Chapter Index

“I wonder what kind of ability these zombie chickens will give.”

“Does Rabbit’s listening amplify my Sonic Detection?”

“I should find a rabbit farm later.” Yang Bo didn’t bother collecting mission items as their value was low.

“Let’s first go and see how many zombie chickens are ahead.” Yang Bo decided to check, and if there were enough, he’d have his two teammates bring bullets.

Following the path he had just run, the zombie chickens that had been chasing him were gone, clearly back into the tall grass.

The tall grass here was thick, but now it was a mess after being trampled by the zombie chickens.

After throwing a rock into the distance, the disgusting-looking zombie chickens charged out.

Because the zombie chickens were small and scrawny, Yang Bo crouched and raised his gun.

While running, the zombie chickens jumped about one meter forward and fifty centimeters high.

Thanks to his Dynamic Vision, Yang Bo aimed at each zombie chicken and fired.

In under a minute, all 160 of the zombie chickens were taken care of.

The gun fired rapidly; the key was to aim for the head.

Yang Bo could set the gun to burst fire, letting him hold the trigger and steadily move the barrel.

The bullets hit one zombie chicken after another. These brainless chickens ran in a straight line, their jumping heights and distances consistent.

    A series of Kicks +2!

“I’m running low on bullets!” Yang Bo hated that this Bionic Puppet could only carry 300 rounds.

Upon closer inspection, Yang Bo found that the remaining feathers on these zombie chickens were bounty items.

“These must have some use, right? Maybe they’re the raw material for some high-tech product?”

“A small feather costs ten game currency, and the long feathers on their tails cost forty?” Yang Bo discovered these feathers were mission items.

Yang Bo moved forward for a bit and found even more zombie chickens hidden in the tall grass.

So, he sent a message to his two teammates, who are now referred to as Xiao Huang and Xiao Hong.

Xiao Huang and Xiao Hong were scouting at the zoo at the time. Scouting required patience since the terrain was complex.

Upon receiving Yang Bo’s message, the two rushed back to the respawn point to buy bullets.

Yang Bo waited an hour, slowly scouting the nearby terrain.

Using his Sonic Detection skill, he identified many of the surrounding zombie chickens.

“This must be a free-range chicken farm.” After close observation, Yang Bo confirmed this remote area was indeed a chicken farm.

When his two teammates arrived, they saw a pile of feathers on the ground. Picking one up, they saw small ones cost ten game currency, while large ones went for forty.

“Big Bro.” Xiao Huang and Xiao Hong greeted Yang Bo immediately upon seeing him.

“From what we know, there are about five to six hundred zombie chickens. I’ll lure them over later. There must be a leader among them.” Yang Bo didn’t mind the nickname and spoke straightforwardly.

“You guys can take the feathers. I just need bullets.”

“Should we head back first?” After glancing at the feathers, Xiao Huang suggested taking the hundred-plus feathers back.

“I’ll give you both 100,000 game currency upfront. The bullets are on me, but I won’t cover travel costs.” Yang Bo primarily focused on leveling up his skills and didn’t want his teammates spending money on bullets, knowing they’d be at a loss.

    “Big Bro’s so generous!”

“Thanks, Big Bro,” both Xiao Huang and Xiao Hong said, breathing a sigh of relief at Yang Bo’s words.

On their way over, the two had secretly worried that if Yang Bo didn’t cover the bullet costs this time, they wouldn’t team up with him again.

Xiao Huang traded the bullets to Yang Bo, who gave them 50,000 game currency each.

Since they were only carrying bullets, each of them could only hold 400 rounds at a time.

Xiao Huang took the feathers back to the respawn point, leaving Xiao Hong to guard the area.

“Wait here.” Yang Bo told Xiao Hong to stay as he continued onward.

After moving ahead a little further, Yang Bo had already scouted the area thoroughly.

He tossed a rock into the bushes and ran back quickly.

From a distance, Xiao Hong saw Yang Bo lure a large group of chickens, squatting and shooting them one by one.

Not a single zombie chicken got within twenty meters of Yang Bo.

In less than two minutes, Yang Bo had killed over 100 zombie chickens.

Yang Bo signaled to Xiao Hong and continued onwards.

