Chapter Index

Yang Bo carefully read the manual and found that as long as you connect the power and start it, you can block 99.99% of energy detection.

The working principle of this jammer has two modes. The first is full-screen jamming mode. Once activated, it releases electromagnetic waves across all bands, interfering with any other electromagnetic signals and energy waves.

The second is that the device can explore surrounding electromagnetic waves, and based on the detection, release electromagnetic waves of the same frequency to achieve interference.

Of course, this interference has a major flaw; primarily, due to the size of the device, its range is limited. The one Yang Bo bought has a maximum range of three kilometers.

Secondly, once the interference is activated, the other party can detect the area where the jamming is happening.

“Got it!” Yang Bo understood the working principle of the Energy Disruptor.

In his previous life, the factory where Yang Bo worked installed a jammer to prevent workers from playing on their phones during working hours, but the telecom company quickly found out.

Once the interference was activated over here, they could detect that their communication signals were being jammed there.

“I’m just using it for learning.” Yang Bo bought it for study purposes. Installing an Energy Disruptor by himself would be illegal, as it requires government approval.

Yang Bo took out two virtual communicators. They looked like electronic wristwatches but could project a light screen to form a virtual image.

He first connected the two virtual communicators, then activated the automatic jamming mode on the jammer.

Soon, the auto jammer detected the communication frequency between the two communicators.

Yang Bo carefully sensed it, and soon he could feel the presence of electromagnetic waves. In this environment, with everything else blocked, it was easy to pick up on this single electromagnetic wave.

The Energy Disruptor was already working. The virtual screens of the two communicators flickered constantly, clearly being disrupted.

A few minutes later, Yang Bo shut down the Energy Disruptor and then tried to simulate the interference waves released by the jammer on his own.

Turning his own Electric Power into electromagnetic waves, especially matching the necessary frequency bands, would take some time. Yang Bo began experimenting bit by bit.

Yang Bo transformed himself into his mechanic form, instantly releasing interfering electromagnetic waves.

Both virtual communicators immediately blacked out, indicating they were completely disrupted, cutting off communication.

“Looks like my mechanic form is more powerful!”

“Got to feel it properly, and later be able to do it while in my flesh form too.”

    ——————————————

While Yang Bo was simulating training in the basement, the Fat Boss finally met Zhou Rui.

Fat Boss was surprised. This woman from the Bounty Hunter Guild didn’t seem like a junior staff member just by her demeanor. As for her looks, Fat Boss didn’t bother to pay much attention. In this era, anyone can look any way they want.

“Did Mr. Yang Bo entrust you to talk with us?” Zhou Rui asked directly after sitting down, seeing Fat Boss.

Fat Boss didn’t like Zhou Rui’s attitude, but thinking the other party might have some backing, he asked, “May I ask for your name, miss?”

“Did Mr. Yang Bo not tell you?” Zhou Rui actually looked down on Fat Boss.

On one hand, Fat Boss belonged to some family. On the other hand, with Fat Boss’s talent, if he wanted to join the Bounty Hunter Guild, he’d have to pay the guild.

No matter how influential your family is, if your talent is lacking, no one will respect you.

“Yang Bo entrusted me to negotiate the terms. I also want to join the Bounty Hunter Guild.” Facing her forceful attitude, Fat Boss had no choice but to compromise, suspecting she probably had access to his personal information. Otherwise, how could she act like this?

“To join our Bounty Hunter Guild, the fee is a hundred thousand per year.” Zhou Rui immediately offered the price upon hearing this.

Fat Boss’s face darkened instantly: “Are you saying I have to give you a hundred thousand a year?”

“In principle, we don’t welcome members of other factions into the guild.”

“They would use our resources to strengthen their own families.”

“But from the looks of your talent, you won’t get too many resources from our guild anyway.” Zhou Rui said this in a calm tone.

Heart-piercing. Fat Boss felt utterly heart-pierced, further realizing that this woman probably had significant backing. His family’s status was several ranks below that of the Bounty Hunter Guild.

His family was considered a third-rate power within the Alliance, which is why they were stuck doing dirty work.

Meanwhile, the Bounty Hunter Guild wielded power across the entire galaxy. Even the Alliance couldn’t deal with them—probably not wanting to destroy the relationship. Fat Boss didn’t understand those intricacies.

“Yang Bo’s credit redemption gets a 10% discount!” Fat Boss tried speaking on Yang Bo’s behalf.

“He gets a 20% discount.” Zhou Rui glanced at Fat Boss.

Fat Boss was astonished: “Do you have that much authority?”

“Why don’t you call him out and see for yourself?” Zhou Rui mainly wanted to recruit people like Yang Bo. It wasn’t about making a profit, but about making a larger future investment.

People like Yang Bo are exactly what the Bounty Hunter Guild seeks. His talent and incredible luck made her come personally to bring him in.

