started firing, but Yang Bo had already entered the rock crevices with the two Mechas.

Three cyborgs on the warplane rushed out, only to see their drones firing the last two laser beams.

“Captain, should we still go in?” The three cyborgs hiding in the warplane exchanged glances, with one of them asking over the channel.

The captain glared back at him angrily: “Are you an idiot? The enemy has three Mechas.”

“What about the people in Combat Zone Three?”

“Sacrificing for our great cause is an honor… follow me, should we go in?” The captain suddenly looked into the sky, his tone shifting immediately.

Several lights appeared in the sky, and the communications channel confirmed that ten Mechas were arriving.

In Combat Zone Three, the Bounty Hunter Guild had already lost seven or eight members. The Anti-Government Fighters were bombing them with thousands of self-destruct drones.

On the ground, there were also Mecha Spider Drones firing laser cannons nonstop.

In under ten minutes, the Bounty Hunter Guild had been forced back to their eighth defensive line.

At this point, they still hadn’t seen any cyborgs from the Anti-Government Fighters, as they were being battered by self-destruct drones and Mecha Drones.

Individual soldiers didn’t have many powerful weapons, and the laser gun battery supply was insufficient.

A bigger crisis was needing to use their superpowers to block the explosion shards from the self-destruct drones.

“President, some of us can’t hold on any longer.”

“President, with this kind of attack, I can last at most another half hour.”

The Bounty Hunter Guild President heard the voices in the channel and gave an order: “Those with low energy fall back to the mine and leave the laser gun spare batteries forr others.”

“President, what’s going on with Third Master?”

“It’s tough over there. There are several Drone Fighters outside, plus other warplanes and warships in the sky.”

“Forget it, keep fighting and retreating. How many electromagnetic bombs do we have?” The President asked after hearing questions from his subordinates.

    “I have two left.”

    “I have one left.”

After tallying up, they had nine electromagnetic bombs.

“President, it’s useless. The enemy’s Mecha Drones target our bombs and destroy them as soon as we throw them,” someone immediately reported.

“Set timers and retreat to the next defensive line.” The President looked at the remaining forces, feeling desperate. There was no way around it. The enemy had a warship and so many Drone Fighters. If not for the narrow terrain, one wave of bombing would have wiped them out.

So, the team set the electromagnetic bombs and began retreating.

The pursuing self-destruct drones and Mecha Drones broke through the defense line instantly.

In the next second, the electromagnetic bombs exploded together, incinerating at least 200 self-destruct drones and several Mecha Drones in an electromagnetic surge. The surge destroyed the energy systems of the drones and Mecha Drones.

The Bounty Hunter Guild members fled chaotically to the next defensive line, preparing to face the overwhelming swarm of self-destruct drones.

However, strangely, the self-destruct drones seemed to have disappeared.

The cyborgs in the rock crevices were leisurely commanding the self-destruct drones and Mecha Drones to assault the enemy’s defense line.

“The battle will be over in at most 20 minutes.”

“I say we should just finish them in one go.”

“From the few casualties so far, it seems the enemy’s energy is running low.”

“Let’s wait for another ten minutes, then we’ll finish them in one wave.”

“Where do these idiots get the confidence to oppose us? We have a warship backing us.”

“Cyborgs are amazing. We don’t even need oxygen to survive.”

“Weren’t they supposed to have a powerful expert? Where is he?”

“What powerful expert dares to face us?”

“And there are so many of us, plus we have so many bombs.”

“Why can’t we contact the warship?” The cyborgs exchanged messages over their channel.

Cyborgs don’t need to speak while communicating in their channel. Their bodies have a built-in neural network, allowing them to send thoughts directly to their comrades.

Cyborgs can also connect their neural networks to the wireless system to control the self-destruct drones and Mecha Drones.

Ordinary soldiers, however, still need to communicate verbally.

“Something’s wrong! The relay drone in the back is down!” Several dozen cyborgs immediately realized the situation, then 15 cyborgs quickly split into three teams and rushed behind the rock crevices.

The remaining ordinary soldiers had no idea what was going on. They watched dumbfounded as the cyborgs ahead of them suddenly sprinted back.

But before they could even react for two seconds, a few cyborgs from those three teams came running back.

Along with them were beams of blinding laser light.

“Laser cannons?” Seeing those bright beams, the ordinary soldiers immediately recognized what was firing.

“Surrender or die!” Although the ordinary soldiers had undergone genetic enhancement, seeing the three Mechas, they couldn’t help but gasp.