Xiao Hong hurried over and saw the zombie chickens, some with sparse feathers, some with none, some with one, some two, and most with six or seven long tail feathers.

Ignoring the rest, Xiao Hong quickly collected the feathers. Once finished, Yang Bo had already killed another group ahead.

Xiao Hong felt overjoyed. It was her first time experiencing the thrill of collecting money so easily.

After 40 minutes, Yang Bo was left all alone, waiting with no more bullets.

Xiao Hong had taken the mission items back. One goal was to submit the task; the other was to bring more bullets to Yang Bo.

Xiao Huang had just started coming back from the respawn point.

“This game is a huge time-waster!”

“Why can’t it be like the mecha game and have deliveries?”

“Maybe there are powerful creatures up in the air?” Yang Bo thought about the monsters that had fallen from the sky when he hunted sheep, gaining a bit of insight.

Xiao Huang and Xiao Hong chatted privately as they ran errands for Yang Bo.

    “Big Bro is killing it!”

“I’ve gotten over 200 feathers. Big Bro’s almost out of bullets!”

“Big Bro’s definitely running out of ammo.”

“If you calculate it, Big Bro’s lost quite a bit. 800 bullets cost 40,000. Our feathers are worth at most 20,000.”

“Big Bro must just enjoy the thrill of killing.”

“Let’s not worry about him; we’ll keep earning our money.”

The entire chicken farm sat atop the mountain. After five hours of clearing, Yang Bo finally made it to the farm.

“Is the leader of these zombie chickens brain-dead?” Yang Bo spotted an unusually large zombie chicken in the ruins of the farm.

Unlike the others, this zombie chicken still had all its feathers, which were a deep charcoal color, like burnt coal.

“Logically, after killing so many zombie chickens, the leader should’ve come out already.”

“Yet here it is, just standing there while all its underlings are dying.” Yang Bo had encountered a similar situation at the sheep farm earlier, where he suspected the leader was playing dead.

“For these leaders, as long as they’re not in danger, they don’t care if their underlings die.”

“But if they sense real danger, they’ll call in the small fries.” Yang Bo wasn’t entirely sure, but based on his last experience at the farm with the zombie sheep, he had a strong suspicion.

From about 170 or 180 meters away, Yang Bo raised his gun and shot the big rooster in the body.

The previously motionless rooster immediately let out a screech. Zombie chickens began bursting out from the surrounding tall grass and ruins, though they didn’t charge directly at Yang Bo.

“Looks like that’s it. I wonder if becoming a zombie caused this.” In the next second, Yang Bo shot its head off.

    Mind Control +4!

A notification nearly made Yang Bo laugh out loud. As long as he increased his Mind Control, the 70,000 or 80,000 he spent today wouldn’t be a loss.

He had killed over 1,500 zombie chickens to clear this mountain.

Xiao Huang and Xiao Hong were already numb to it. Big Bro had bought 2,000 bullets for 100,000 game currency in just five hours.

Combined, the two earned over 40,000 game currency today, feeling like they were just picking up free money.

Yang Bo quickly cleared out the remaining zombie chickens. Looking at the farm, he rubbed his chin: “I wonder if I can start a farm in this world?”

“Big Bro!” When Xiao Huang and Xiao Hong arrived at the big rooster, they were stunned by the mission item.

“Holy crap!” Yang Bo was also stunned when he saw the mission item. The rooster had over 6,000 feathers, worth 150,000! “Let’s go. Time to log off for today.” Yang Bo didn’t care about the 150,000, only thinking he actually made 20,000 in profit.

Xiao Hong and Xiao Huang were shocked. Their excitement showed even in their private chat. They knew that 20% of the 150,000 meant they’d each get around 30,000.

After returning to the respawn point, Yang Bo submitted the mission and gave them their 30,000 before logging off.

“This plan seems pretty solid!” After logging off, Yang Bo reflected on his actions today.

“As long as I can increase my Mind Control, I don’t mind losing money. The real question is whether those two teammates will leak this information.”

After thinking for a while, Yang Bo realized there was no solution. Even if they did spill the secret, without their help running errands, there was no way he could clear the area all in one day.

