Chapter Index

Aside from the Tiger-Faced King, another group was watching Yang Bo – the people from the Base. They were curious how Yang Bo, who seemed to be acting recklessly, managed to earn hundreds of thousands of credits in just a few days. Was this really chaotic?

So, Yang Bo didn’t know that tens of thousands of kilometers in the sky, eyes were on him. However, in Yang Bo’s view, the sky always appeared a blank white, as it had been tampered with.

“This broken game company. It took me an hour just to get here.” Yang Bo grumbled as he rushed along.

If the game officials heard this, they would probably roll their eyes. So many flight components are available in the game store. Why didn’t you buy any?

Yang Bo really wasn’t the type to buy them because in his previous life, he loved freeloading in games. As for the game store, to hell with it! Also, he was poor.

This time, Yang Bo brought four Shockwave Bombs along with a Mini Hydrogen Bomb. Two of the bombs were attached to his mecha’s chest, two on his thighs, and another one on his arm.

The Mini Hydrogen Bomb emitted an energy shockwave, while the Shockwave Bombs did not. The Shockwave Bombs were for enclosed spaces, and the Mini Hydrogen Bomb for open areas.

Yang Bo’s walk was a bit strange. His reason? Every small animal he detected on the radar was crushed under his foot with every step…

    Dynamic Vision +1!

    Dynamic Vision +1!

Yang Bo had already experienced the benefits of Dynamic Vision. In combat training, it could quickly calculate the opponent’s attack speed, distance, etc. A complex motion trajectory would form in his mind, just like an interception system, determining which to block first, which to block later, and which posed the most danger.

Blood Bat and his three subordinates were traveling through the towering mountains. All four of them were wearing skin-tight suits of armor (think Iron Man).

The difference was that their armor blended seamlessly with their surroundings. When the environment was green, their armor was green too. When surrounded by rocks, their armor mimicked the color of stone.

From the outside, one could see that one of them was a woman, while the rest were men. Their faces were unclear, but all were quite tall.

Their movements were light and swift as they navigated through forests and shrub-covered mountain valleys, giving off the impression of possessing great agility.

“Finally, we’re here.” The group arrived at a cliff, looking down at the plains below. One of them spoke, pointing towards the junction of the mountain and plain about a kilometer away.

    “Sir, give the order!”

“No rush. Since the target has appeared, it’s certainly here for the mutant creature. We’ll strike after it fights with the mutant.” Blood Bat spoke with quiet confidence.

“Sir, could that trash be planning to take out the Shadow Rat?” someone asked.

“Definitely. According to our intel, the Federation rated the Shadow Rat as a D-class mutant. They never understand flexibility. Shadow Rat’s concealment ability is comparable to A-class, but its combat power is indeed low.” Blood Bat nodded.

“Sir, the target is still fifty kilometers away.” The woman in the group spoke, her voice somewhat hoarse.

“I’ll assign tasks. We must blow up that trash’s mecha. I’ll cut off his escape route; you three…” Blood Bat issued a series of orders.

“Understood!” The group followed the plan to execute their roles.

Yang Bo looked at the terrain ahead, slightly speechless. On one side, there was a plain with grass far taller than usual, reaching as high as ten meters according to the detectors. On the other side was a mountain range with massive cracks, clearly damaged by human activity.

“Finding a rat here is difficult! You’d be lucky to find a tiger, let alone a rat!” Yang Bo had come just to take a look, as his main objective was the cave several kilometers beyond the mountain range, filled with bats.

After glancing around, Yang Bo casually headed up the mountain.

That single step of his left Blood Bat and the others dumbfounded. The spot they’d chosen to ambush from was far from Yang Bo, and his mecha had radar. In such an open area, if they exposed themselves, they would immediately be targeted by the Federation military space weapons.

“This damn…” Blood Bat was lost for words. With the government controlling the skies, communication was difficult. By the time they received the message, ten minutes had passed.

Yang Bo’s Jetpack activated, and he began jumping from mountaintop to mountaintop. In less than five minutes, he had reached his destination.

“Mecha radar is useless here,” Yang Bo muttered at the rocky terrain scattered with numerous cracks and caves of various sizes. His mecha’s radar limitations made it difficult to probe deeply.

Soon after, Yang Bo heard a strange, noisy sound thanks to his Sonic Control ability. Although the mecha’s radar couldn’t detect it, the sound waves transmitted from it were received by Yang Bo, albeit not perfectly clear nor stable.

He chose a mid-sized cave; though relative to his mecha, it was still five or six meters wide.

The cave slanted downward. Yang Bo took out a Shockwave Bomb, adjusted the timer, and threw it in.

Yang Bo quickly moved away from the cave entrance. Ten seconds later, there was a boom.

A stream of black dust sprayed out of the cave.

    Sonic Control +1!

Sonic Control +1! New information flooded into Yang Bo’s mind.

“Crap.” In the next second, Yang Bo noticed that the bats in the other caves had been disturbed and were flying out.

Without a moment to waste, he aimed for the loudest caves, hurling one Shockwave Bomb after another into them.

Boom! Boom! Boom! The successive explosions caused the entire mountain to shake, and some of the mountain’s rocks began to fall.

Thousands of bats from the other caves were shaken out into the daylight, flailing like headless flies.

Yang Bo checked his Sonic Control progress: Master (9750/10000).

“So close.” He looked at the last remaining Mini Hydrogen Bomb, then at the bats continuing to fly out of the caves and gathering in large numbers in a nearby valley.

At this moment, Blood Bat’s group finally spotted Yang Bo’s mecha, standing on the mountain across from them.

“Move out.” Blood Bat gave the order. The group took to the skies, silently diving toward Yang Bo. Their bio-mechas’ camouflage made them nearly invisible.

Just as the four were mid-air between the two mountains, the valley below erupted with a tremendous explosion.

The massive shockwave, mixed with debris, sent all four of them flying as if struck by an invisible force hammer.

Earlier, Yang Bo had thrown the Mini Hydrogen Bomb into the area with the densest concentration of bats and then rushed to a safe distance to admire his work.

“Wow!” Unexpectedly, the bomb’s explosion revealed four mini mechas suspended in mid-air. These mechas shimmered with light, looking like they were draped in rainbows, as the huge shockwave blasted them skyward.

“Damn it!” Blood Bat and his team were caught off guard by the hydrogen bomb, unable to take precautions from below. The blast scattered them as the bomb’s energy caused their bio-mechas’ camouflage to malfunction and reveal their positions. The group’s energy flared as they broke free of the shockwave, dashing toward Yang Bo with afterimages trailing behind them.

Seeing the shadows, Yang Bo immediately activated his Jetpack and leaped into the air to escape!

But just as he took off, Blood Bat’s group made a graceful mid-air turn, and several strange-looking long blades slashed down on Yang Bo.

At that moment, a blinding light fell from the white sky, and Yang Bo’s virtual screen went black once again.
