Chapter Index

The warships of the Anti-Government Fighters were firing back and forth with two Alliance warships, lighting up the sky with countless brilliant lights, each filled with immense energy.

At this time, none of the warships had their engines running. Since space has no gravity, the warships didn’t need much energy for their engines, relying instead on strong inertia.

Both sides had activated their energy shields. The lasers hitting the shields caused colorful ripples, a result of energy annihilation phenomena.

When seen from the planet, the battle between the warships had already ended by the time it was observed, as light traveling from the scene to the planet takes time.

It’s like on Earth, where people observe phenomena from lightyears away that actually occurred many years ago because the light took so long to reach Earth.

Perhaps in some part of the universe, it’s still possible to observe the formation of the solar system.

    “It looks like Alliance warships!”

    “We’ve been tricked!”

“These guys actually used us as bait!”

“Those old geezers.” Some of the Bounty Hunter Guild members saw this scene in the void and said this over the channel.

Yang Bo was trying to start his warplane when the alarm suddenly sounded. Looking up at the sky, he too saw the scene.

“Following that Fat Boss always leads to weird and messy situations.” Yang Bo started the warplane to check out what was going on. Why had all the warplanes disappeared? If the Anti-Government Fighters retreated, then he would just escape.

It now seemed complicated. No one knew which side the two additional warships belonged to.

In the vastness of the void, no one could tell which power these suddenly appearing warships belonged to.

After a burst of dazzling light, the void plunged back into darkness. Yang Bo’s warplane belonged to the Bounty Hunter Guild, so to both the Anti-Government Fighters and the Alliance warships, his warplane was seen as an enemy.

The Recognition System identified Yang Bo’s warplane as not being on their side.

This left Yang Bo at a loss. Now, there were three warships in the void, and none of them were on his side.

“Maybe I should see how the situation plays out first?” Yang Bo decided to wait and see what was happening.

“Third Master?” People from the Bounty Hunter Guild arrived near the warplane and called out over the communication channel.

“Get on.” The mecha moved deeper into the mine, leaving the remaining people to check out the warplane.

The group boarded the warplane and sighed in relief. They could finally rest properly here.

Six people boarded. Once inside, one of them spoke up, “Third Master, what exactly is going on?”

“Something strange is happening. I don’t know which power these two new warships belong to.” Yang Bo had a lot of questions in his head.

“As long as they’re not with the Anti-Government Fighters, our Bounty Hunter Guild fears nobody.” One person spoke up.

Curious, Yang Bo asked, “The Bounty Hunter Guild has that big of a reputation?”

“Third Master, if the Anti-Government Fighters capture someone, they won’t let them go. They brainwash people, and if necessary, use them as breeding tools.”

“Other groups, like pirates, are just in it for the money. As long as you pay up, there’s no problem. Our Bounty Hunter Guild may lack certain things, but money isn’t one of them.”

“Our guild is also very strong. Pirates and other groups all need to give us some face.”

Yang Bo didn’t know much about these things, and it was hard to tell if the person was exaggerating. He just listened for now.

“What mission is your guild on?” Yang Bo decided to ask about the purpose of the Bounty Hunter Guild’s presence here.

“We were commissioned to check the mining progress and reserves of this energy stone vein.”

“The reward for this mission is quite generous. We didn’t expect to run into the current situation. In fact, we frequently take on scouting missions like this.”

“Shouldn’t there be an official surveying agency for this?” Yang Bo asked out of curiosity.

“Third Master, energy stone veins are usually mined secretly. If you involve an official surveying agency, who knows how much tax you’ll have to pay.”

“Energy stones are a hard currency. If you can’t sell them in your own country, they sell just fine in others. Pirates and privately reconstructed spaceships also need energy stones.”

“So, what were your findings?” Yang Bo, who didn’t know much about mining, asked.

“This mine is huge. According to the data collected so far, many energy stones can still be mined. Additionally, this vein produces some elemental energy stones, though the ratio is low at present. Continued mining might yield more.”

“How are energy stones even formed?” Yang Bo was curious. How do energy stones and elemental energy stones form?

“There are many theories about how energy stones form, but none are definitive. Energy stone veins appear in all sorts of places. This variety makes locating energy stone-bearing planets in the vast universe almost entirely reliant on human exploration.”

“Some people spend their whole lives searching without finding a single energy stone mine.”

“Even big companies have gone bankrupt after spending too long without discovering an energy stone mine.”

“Like this planet, you’d need at least 300 to 400 prospecting robots working continuously for 5 to 10 years just to figure out what mineral veins exist here.”

After hearing this explanation, Yang Bo came to understand that energy stones were undetectable. This is why prospecting robots were necessary. These robots are fully autonomous and intelligent.

Treasure hunters need to establish a base, then release enough prospecting robots to work on the planet they want to survey.

A few minutes later, the President of the Bounty Hunter Guild led two others out of the cave.

“What’s the situation now?” The President hurriedly asked after boarding the warplane.

“A battle just ended between three warships. The next one is expected in half an hour. There’s one Anti-Government Fighters warship and two warships from another faction.” Yang Bo explained.

The President of the Bounty Hunter Guild carefully reviewed the recent footage. Unfortunately, the distance was too far for the warplane’s scanner to detect any markings or signals on the two warships.

“What happened to the warplanes guarding the cave entrance earlier?” The President asked again.

“No idea, it seems they all vanished. What about the prisoners?”

“Look!” Just at that moment, they saw many warplanes flying into space through the warplane’s window. Illuminated by the starlight, the warplanes looked like flashing blades of light, heading towards the stars.
