Chapter Index

Yang Bo sat at home, pondering his recent gains while preparing for future experiments. For example, using Electro-Optic powers to create electronic interference and stealth. Electro-Optic power could easily achieve technological invisibility.

This meant absorbing energy waves emitted by detection devices since Yang Bo didn’t know what scanning techniques these devices used—whether it was light waves, sound waves, or electromagnetic waves.

Far out in the void, the President of the Bounty Hunter Guild spotted another spaceship, feeling relieved.

“Did you really manage to steal a whole spaceship?” The person on the other side of the video stared at the President of the Bounty Hunter Guild, utterly shocked.

“It’s an armed ship from 3-1 Exploration Company, officially produced by a warship manufacturer. Plus, it has over 200 onboard, all superhumans,” the President of the Bounty Hunter Guild nodded at the man.

“The quality of 3-1 Exploration Company’s armed ships is indeed impressive. And now, since Trinity Corporation is in trouble, there’s no major issue. I’ll offer you 1.2 billion,” said the black-haired youth generously.

“Do you even know how expensive this ship is? It can operate autonomously for 80 years, reaching a maximum of 100 years. Isn’t this spaceship much better suited for your pirate crew?” the President of the Bounty Hunter Guild said, slightly annoyed.

“Of course, we know! Otherwise, a normal ship would only fetch a few billion,” the youth naturally answered, completely at ease.

“5 billion. Otherwise, I’ll find another buyer.” The President of the Bounty Hunter Guild sneered. This specially modified ship from 3-1 Exploration Company cost over 10 billion just to build. Its energy system, life support system, engine, and weapons systems were all custom-made.

Since they had no idea what challenges might arise during their adventures, this modified ship was faster than most of the mainline battleships.

“5 billion is too much.” The youth shook his head firmly.

“Fine, then. I have two other buyers waiting anyway. Just so you know, this customized ship is faster than even the mainline battleships,” the President of the Bounty Hunter Guild refused outright.

The youth rolled his eyes. “There’s a time limit, and it’s short. Do you think pirates don’t understand the capabilities of such a ship? How about 1.5 billion?”

“Forget it, then. I’ll just sell it to someone within my own guild,” the President dismissed him.

“2 billion. I can’t go higher,” the youth insisted.

“The ship also has three warplanes onboard, plus over 200 superhumans. The whole package for 5 billion,” the President of the Bounty Hunter Guild continued.

“You’ve already made quite a bit, haven’t you? Word is, you sold the news about that Longevity Energy Stone. How much did the media pay you for that info? Packaging it all together for 3 billion,” said the youth with a grin.

The President of the Bounty Hunter Guild thought it over. He still had some things to handle on March Planet. Pressingly, he needed to win over two people. One was the powerful master, Third Master, and the other was a young man in heavy-duty protective gear. The kid had extraordinary talent and incredible luck, being the one to find the Longevity Energy Stone.

No matter whether the young man’s fortunes came from his powers or pure luck, he had now unlocked new skills. He was worth recruiting before anyone else did.

“4 billion! And this includes some cyborgs from the Anti-Government Fighters.”

“I want to inspect the goods!” The youth’s eyes lit up at the mention of cyborgs from the Anti-Government Fighters.

Even pirates hoped for subordinates who were both obedient and powerful. The technology for anti-government cyborgs was truly unparalleled.

After bringing them to the Pirate Alliance, the youth’s clan would provide the cyborgs, while others would research the technology. Once cyborg tech was mastered, the pirate leader would no longer fear mutiny.

Though slave chips fulfilled the same role, they didn’t increase strength, unlike cyborgs, which could enhance the abilities of the subject.

The youth arrived on the warship and inspected it carefully. After that, the deal was made. Once it was done, another spaceship, belonging to the Bounty Hunter Guild, appeared in the distant void, heading toward the mining planet.

“You guys must have had some insane luck.” The pirate leader originally planned to snatch everything back after the deal was done, assuming the Bounty Hunter Guild members would leave in their warplanes. But he never expected them to have another ship for backup.

“You’re too kind, too kind!” The President of the Bounty Hunter Guild laughed heartily, inwardly musing about dealing with pirates. No way you could leave yourself without a backup plan.

Both parties exchanged their goodbyes. The Bounty Hunter Guild was thrilled. This meant they’d all get quite a bit of money from this deal.

Mid-route, the hunters of March Planet disembarked, boarding a passenger ship that would take them to March Planet.

This spaceship was one of many used by the Bounty Hunter Guild to ferry their members on missions across the void.