If Yang Bo didn’t show more of his strength later, it wouldn’t be a huge loss. Credits are earned from tasks after all.

A 20% discount just meant this branch wouldn’t profit, but for now, Yang Bo wasn’t strong enough to earn too many credits, so the loss was minimal.

But if Yang Bo could earn a lot of credits, it would prove her judgment was correct. A regional guild branch must have strong individuals capable of handling any task, solving any issue, and even assisting other branches across regions.

“Maybe tomorrow. I’m curious, what exactly is your status?” Fat Boss had suffered quite a blow today.

“Pay the hundred thousand credits to join the guild, and you’ll know.” Zhou Rui said as she was about to leave.

Fat Boss quickly said, “I’ll pay for a hundred years. I’m loaded.”

“Tch!” The President of the Bounty Hunter Guild snorted coldly.

Fat Boss really paid ten million and received an electronic token. This was his login pass for the Bounty Hunter Guild’s official website. The remaining setup could be done by setting either a biometric password—iris, fingerprint, or voice—or simply a numerical or other password.

He could also choose a codename, though if he didn’t, the guild would assign him an ID number as a code.

“Assistant to the President!” Fat Boss watched Zhou Rui’s back and scratched his chin.

“No wonder she knows so much. I wonder how she’s connected to that Bald Guild Leader?”

“Paying ten million to join the Bounty Hunter Guild isn’t such a bad deal. The organization has a lot of advantages. When in need, you could run to one of the other two countries and even gain residency rights. If you want to flee, you could even issue a task of hiring someone to help you escape.” Despite his family’s wealth, Fat Boss constantly felt a sense of crisis about their business.

Right now, doing dirty work seemed harmless, but who knows what the future holds?

“Seems like Yang Bo’s talent has really piqued their interest.” Fat Boss realized that the 20% discount represented the guild’s significant interest in Yang Bo.

“Comparing yourself to others is really frustrating. In such a short time, Yang Bo has gone from being a regular citizen to someone highly sought after. But it’s good he’s joining the guild; it’ll prevent his information from being leaked. If he didn’t join, the guild might sell his personal data and talent to someone else.” At this point, Fat Boss couldn’t even bring himself to envy Yang Bo. Right now, he seemed like a pharmaceutical genius and a superhuman with special attributes.

Meanwhile, Yang Bo continued his experiments in the basement and quickly mastered the wireless transmission frequencies between the two communicators.

With a casual wave of his hand, he emitted the interfering signal again, blacking out the communicators.

“These simple communicators use five basic frequency bands.”

“These small devices only use electrical waves for transmission. I wonder how quantum communication actually works. Apparently, no one has ever seen what it truly looks like.”

“But due to my limited energy, even electronic jamming has a certain range. Time to go above ground and test it further.” Having summarized the pros and cons of his practice method, Yang Bo decided to head to the surface for a test.

“Sixteen?” Yang Bo, emptying his mind, slowly and quietly sensed his surroundings. After half an hour, he looked to the sky and noticed 16 satellites emitting hundreds of electromagnetic frequencies in every direction.

The energy waves above were overwhelming. The entire universe emits countless waves. He couldn’t sense all of them. The reason he picked up on 16 was due to the angles of the waves. He wasn’t sure if he sensed them accurately but could later check with the Bounty Hunter Guild.

In fact, infrared radiation is also a form of electromagnetic wave. To be precise, it’s a type of electromagnetic radiation.

“Infrared falls between microwaves and visible light.”

“This could be useful in combat, allowing one to evade enemy radar lock.”

“With so many energy bands in the Planetary Security System, could interference allow me to evade their radar?” Yang Bo’s mind considered a bold idea.

“I’ll find an opportunity to test it in the desert. If the Planetary Security System couldn’t lock onto me, that would be incredible.”

“It’d be amazing to get my hands on military-grade warship radar. That’s the top gear. If I can disrupt that, other mechas and warplanes would be no problem.”

“But interference has its drawbacks. If the opponent launched a flood of missiles into the jamming zone or even anti-radiation missiles…” Yang Bo knew interference wasn’t foolproof. There were anti-radiation missiles that specifically targeted the areas with the strongest interference.

“Did you settle it?” Just then, Yang Bo saw a notification on his wristwatch. Opening the email, it was a message from Fat Boss, telling him the deal was done and that he had joined the Bounty Hunter Guild.

“Now that Fat Boss has joined, then I guess I’ll join too. For the next hurricane, I’ll head inland using Third Master’s identity. Tomorrow, the mecha game’s apocalypse dungeon will open. I wonder if it’s remote-controlled?” Yang Bo looked up at the sky. Three bright moons shone above, while the satellites of the Planetary Security System continued to revolve. At every moment, 16 satellites covered every part of the planet.

Heading to write the second update right now. It’s been such a busy day. I’m doing this part-time, so don’t worry, I won’t drop the series.

There’ll be a big surge next month. Those who’ve read my previous book already know how I operate.