Two Mechas kept firing laser cannons, destroying drones and Mecha Drones on sight.

Although the Mecha Drones also had laser weapons to counterattack, t were much smaller than the manned Mechas. Mecha Drones stood just over a meter tall, while the manned Mechas were around eight to nine meters tall.

The lasers from the Mecha Drones did limited damage to the manned Mechas.

As long as the manned Mecha laser cannon hit a Mecha Drone, it was destroyed.

One of the Mecha laser cannons focused on the cyborgs, eliminating them one by one.

The situation suddenly became bizarre. Dozens of Anti-Government Fighter soldiers, armed with various laser weapons, stood confused.

Dozens of cyborgs, either trying to charge or hide, were efficiently taken out by the laser cannons.

“Mechas are the best!” Yang Bo grinned widely. The cyborgs running around looked like a bunch of headless chickens.

He continuously adjusted the controls of the Mecha, one hand constantly operating the laser cannon.

For some reason, Yang Bo felt more in control with this setup. Using his Optical Ability to control the Mecha didn’t feel as satisfying. Each click of the button resulted in a cyborg getting blown up.

Cyborgs had not only energy but also batteries inside them, so when they were hit, parts of their bodies would explode.

In less than five seconds, Yang Bo had wiped out more than half of the cyborgs, with a few lucky ones only getting their weak points hit.

He gained a huge boost in Metal Superpower powers!

“Am I turning a bit twisted?” Yang Bo wondered as he stopped himself from the urge to wipe out all the remaining Anti-Government soldiers.

“Do you still want to resist?” Yang Bo’s cold voice rang through the public channel.

The rock crevices fell silent. The two Mechas had already finished off the self-destruct drones and Mecha Drones.

“The Bounty Hunter Guild’s modified Mechas aren’t bad. Much better than the basic military models. No wonder people say that rich Mecha pilots in the military modify their own Mechas.”

The remaining soldiers quickly threw away their laser guns. In such a confined space, three Mechas felt like three laser turrets. Where could they possibly hide?

“Third Master?” The Bounty Hunter Guild members on the other side also saw the bright laser beams here and the cyborgs being annihilated. The Guild President shouted over the comms.

“I brought three Mechas. Two of them are yours. Take them and get some rest,” Yang Bo responded.

    “That’s fantastic.”

“With Mechas, we don’t have anything to fear.”

    “Third Master is amazing!”

“How did Third Master do it?” The Bounty Hunter Guild members exclaimed excitedly over the channel.

Earlier, everyone was filled with despair under the constant onslaught of self-destruct drones and Mecha Drones from the Anti-Government Fighters. Their energy reserves could only last half an hour at most.

Weaker ones could hold out for just a few minutes. Now that they had two Mechas, they could fit several people inside to rest and recover their energy.

The Bounty Hunter Guild hurried to control the two Mechas and rushed toward the bottom of the mine, where several members desperately needed rest.

The others started collecting the spoils. As for the cyborgs who hadn’t died, just been hit in critical spots, the Bounty Hunters ruthlessly shot them in the head.

All the captured ordinary Anti-Government soldiers were taken to the back of the mine. The Bounty Hunters also seized all their supplies, like energy bars to quickly replenish their stamina.

“The Anti-Government Fighters have more Mechas coming. You all retreat.” Yang Bo noticed more Mechas arriving and shouted over the comms.

“How many Mechas?” Hearing this, the Bounty Hunter Guild members grew nervous again.

Instead of answering, they saw Yang Bo’s Mecha’s jetpack burst with intense energy.

Everyone who saw this was stunned. Even the Mecha pilots knew the limitations of jetpacks in such an environment.

Pushing the jetpack to this level in such a narrow space was either the act of an idiot or a master.

“Is Third Master a master Mecha pilot?” One of the Mecha pilots remarked in disbelief over the comms.

“Everyone fall back and use the Mechas to recharge the laser gun batteries,” the Bouunty Hunter Guild President ordered over the comms.

The captured laser guns couldn’t be used directly, as they came with intelligent control systems that only allowed allies to use them.

One advantage of the laser guns, however, was that even if teammates were in front, there was no risk of hitting them. Traditional firearms could easily cause friendly fire.

Another advantage of the intelligent systems was that even when captured by others, the guns couldn’t be used immediately.

“President, I’m heading up there to take a look!”

“Me too!” Several Mecha pilots in the Guild grew excited at the thought of witnessing a master Mecha pilot in action. They figured even dying in such a battle would be worth it.

Apologies for the recent delays. Once things settle, I’ll deliver more updates.