Yang Bo had no idea someone had their eye on him. He had just returned from buying groceries since there was a forecast predicting another hurricane tonight.

“It’s time I made a life plan for myself,” Yang Bo decided to draft his life goals.

“On one hand, I need to build up my image as a genius pharmacist. The Fat Boss’s family must have considerable influence. I’ll visit his family next year, and if they’re not suitable, I’ll drop the idea.”

“On the other hand, joining Thief Sect? If I could join them, I’d overhaul my image as a genius. That alone would be enough.”

“As for the Fat Boss’s superpowers, I’ll hold off on revealing anything stronger for now. I can save that for later, if necessary.”

“I also need to make better use of my identity as Third Master by consolidating some illicit resources or recruiting a group of people. This could be vital when the time comes.”

“The Bounty Hunter Guild is a decent illegal group. They’ve even set up operations in two other countries. If things go south with the Alliance, I can always rely on my Third Master identity and hop over to one of those other nations.”

“I might also use this identity to gather valuable resources. I just need to check what useful items the Bounty Hunter Guild has, especially anything related to superpowers or rare beasts.” Yang Bo laid out a double-pronged plan. Both paths had to be pursued.

Yang Bo had to develop both his public and hidden identities. His current strength was considerable, but he couldn’t reveal many of his powers openly. Doing so would attract unwanted trouble. Powers like invisibility, for example!

“How I wish society’s technology weren’t so advanced!” Sometimes, this thought entered Yang Bo’s mind.

But soon after, he would remind himself that, without this world’s advanced technology, how could he have ever gained superpowers from games?

“In one more week, the new post-apocalyptic battleground update will be released for the Mecha Game. Is it going to work with remote control? Why a post-apocalyptic scenario?”

“Could it be based on a decaying planet?” Yang Bo thought about the game. The Mecha Game had made him who he was. Whether it was operating mechas or using superpowers, this game had helped him enormously.

As for being the Lord of the Green Demon Planet… Yang Bo didn’t care at all. That title had no real use within the Alliance. If he ever publicized it, the Alliance might even start keeping an eye on him.

The Green Demon Planet was technically autonomous, but it was still constrained by the Alliance’s control since the planet had no direct routes to the outside.

“What material is this made of?” Yang Bo pulled out his unlocking gear. What kind of mutated beast’s fur was this?

“There’s definitely a major force behind the Thief Sect. Otherwise, they couldn’t have located so many weak points in mechas and spaceships.” Yang Bo inspected his door lock.

“Once the hurricane passes, I’ll buy a few more experimental locks.” As he eyed the dark clouds in the sky, he noted that this was typical pre-hurricane weather.

“They say the Gobi Desert is the most beautiful this time of year. Should I go take a look?” Yang Bo recalled how, during the immigration process, they had mentioned the planet’s Gobi Desert was gorgeous during hurricane season.

The strong winds brought in lots of rain, turning the Gobi into a sea of colorful flowers.

Yang Bo searched online and was surprised to find specialized tours already available. And plenty of people were visiting.

The Gobi was vastly different from when Yang Bo had last visited. Now it resembled a giant grassland, covered in vibrant flowers. However, tourists were only allowed into specific safe zones since the area was home to wild animals.

“Nature is truly amazing.” Yang Bo marveled, deciding not to go, as there were too many people, and many restrictions made the trip less appealing.

After eating and drinking his fill, he headed to the basement to summon his mecha.

“What should I do with all these energy stones?” Yang Bo glanced at the energy stones in his hand, stolen from the sorting machine, along with the Longevity Energy Stone he had carefully hidden away.

“If these energy stones explode when exposed to other energy types, could I make energy stone bombs?”

“First things first, I need to check if the Bounty Hunter Guild has any identical alloy metals. I’ll make a storage box for my mecha. The mecha’s too big to carry around conveniently, so having a few boxes in different sizes that I can pull out at any time would be ideal.”

With that, Yang Bo began practicing mecha control in the basement.

“The mecha is currently my strongest trump card. I need to master it.” Yang Bo knew that even though his superpowers were strong, he still couldn’t beat a mecha.

The main issue was energy. Mechas had a much longer battery life, while a person’s energy was limited.

That was the deciding factor. At this point, Yang Bo’s superpower level was pretty high. He could destroy a few mechas, but endurance was his issue. Even recharging took time.

“Once the energy detection gear arrives, I’ll work on developing Electro-Optic interference and shield capabilities.” Yang Bo had ordered an advanced energy detector, but because of the approaching hurricane, it would take a few more days to arrive—no big projects for the time being.

That’s it for now, I’ll write more for the second post. Here is what I’ve got so far!