“The main issue is that the boss is such a nuisance. If only it would come out when I fight the small fry instead of waiting for them all to die first.”

“Maybe being a zombie makes them brain-dead.” There wasn’t much Yang Bo could do, as this was all part of Remote Control.

    Kick?

Yang Bo pondered the skill and stood, moving to the next room, stretching his legs.

“Oh!” Yang Bo suddenly understood. Chickens, when they fight, leap into the air, peck at each other, and kick with both feet. This must be where his skill comes from.

“I wonder how strong it is?”

“If the Kick ability enhances leg skills, does that mean it’ll boost my Charge as well?” Yang Bo started thinking further.

“I’ll check tomorrow at home.” He planned to return home tomorrow, partly to feed his treasures in the basement and partly to test his skills.

While Yang Bo logged off and reflected, Xiao Huang and Xiao Hong chatted privately, excited over earning more than 70,000 game currency.

For them, a few thousand game currency wasn’t much, but earning it in just a few hours was remarkable.

“Wow, who knew you could make money like this?”

“Big Bro must have some huge secret intel.”

“Still, Big Bro’s risk is greater than ours. He only made a little over 10,000 today.”

“Let’s get back to scouting the zoo.”

    “Yeah.”

The two continued scouting the zoo, feeling excited knowing they could earn a few more thousand tomorrow.

Yang Bo told the Fat Boss not to cook, preferring to eat ready-made food instead. He figured at this rate, if he had to run for it one day, he’d be sad to leave the Fatty behind.

The Fat Boss happily agreed. He had only taken up cooking to complete a learning task after all.

The next day, Yang Bo logged in. His two teammates found another chicken farm, where they killed over 2,000 chickens but ended up losing over 10,000 game currency in the end.

After logging out, Yang Bo said goodbye to the Fat Boss and headed home.

Flying through a storm, the Flying Car shook violently like a roller coaster. Occasionally, Yang Bo could see flashes of bright light.

These were massive amounts of garbage caught up in the tornado. The city’s warning system would fire at large dangerous debris to break it apart.

“No wonder they advise against going out.” Yang Bo nearly threw up when he finally made it home.

This trip had felt like a roller coaster because he had to constantly dodge fast, sharp objects, which severely degraded the Flying Car’s shell, almost making it unrecognizable.

“It’s like getting sandblasted.” Though the Flying Car technology was advanced, even it couldn’t withstand such abuse indefinitely.

Returning to the basement, Yang Bo checked on his little darlings. They were all living comfortably, and one of the sand rats was even pregnant.

The Invisible Mouse, however, was completely fine. Yang Bo rubbed his chin. “Should I give them some high-tech and force them to breed?”

Though lacking the resources for that, Yang Bo was still curious to test his Kick ability’s strength.

Boom! Yang Bo kicked the force-testing machine with full strength, causing it to flash and display 1,200 tons.

“Is this thing broken?” Yang Bo wondered, staring at the number.

After checking the machine and resetting it, he tested again.

“Damn!” It still displayed the same number. Yang Bo was starting to believe it.

    “How is this even possible?”

“Wait. I’m using my superpower, aren’t I?” After thinking about it, Yang Bo quickly realized why the number was so high.

It turned out his Kick skill had reached a master level, with energy infused in the strike.

After sprinting in his basement for a while, Yang Bo decided not to visit the Fat Boss. It was more comfortable at home, with milk readily available.

Over the next few days, three were unlucky. Despite the zombie pigs from the pig farm offering a good Charging Skill, there was no leader.

On the surface, it appeared Yang Bo lost tens of thousands.

Then, there was a rabbit farm where they cleared over 800 zombie rabbits, though unfortunately, he didn’t gain any Mind Control. However, his Listening skill reached a master level, costing him another few thousand.

His two teammates didn’t complain anymore. They initially thought Yang Bo always turned a profit, but without a boss, they’d end up losing.

“Today, I’ll meet with the sect.” After the storm passed, Yang Bo noticed the Government’s automatic cleaning robots tidying up his massive courtyard. His Flying Car had also been repaired. Once repaired, the Flying Car automatically flew itself back home, making life incredibly convenient.

    Second update coming soon.
